MARIO + RABBIDS: Kingdom Battle |OT| XCOM on mushrooms

Also I realized I'm not very good at this game based on trying the challenge stages in world 1. First one said it was "very easy". Kill 14 in 3 turns. Yeah that's not very fucking easy lol

Rabbid Luigi. Give him the upgrade to 50 dmg slide, 2x mob slide. Upgrade your movement. He'll kill 6 himself the first 2 rounds

Sweet thanks for the advice. I haven't put a lot of thought into the skill tree, but Rabbid Luigi is definitely my favorite

So, what are the three best characters to roll with ?

So far it's Mario and Luigi for me. Who do you recommend?

Rabbid Luigi is pretty much completely broken by the end of the game.

Rabbid Mario is probably second best with his absurd mobility, access to vamp and stone at decent proc rates, enemy manipulation, and spectacular AOE damage, but you can make compelling arguments for Luigi and Rabbid Peach too.

The other three aren't bad, but I've found I have to work harder to make them truly effective.

Finished world 1 and going through all its challenges and secrets before moving onto world 2. Must make sure I'm well prepared.

I'm happy this game is long enough. It looks like it will do me well until Odyssey.

I'm at World 2 Boss and...welp.

"Oh that's it? Easy enough."

"OH ok, makes sense now, still easy tho."

"Fuck."

Finished the World 3 Boss. I am loving shotguns. Mario/Rabbid Mario/(Peach or Rabbid Peach or Rabbid Yoshi) are usually my mains.

Rabbid Luigi seems good but I want to buff his skills more before I head back down that road.

Also regarding the World 3 boss, fuck
Bounce/Push
. Had to reload a couple times since I'd always end up far away from the batteries. Rabbid Luigi was useful but it only protected him lol.

Rabbid Luigi and Luigi are by far and away the best characters.
Rabbid Luigi has the best DEF ability in the game and an AOE debuff and an incredibly useful primary weapon.

Luigi has a combination of the best primary weapon in the game and the best Overwatch abilty.

For most of the defeat all and escort missions you'll want Luigi to get that easy turn limit perfect. For many of the challenge missions, Rabbid Luigi is essential.

Rabbid Luigi's vampire dash move is crazy good. Especially on the big enemies with a lot of hp.

Putting Rabbid Mario in your team totally changes the game, though. Instead of setting up cover and zoning the enemy it becomes about grouping them up for massive combos.

Both very fun characters.

I love setting up my skill trees and teams specifically for each challenge mission. This game is sooo good.

Im rolling with rabbid Luigi and Peach and I think the Princess is broken as fuck: dat firepower, shields and healing... damn

Sorry to be that guy but when the supporter Rabbid enemy throws the grenade at you, he very slightly sounds like a stereotypical terrorist. Someone had to say it.

Dammit I think my save has a glitch. I'm in the post game, and World 4 has this fucking annoying Bowser Jr. laugh playing all the time. I switched the game to mute because it is still here after restarting the game.

Edit: OK its gone now after I did the secret chapter. I think it was a sound glitch where he could be heard throughout the level.

I never have played these types of games before but I bought it because the word of mouth was great and I am immediately interested in all Switch games because I love playing games on that device.

I am really enjoying it. I finished World 1 in 2 days. I am going to go back and get explore, since I have new abilities. I haven't died yet but I know it's coming - I just simply lack experience with these types of games.

Very happy with this so far.

Really enjoying this game so far. Just started world 3, and the only really big criticism I have is that it... doesn't seem like there is enough Mario? Like, world one was okay about it, especially with its boss and mini-boss, but after that, world 2 and 3 so far feel more like general cartoon worlds with some Mario cameos rather than Mario worlds, and world 2
not having any Mario-inspired Rabbid enemies at all
really hurt that element of the crossover to me. At least world 3 has
Boos
, but even then they feel like such a minor thing compared to the much higher proportion of Rabbid content. I mean, I also just started getting the Tarot cards and, at least so far, every single one is only focused on Rabbids and has absolutely nothing to do with Mario. It's kind of a bummer. I really hope they have more Rabbid/Mario crossover enemies later in the game.

I think Rabbid Luigi is the best character in the game overall. Guaranteed vampire effects on enemies with his Dash, and it can do a ton of damage on his own. Weapon that is very likely to inflict statuses, especially the strongest ones in the game like Stone which just skip the enemies turn. Bubble to neglect super effects, which is the main way the game ramps up difficulty. AoE debuff is a cherry on top.

Rabbid Mario is who I'd put second, Magnetic Dance is one of if not the strongest abilities in the game and has many ways to be effective. Run right in the middle of a crowd, dance, smash them with a hammer. Get in the front, dance them out of cover, now they're wide open for 100% shots from the whole team, and get in his shotgun's cone. Dance after doing everyone's movement and attacks to get some killing blows with overwatch abilities. It's so fucking strong, then he has his explosive dash which can just straight up kill clumps of enemies before they ever get to move. He gets a ton of movement cells as well.

Luigi would be next just for being solid all around. Amazing mobility, a good Steely Stare just wrecks a team, and in particular for Escort mission types his movement cell buff is never something you want to go without.

