My Mario was closed to death. I pulled all the enemies in with Rabbid Mario's special. I infected all the enemies with vampire slide of Rabbid Luigi, My Mario slided one enemy, jumped on another, landed in the middle of the pack, slammed that hammer down on all of them, almost back to full health, two died immediately, one was bounced off the map. I feel good man
The toad escorts are the worst. They could have at least allowed toad to team jump. He is pretty much useless. That challenge in the 2nd World where you have to escort him in 5 turns was a bitch.
Finished it. Overall fantastic game with plenty of content.
Good:
-Gorgeous graphics
-Incredible soundtrack
-Fun, novel gameplay with surprising depth
-Feels like a Nintendo game
Bad:
-Puzzles become tiresome
-Game runs out of new ideas towards the end
-Last 2 worlds aren't as visually appealing as the first two
-Writing is pretty poor all round
Final Boss---- and that he was giving the team weapons to power himself up by having them forcefully releasing the rabbids into the megabug
Anyway Finished the game. Holy hell was 4-8 hard to perfect.
I only ended up getting Goods on 4-2 and 4-9 in the end on the first time through. Then onto the rest of world 4.
Final thoughts
Pros
+Incredible combat system, movement mechanics as damage was a genius idea to incorporate elements of the Mario Jump.
+Good humor.
+Map mechanics and how the tie into movement systems.
+Oozing style and charm in the Overworld.
+Soundtrack and Sound design.
Cons
-Uneven Characters, both in terms of combat balance and role in the story.
-Forced Party limitations.
-Forced Camera Angles that inhibit the ability to really view the best of the world.
-Minor Glitches.
I'll forgive the more inoffensive wrongs like the puzzles because the mental labor during the battles are enough. Overall, this game really surprised me but I wish it didn't become so broken near the end. 8/10, Some VERY good ideas here but the game itself could have used a bit more balance and minor overworld tweaking to make it great.
That feeling of development when you beat challenge 3-7 on the first try.
I feel like a champion.
Also, the end boss for world 3 is probably the highlight of the game so far. In fact world 3 in general is so much more tightly designed than the first two worlds.
Peach is arguably the Worst Character in the entire cast. Her overwatch has poor range and can teamkill, and enemy AI usually shoot first before moving.
Not only that, but unless you are running a frontline team with Rabbid Mario, her team jump needs to be positioned towards the backline so she can heal your allies.
At the same time, Shield and Super Barrier are no questions asked defense abilities, but Protection A. Requires Teammates Nearby and B. Doesn't even reduce damage but merely distributes it. The dissonance of her being a frontline tank but possessing a team jump and a defensive ability that requires you to stay near the backline to an extent hampers her potential.
Now if her ability was the exact opposite of Protection and her only useful status wasn't Burn, then she might have been more useful. Nothing is worse than getting off a Burn Shot and having the enemies burn you out of the cover you shot it from.

I agree with your assessment of Peach, but I would add Yoshi in there as well. His ground pound is infuriating and I just couldn't make it work for me. It either ended up destroying cover willy-nilly or fucking up my team. Keep him at long range and his rocket is really quite weak.
Everyone has their favourite characters and I think the other 6 definitely have their uses. I loved Rabbid Peach + Rabbid Yoshi as alternating tanks (both their shields are amazing) but I know others love Rabbid Mario + Rabbid Luigi. Standard Luigi is also clearly incredibly useful too.
Peach and Yoshi feel like the two obvious weak links to me. Mario is just ok in most respects but his fully upgraded M-Power is essential.
Peach + Rabbid Mario is my team of choice for most matches. Being able to heal every round is great. Her weapons are great too, you just have to think very carefully about positioning to avoid friendly fire in overwatch. It's weird to hear people hate her as my feeling was the character is pretty overpowered
Did anyone do 3-8 Challenge, Go for a Stroll? I am stuck on this way since I don't know how to reach the two goals on the other side of the level and my movements is limited because of the way the stage is designed.
This game is hard, sometimes in the wrong way. The miniboss in world 3 is kicking my ass so much it doesn't even feel fair. Now I'm doing some challenges to gain new abilities but I still don't know how am I going to beat that thing... all those vampire attacks from his allies are just too much.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Which characters are the best with movement skills? I have played up to 2-8 with Mario, Luigi and Rabbid Luigi only and have grown too accustomed to their skills to switch. But I wanna try something new!

Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi are a disgusting pair with mobility. Rabbid Mario can magnet dance everyone into a group, dash into them to chain explosions and set up big multikills with the hammer. Rabbid Luigi can be specced for a ton of dash damage so he can just slide around making everyone vamp'd so that when you do things like the rabbid mario mayhem afterwards it also just heals him in the process.
I love the game to bits so this isn't a criticism in that sense, but I must say... The way you get the weapons as you go along and how you can grind coins by just walking around and how going back makes the challenges and getting perfect easier..just the way the whole thing is designed will be a great free to play game (no, I don't like those). It almost feels like it was designed like one, it's weird.
I worded that wrong because it sounds like any old game, but it's hard to explain. Just feels that way to me. Anyway, onwards to World 2!
The boss of World 2 has me beat. Should I aim for the minions or the big baddie? I've gotten him to 0HP three times (first time to take away the shield, second and third he just moves and gets full HP again) I think, but get wiped after that... Especially when the healers come out, I'm already at low health or have two characters left.
Any tips for this battle? Stuck with Mario, Rabbid Luigi (can't dash the boss so he sucks in this battle) and Peach.
It can be quite challenging in 2-3 occasions, notably one boss and the last two levels.
There is always the chance to lower the difficulty to easy (which grants you more energy at the start of a fight) by pressing Y before the battle is about to begin.

Okay cool, I'll take your word for it. I was pretty rubbish at Xcom, so I'm probably going to be just as bad with this game. Can't believe I'm about to buy an acclaimed Rabbids game in 2017 lol
Still loving this game, finished World 2 and its challenges and starting World 3.
I usually play handheld mode using the Switch speakers but put on headphones the other day to not disturb others, and... I was surprised how much better the soundtrack sounded. I could suddenly hear all these subtle orchestral nuances I hadnt heard before - rolling drums, little string flourishes, etc. - and I was again impressed by the level of detail and care put into this game. Before I thought the music was good but it didn't stand out; hearing all the detail with headphones on bumped it up to great.
Seriously excellent soundtrack, only sad I (and probably others) missed out on a lot of it due to the sound quality of the Switch speakers.

After finishing the main campaign, I'm a big of this game and hope it becomes a series. Ubisoft created a really interesting concept that just works and the game is packed with content. I'll be there day 1 for a sequel. However, it wasn't perfect and I had a few issues. I'd probably give the game 80-85%.
- I personally hated challenges being locked behind backtracking. I haven't bothered to complete world 3 and 4 challenges yet due to this
- While the combat is amazing, the overall world felt "mediocre" to explore. The puzzles got more interesting by world 4, but it always felt like a barrier stopping me play the part of the game I really wanted to. Perhaps the same reason I hate being forced to backtrack to find the challenges
- Controlling Beep-O in the world map with an anologue stick felt clunky and difficult at times
- The final boss was a little disappointing (especially after the masterpiece of world 3)
- I personally wanted the difficulty raised a tad bit (a few more levels like 4-8). I'm completely new to this genre but I was getting Perfects most of the time
- Yoshi is frankly bad. At best he can be viable in limited team compositions and maps
- A kind of spoiler
I was disappointed in the lack of Rabbid Bowser or Rabbids merged with Bowser gear. Ubisoft could have had a lot of fun here
- I disliked Mario needing to be a core member of the party but this was likely a stipulation by Nintendo. It prevented the potential for really wacky team compositions (and possibly making Yoshi useful)
It really does feel like a Ninntedo first party title! That is pretty much the highest praise i can give..
Davide Soliani and his team has really surpassed all expectations - Amazing work!
Also the music is sublime, one of Grant Kirkhopes best imo
The only "real" compaint I have is that there are performance issues... being turn based it is not a gamebreaker but still.. a constant 30fps would have gone a long way to polish up the game.
There are versions of this statues with the size of the Amiibos but they don't have any NFC amiibo functionality. I think they cost 5 bucks more than a standard amiibo.
