McDonald's in Japan has launched a new crossover campaign with Mega Man. The promotion is intended to spotlight the premium roast iced coffee.

At the heart of the campaign was a new commercial for the product featuring a rendition of Team Nekokan's "Can't Beat Air Man." The commercial features an 8-bit sprite of the character known as Rockman in Japan as he fights a possessed McCafe machine, then orders an iced coffee and strolls into a McDonald's to get it.

The campaign also has Mega Man mobile wallpapers for customers who want to use their My McDonald's rewards points. Some of the wallpapers include the logo for the upcoming Mega Man dual override game, and 8-bit versions of Mega Man and Dr. Wily

Man, I really belong in Japan. I still remember just all the Dragon Quest advertising all over the place, not just gaming areas, but konbini and such, so much of it I saw when I was there. You barely even know the series exists in America. And now they're doing a cross over of Rock Man with mcdonalds...that's my world. Not k-pop demon hunters.

I mean, it's a cool video game themed commercial I guess, but for it to be a "crossover campaign" isn't there usually some kind of pairing? Like not even a little megaman sticker on the cup or nothin?