Dunno how I'd place the rest, but any combo of the above three is amazing.

Peach seems solid but getting the most out of her jump heal can be a bit clunky. Her grenade is fantastic and her shield ability is great, along with good damage in general.

Rabbid Yoshi I haven't messed with much, but his bubble is INCREDIBLY strong.

Still don't have normal Yoshi.

Rabbid Peach is my least used, the chaining vampire effects works well to heal up without needing a dedicated healer, and her bubble can make her tanky but I'd rather just be killing everything before they can attack in the first place. I'm sure she works out fine but she doesn't mesh with how I really play.

Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi really are obscene. The game just lean hard on mobility and offense that defensive char like the two Peaches just ain't working all that well to me

Reach area chapters are a breeze with Luigi.

There's one in one of the Worlds that give you 12 turns (could be turn 10 turns, its slipping my mind, but it's definitely double digits) to perfect and you can do it in just three with Luigi.

I do wish they didn't limit the teams as much. You should be able to have at least 4 characters later in the game and you should be able to configure your team however you want. The whole Mario has to be your team leader and that you have to have at least one Rabbid sucks.

Yeah I'm halfway through world 2 but reading through this thread I knew that what you've mentioned would bug me. Suuuuper limited team structuring, given the parameters. But who knows, I've only just unlocked Rabbid Mario.

Forgot to mention it in my post but in all honestly Mario is the weak link in the team, lol. He's hurt a lot by only getting +1 normal movement cell and +1 pipe cell, you need to be careful to not move everyone out of his range for a team jump or he just kinda gets left in the dust. Though his abilities are both solid.

No lies detected. Dream team would be Luigi, Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Mario

I'm at the end of world 2 and I'm still using the beginning team of Mario, rabbid peach, and rabbid Luigi. I really like that team.

Is that fine? Or should I be spending more time with Luigi, rabbid Mario?

Just got to world three and the difficulty feels like it ramped up a bit with the new enemy type. Thinking of trying out a new team.

I really like going through the challenges that are basically puzzles and you have to spec your group to complete them. Really nice break from traditional game play.

It's worth playing around with other characters just for the fun of mixing things up and seeing what other possibilities the game offers, but the starter team is damn strong in its own way. When you need defense and sustainability, there's nothing better.

Finished world 1 and immediately went back and boy was i glad i did. By the end of it i must have had nearly 50 extra skill points. So good.

I thought Rabbid Peach would be the pinnacle of great animation in this game, but man was I wrong. Rabbid Yoshi's animation in the team select menu made me laugh hard, and he's kept giving me a smile with all his antics. The animation team have really done a fantastic job with this game!

Who knew Ubisoft had it in them to make a game like this? And how foolish people were to doubt the initial leaks (in hindsight).

I'm on 4-2 right now, and the game has crashed twice on the same battle in which you're supposed to reach the goal. The same thing happened both times. One of my characters moved, and an enemy with Villain Sight activated shot my character and caused a bounce effect, resulting in a black screen stating that an error occurred.

EDIT: Finally finished it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a perfect on this battle, as the manner in which enemies would spawn and activate Villain Sight had me doing everything possible to avoid what I believe caused the crash before. I did get attacked by enemies using Villain Sight during the final attempt, but no bounce effect occurred that time. Weird issue.

I asked this some pages back:

Did anyone do 3-8 Challenge, Go for a Stroll? I am stuck on this way since I don't know how to reach the two goals on the other side of the level and my movements is limited because of the way the stage is designed.

Wow. Doing the world 2 challenges after beating world 3 made them stupidly easy. Won't be doing that again.

Doing the world 2 challenges right after beating world 2, they're pretty hard. I beat one of the easy ones right away, but the medium ones are damn tough. The one with 5 turns to kill 10 enemies is not screwing around at this point in the game.

I dunno guys. Not sure if I'm enjoying this game as much as you all are.

I'm up to World 2-6. Just did the mid level bosses on World 2. I'm gonna keep on at this game but I can see myself dropping it when Metroid comes out. It hasn't really grabbed me so far.

I'm loving the cutscenes. I'm the biggest Mario fan so seeing him and the gang in cutscenes of this quality is superb. I hope that there's an option to watch the cutscenes by themselves when you complete the game. Or they get added to the Gallery.

The walking around the world is a bit crappy with stupid forced puzzles (pushing blocks) that just get in the way of things.

Maybe they should have just had battle after battle. Not sure. The actual battles themselves are okay fun. The Rabbids that spawn out of the ground are a bit annoying. And on the whole, Rabbids are still meh.

This game rules. Seems the DLC weapons are really powerful early game though, even more than the amiibo weapons.

The battle just before World 3 midboss rekt me. Finally beat it on my 5th try, but I had to reset skill trees and party composition twice. It was nicely challenging, tho, and felt rewarding once I figured the mission out.

I just now noticed the Limited Edition Pixel Pack weapons code in the game case. Im on world 4, guess its probably too late to make use of those?

Ya they're good up through world 1 maybe a bit of 2?, so ya you lost your chance. They trivialize the early game so you didn't miss much.
