I've been seeing many more Japanese Mario Kart players lately, and they're great to play against :)

Go Mario Kart DS!

Currently, the battle between the 2 MC threads is more heated than the psp vs DS battle. :D

Oh, and all the DS games saw increases in sales this week regardless of how old they are, they'll go up further next week too.

8/10 on Nintendo's handhelds. 2/10 on Sony's console. Wow. :D Amazing numbers all around. :)

Aren't Japan a little late on the whole Tamagotchi thing?

It's a non-gamish type game. So ofcourse it is going to sell.

Here is a list of Non-Games that have sold well as you can see. All of them except that Japanese and English dictionary software.

- Nintendogs: 850k
- Brain Training DS: 911k
- Gentle Brain Training: 773k
- Tamagotchi - 565k

Tamagotchi DS is a game. Not a pet simulator.

Crap, I just noticed Rogue Galaxy suffered an immense drop. What the heck happened there? Sony am disappointed. :(

Bloody amazing DS performance. All these games will have higher numbers next week, I can almost see AC hitting 1m as early as next week. Mario Kart could also sell over 200k. Not to mention the boost the other games will likely have, be interesting to see how many DS games are in the top 30.

The thing that happens to mid-upper tier PS2 rpgs in Japan.

Well it is a simulator in that you sell stuff at a store or you are a store owner. So it is as much as a game as Nintendogs is, and everyone calls that a "non-game".

I can't believe you people are undercutting MKDS now. It will end up being the highest selling MK game in a long time.

ToA's numbers are ridiculous though. If Namco had half a brain they would bring this to the west and they have no excuse since it's 3D.

No, then it is as much of a game as sim city, zoo tycoon, theme park, rollercoaster tycoon etc etc. Stop that non-game calling crap.

Not really. That's like saying The Sims isn't a game. Nintendogs isn't a game like either of them because it is a simple pet simulator sort of like a toy like the original Tamagotchi, but in Tamagotchi DS and The Sims there are more specific goals to be met and they really are made more like a game then actual simulators. But Nintendogs could actually be considered a game by many as well.

Oh so now people are saying that two good RPGs in Tales of the Abyss and Rogue Galaxy along with Mario Kart DS and Final Fantasy 4 are now bad. Compared to the Top 10 of the UK which is made up of 3 movie licesened games. 2 of EA's every year games in Need for Speed and Fifa. A Sims game, and Call of Duty yearly rehashes (not Call of Duty 2, but Call of Duty: Big Red One.) That leaves two pretty good games in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer. I don't think you can compare.

Also Animal Crossing is quite good. In my opion better then the Gamecube version.

The Brain Training non-games are fine. They're just software tools that happen to be for the DS rather than a PC. And Animal Crossing is an excellent game.

QFT. You can't compare with the UK. Their shitty taste in gaming is LEGENDARY.

Has anything ever met their expectations? They are always higher than what the game sells.

I think those are all great games!

As for the others, Nintendogs I didn't "get" when I played, AC for GC was a disappointment (I own it), Brain Training, um, as CVXFREAK noted, are really less games than edutainment software from a PC, and the Pokemon from what I hear are bad (I love the normal handheld games).

As for the comment, you shouldn't take it seriously, it was just a joke that at least theirs consists of "games" :p

I think these charts will both delight and horrify Bebpo. There are 5 RPG SKUs in the top ten, however Ryu Ga Gotoku has dropped from 135K last week to something less than 48K this week and out of the top ten. Real shame that, I hope it's just low stock or something and that it keeps on a selling.

That is true. The thing is though I have never played Nintendogs so I really shouldn't be judging it right now. Then I have never played Tamagotchi so I shouldn't be comparing these two games anyways. Nintendogs doesn't appeal to me because I already have a dog, and I don't want to import Tamagotchi so I don't really have any arguement. I'm just happy Nintendo actually has a 3rd party game that is selling amazingly.
