What's happening? How come there's a title selling 9,000 copies in the top ten? Are software sales really that bad?

It's not that surprising. The major holidays in Japan are all but over, aren't they? Christmas/New Years usually sees a major boost, though.

Some ignornat twat assumed the Japanese celebrated a catholic holiday, then other ignorant twats proceded to laugh at him for his ignorance of Japanese religion and culture.

Well, being that a large amount of people post from Japan on these boards, I wouldn't have called those people who laughed twats.

Relax a little. It's a running joke. :)

If this keeps up until next April we will have proven that it's possible to celebrate Easter all year long. :D

If the DS is ahead again this week, Easter will have been in effect for 26 weeks!

I think it might be a mistake to release another sequel to the Brain Training games so soon. The first two are still selling very well. Ninty should let them ride out the holiday season w/o releasing anymore until next year. Since it has establish itself as a viable franchise on the DS platform, it would give Ninty another game to bank on next year. MKDS & Animal Forest:WW should be enough for this holiday season in Japan, as far as 1st party games go.

BTW, what's up w/ DSpeak? That utility might have some promise. Are they waiting until after their WiFi service kicks off?

I'm surprised we haven't seen a Photoshopped image of Iwata's face on a bunny.

You're telling me that Code Age number isn't a typo?

36k for a Square-Enix title is ...almost unimaginable.
Heavy Metal Thunder? :lol
It's a shame though, as Code Age is actually good, and certainly better than Dragonball.

Well HMT was never supposed to be a real game. Just some wierd oddball project. Code Age was supposed to be a big multimedia project by pretty big name Square people.

..oh well, guess it's back to just FF and DQ after this :\

There are two problems really...
1) The manga hasn't been going long enough to leave a strong impression
2) There is no anime

Those are the main issues compared to the ultra-successful Full Metal Alchemist.

T'was me, though it wasn't an intended troll. It was around Easter, and with my poor whitey-centric thought patterns I was all like "Man, Easter really helped Nintendo DS!" and they were like 'wtf, hardly anyone celebrates Easter in Japan.' And i'm like...

"oh...

...shit."

Hopefully people will stop saying retarded stuff based on one week of sales when they see this graph...
notice how October is traditionally the lowest month for software sales.
