Massive FTC Leak: Mid Gen Xbox Hardware, Series S/X Refreshes, New Controller, and Game Plans!

The thread title should be changed:

This is not mid-gen hardware, it's just a revision of what it's already available....

Good luck with PS5 dropping in price and PS5 Pro coming up....

Has a ps5 pro even been confirmed? I thought it was all just rumors?

Season 10 Story GIF by Curb Your Enthusiasm

Flesh light looks nice, not excited about all digital and it's just a design refresh so not a pro.. maybe they will reconsider and change it up.

Ghostwire sequel I'm in. Maybe Doom zero. Everything else meh.

i wonder who is doing the Oblivion remaster. My cream dream from the abk deal was a Morrowind remake from Vicarious Visions. I’ll definitely take Oblivion tho.

Ghostwire sequel is honestly huge news for me. Really glad I stuck the first one out until the end. I can't imagine what they can do with another crack at that game. The DLC had some of the best quests in the game too, so they were getting better.

The biggest news of the whole leak though is gyro controls. Xbox has so many shooters, and if they actually patch in high quality gyro on all of those, that's going to be huge for me.

Lol, now I understand why Rob Fahey was pushing that "bluetooth" angle.

Edit: not DF

Looks like a bluetooth speaker lol. It's whatever, I don't need this so I won't be getting it. Interesting that it says no change to price though despite removing quite a big feature.

But they are increasing storage, which is probably where they will justify the price remaining the same.

You guys don't think they have multiple plans? Seriously think they don't have a "pro" console being developed in case Sony releases one? Anyhow, interesting, I thought it was fake at first......is this verified in any way?
In many instances companies will have two internal teams actually competing with each other for a new hardware specification, and the best one out of the two gets adopted.

Love the design. Won't buy cause it's the same performance as my Series X
This will push me to Sony's PS5 Pro.

MS understandably is not focused on delivering better hardware to existing customers cause new console RND is insanely expensive, and hardware sales are always a loss.
I get that, truly. Why waste time trying to sell something to people whose money you already have. But, hopeful enthusiast Xbox fans/subs like me are unmistakably getting the shaft here - there won't be a better Xbox til 2028 or beyond.

They want to cut that part out and go straight to printing money, and it's clear they expect direct-to-cloud cloud to be that money printer.

Risk: Sony PS5 launches a Pro model, and they lose some "core" subscribers to Sony's platform
I guess they are not worried about it. Seemingly, Xbox is content to lose a percentage of this demo to Sony, and try to make it up with new casual signups.

TLDR: Xbox primaries like me are suddenly very interested in PS5 Pro.

I don't care about all digital. I've bee all digital for many years.

But, same power and not a Pro with boosted specs?!? WTF to that.

Phone reception is more important to me than human rights
The Series X refresh is digital only? Oh...that's very disappointing.
I just saw one of the slides about EOL for the current Series X before this refresh launches and ....yeah.

Since the Series X is the version thats has the lowest amount of users...EOL wont be too hard or painful.

MS really phasing out disc drives this gen. What a time to be alive.

This console is ugly lol. It looks like a black versus of the router that Apple used to sell and many companies still sell. The current Series X is already a pain due to the shape but now it’s vertical only.

Updates are nice though and the controller finally brings it up to modern standards. I’m most curious about the thumbsticks being modular.

I wonder if they'll let people buy external BD drive (just like Sony) if they'll need one, cuz it looks like they're just removing BD drive to cut the cost and leave the price the same. I mean, you can't force people to buy games digitaly, especially if 3rd party have no plans to abdandon physical media. There must be a choice while it's still available.
They don’t HAVE to do anything.

Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo know the details of digital vs physical and if they only release a digital console then they know the results.

Xbox knows they are losing and won’t win. They have no chance to beat Sony and Nintendo and they’ve been pushing the cloud thing hard so them going all digital wouldn’t surprise me.

Haptic feedback is about to get popular among our green rat friends 🐀
I wish it weren't this way, but... yeah, we're definitely going to see a "reverse" on that, when there was never any need to play it down. I think I read that the controller also has a speaker, so I'm happy to hear that.

Not a pro console, but I guess im okay with that

Was only ever going to get one pro console (ps5) while keeping my XSX for exclusives

Controller has no adaptive triggers either

Kinda meh news. The XSX slim looks nice tho
I guess they went for the Apple Mac Pro design:

  • There's literally nothing about the mid-gen hardware I'm excited about.
  • Not enough information about the controller to gauge its' improvements.
  • next-gen hardware sounds promising, particularly the focus on a DLSS equivalent, frame interpolation, and a focus on reducing latency
  • Software leaks are kind of predictible, but sure, I'd look forward to Fallout 3 and Oblivion re-releases if they were given proper care

Why don’t ms ever listen to the fans, who asked for this shit, why would you release a ugly 2tb xsx for 499 over a digital xsx 1tb for 399 or less, it just baffles me, whoever is calling the shots over there is losing the plot, they need to cut the price of xsx asap if they are ever going to compete with the ps5. Xss might sell well, but they won’t be high spending core gamers,

They're spending huge amounts of money to try and move the market where they want it. They could care less what you or anyone else wants. You'll play games from the cloud and own nothing.

The Zenimax games list is being buried in this topic and the dedicated topic for it got closed, come on now.
It appears that a few users here are meticulously dissecting this document to create new threads for every minor detail, and I'm not quite grasping the purpose behind it. If you're genuinely interested, you can peruse this thread and, should you come across fresh information, you're welcome to share it here, even if it doesn't garner as many likes and attention.
