Sony just has got to the point where they are on top of the world and think they are untouchable. At some point it will come and bite them in the ass and I'm sure this is just the start of the crumbling of the Sony tower.

What has Sony done for their lead to "bite them in the ass"? I'm trying to understand your post. It's like some you guys are really upset that PS4 is dominating.

Sold through or sold in? These statement are all pretty vague lately, a lot of word play, almost 10 million sold to retailers worldwide means they haven't sold through 10 million yet, maybe not by a substantial margin. No way to know really given the information we have at this point.

So basically a similar trajectory with US, where SSO/CoD/ACU/MCC accelerated sales above PS4 during its core weeks, except without the $50 price cut.

3 weeks Uk sales is around 50k units? Unless PS4 fell off a cliff they've likely make up very little ground.

It compares poorly to my PS4. Controller is not as good as the 360 one. Sticks are too loose and LB/RB are awkwardly placed.

Not even close to my Dual Shock 4 for comfort. (granted the DS4's battery is poor).

Also. don't like the UI, it seems to have really high contrast and it is a frickin beast of a machine. Far too big.

Got Sunset Overdrive:
Don't like the aesthetic's of it and has very bad textures/pop-in. I've heard its a slow burner to get into but if it doesn't grab me in the first few hours, no deal. Shame cuase i love Ratchet & Resistance.

Halo MCC:
Broken multiplayer...

Forza Horizon 2:
Decent but don't like the off road stuff and its not having the same impact on me as Horizon 1 which I loved. Too much of the same.

So, on eBay it went. It was very underwhelming to me and I was a 360 guy. It has been gimped by the poor design philosophy from the start. Yes they made adjustments like removing the DRM stuff and Kinect requirement but it will always be held back by the Legacy of Matrick.

PS4 still has no equal in my eyes.

Sony screwed up. Havings its big 3rd party co market games all get delayed didnt help as well.

Good to know, right now owning both consoles I honestly have to say I think the Xbox One is better besides its 'issues'.

XBO changed everything they needed to change except the one thing they couldn't change, their system specs. It's a great system and expectedly, they're slaughtering the PS4 in system updates and software/applications. But ultimately, they still skimped on the one thing the Xbox brand had never skimped on before, pure power. And that's the one area they couldn't 180.

Glad to see that it's an actual competition now though.

Love these type of posts. What makes you think Sony feels untouchable? People do realise the games we got this year have been in the works way before the gen even started? Way before MS fucked it up at their console reveal?

Sure, it hasn't been a good year for Sony first party games but that has nothing to do with Sony being too confident thanks to PS4 sales.

ATM you can get an XB1 with multiple games cheaper than a PS4 with a single game, if you're lucky.

Considering the UK was 360 last gen and the XB1 is cheaper, I'm not really surprised that people are moving to that.

It's likely the average is pulled down a lot by the first couple of months in 2014 when the PS4 was heavily supply constrained.

Minimum amount sold since 1M annoucement = 130k
Probably a lot more than this, given what I mentioned above, Destiny launch etc.

Where as I don't think the PS4 bundles have been as good.

Sony needs to drop the PS4 price to $350 if they want to keep their edge, but this means forsaking half a billion dollars in the next year and perhaps more later if Microsoft continue their aggressive pricing strategy.

How much market share is Sony prepared to sacrifice for that amount? $500M is enough to fund 6-8 first party AAA games plus another half a dozen indies which ought to sell a bunch of machines. Maybe some of those could be VR titles for a hopeful Holiday 2015-2016 Morpheus launch.

It's a tough choice to make. I was in favor of Sony dropping to $349, honestly, and going full defense, but I guess they're scared of Microsoft's willingness to forsake money for marketshare.

Definitely a good move by Microsoft.

PS4 is still selling pretty good, even outselling PS2 in some countries, cutting the price and loose profits would be stupid just to win console war.
