Wow, I knew FFCC hadn't performed as well as expected but I didn't realize it had done that poorly. Ouch.

Wait, was the OP edited or did I have a flash of dyslexia?

Maybe he means the DS version?
Oooh, I didn't even see a Wii version.

Rythum Tengu is doing amazing. I so want to play the game. And Dissidia too.

Didn't know Ninja Blade was out. Is this its first week?

There's two Echoes of Time and both are for NDS. Which one is Wii? I am assuming the one which sold less.

Ninja Blade got outsold by TR Underworld. I imagine that's pretty brutal for From and Microsoft, who was at least trying to position this as a Ninja Gaiden fill-in. At least that's what I got from the font choice :lol

Ok. Ouch.

Monster Hunter is also hanging there. Really wonder how well the Wii version will sell. Always had a feeling the handheld versions were much more popular.

And yeah. Namco NEEDS to make a new main Tales of game for PSP. I guess they're quite surprised by the sales. I'd be also surprised if I outsold two the same FF games on two very popular platforms...combined.

Someone in the previous thread said that Ninja Blade's shipment was only 12k, so it appears as though From and Microsoft pretty much knew that the game would sell jackshit in Japan. They're probably banking on NA to make up its sales, although the release date (mid-March) is coming at a fairly crowded time during the spring, so the game may not even perform that well in the US either.

PSP Tales would be good for quality purposes, but moving the series to another platform, and another weird console->handheld change at that doesn't sound good...

As for FF: wow at EoT , and Dissidia just won't die. :lol

Should be obvious to Namco now that they need to release a mainline Tales on PSP.

How long after MH3 will we see MHP3? You know it's coming.

Was anyone expecting the Wii version to outsell the DS one? I'm actually more surprised that the Tales of spinoff outsold both SKUs combined.

So apparently the Wii is a complete failure.
The Japanese public are the failures here. Square Enix insults them by giving them a port of a handheld game and 22,000 of them go out and buy it in its first week because it says "Final Fantasy" on it somewhere. Twenty-two thousand.

That's the real failure here.

Can it be justfied by at least being a fun game?

It's the same goddamn game in both DS and Wii. If it is a fun game people better buy it for the platform it was obviously designed for in mind.

The only way I could see someone justify this would be if this person had a Wii and not a DS and had a debilitating eye condition that meant that they needed to play it on a large screen.

So that's like 6 copies justified. What about the rest?

Is there much of a price difference between the DS and Wii versions? I've been playing the DS game and really enjoying it, since it's pretty much RoF with a few changes.

Nah. It's been out of the Top 30 in Media-Create lots of times. Most recently the week of 11/3-9, 2008.
