Shame about Fragile. It's a slow week overall, but we mustn't forget that there was a time when No. 10 on the Media Create list would typically sell 5,000 or less. Of course, this was back when Nintendo were about to destroy the gaming industry with their non-games.

Why? You'd have to wait for years for it to get released. Why not go for a current gen version?

True dat... I hate to admit it but I saw the Wii package and thought "that sucks it's on a last gen system" but I think it was the fact that Mario Tennis was #1 that was confusing me.

I'm going to get my Taiko fix this weekend now that I've been thinking about it. There is an arcade in L.A.'s little Tokyo district that has a full Japanese arcade set up of Taiko DrumMaster.

was the Fragile shipment 30K? Good sellthrough if so.

Guess Taiko's back in stock.

30k sounds right. I'm actually a bit surprised that it improved on the first day sales of 16k. Hopefully it has a bit of staying power.

what the heck

Kojima Productions employees plus American military living in Japan. I would add North American English teachers living in Japan as potential buyers, but they seem to be Wii Music fans.

It came out on the... ?

Actually, you know what? Never mind.

You have no idea how perfect that statement is. The last time I have record of #10 in Media-Create being < 5K was the week before Nintendogs. :lol The next lowest #10? The week before Brain Training. :lol :lol :lol

I'm pretty sure it sold for the same reason Shin Megami Tensei games sell here. I mean honestly you really think there are enough military GAMERS to support all of these games? Really?

sarcasm detector broken or

do you really think that the fraction of non japanese people living in japan who are into video games how are into shooters who bought left for dead are responsible for most of the sales?

maybe there is an audience for these types of games, its just not as big a fraction of gamers as in america..

It was a giant sarcastic stereotype joke that obviously failed at each and every level.

Those top three Wii games are pulling in some pretty good numbers.

Tennis games done right on Wii deserve to sell, and a re-stock of Taiko Drum Master Wii must have happened as well. Fragile needs to continue selling, but it's nowhere near a bomb. Japan's very slow around this time of year.

If Fragile shipped 30K, Namco-Bandai should be pleased with it. I'm glad to see Taiko Wii doing so well, too :)

Any idea on how well Echoes of time is starting off?

C'mon Fragile... good numbers I guess. Especially for tri-Crescendo :lol

Namco must be pleased if they only shipped 30k, though.

At least it's the last slow week for a while. :)

Was about to ask what was releasing, but I forgot it was games releasing this week and not the next one for sales, always mix that up. :p

Should be interesting at least.

Fragile was sold out all over my city, so I assume that most of the shipment was bought up.

Wagamama Tengoku is the new Brain Dogs. Those games will be selling all year.

I hear girls in my elementary school blabbing about it all the time, seems to be the next "Love and Berry" though, this time I guess single women are buying it too, as I've seen it being played on the train quite a few times.

Pleased? Probably not.
Relieved that they could at least sell the tiny amount they shipped? Maybe.
Kicking themselves for not telling anyone the freaking game was even out? I hope so.

Yup, I saw Taiko back in stock, it was the #2 seller at the Tsutaya close to me. Guess it should hit the 400k Namco is aiming for.

More like "Glad they have another excuse to diffuse pressure to make a Wii game instead of a PS360 game".

The game was originally a small budgeted game, Tri-Crescendo just convinced Namco-Bandai to give them a bigger budget. The game was never that big to Namco-Bandai to begin with.

Interesting tidbit: My japanese friend sent me a message through Live that he can't find a copy of L4D anywhere, he went to 2 yamada denkis and 2 best denkis, still couldn't find one.

It seems to be quite popular there now! :)

Hey, jGAF--I read a story today suggesting that most retailers had resumed stocking Magikons given that the lawsuit over them is expected to drag out. I guess retailers are hoping to grab the cash while they can.

Can anyone confirm?
