"Wow" in that it's almost all Wii games, and "wow" in that it's the only Wii games on the list.

I think wow in the fact its almost all Wii games in a row, instead of random all over the chart
DSL 8300
DSi 61000
PSP 51000
Wii 19000
PS3 19000
PS2 5700
360 3600

Wii holding another week around the 18-20k range, PS3 should drop back to sub 19k next week and normalcy shall return to media create (till FFXIII demo hits :lol )

It looks like Wii software has taken over the PSP games' old stomping grounds on the software charts.

Once RE5 and Musou drop off the list and after the hype has settled from the FFXIII demo I most definitely see the PS3 getting back down to 10k weekly.

When does Monster Hunter G come out again?

Yeah, that was my point. It's as if the mediocrity has decided to settle right in the middle.

Sony dominates the market once more!

Not so much dominating (16 vs 14 titles), but definately a signicant turn around for Sony. Well done.

Famitsu Sales: 03/23 - 03/29...

15. [WII] Taiko no Tatsujin Wii (Bandai Namco Games) - 12,000 / 471,000
In either two or three weeks from now Taiko should overtake Dragon Quest Swords as the best selling third-party Wii title, based on Famitsu tracking.

As of 03/29 Taiko is at 471,000 and the last data Garaph (thanks!) has for DQ:S is 486,222.

I don't think anyone is dominating the japanese market right now.
Well, it's not the eye-melting success of two years ago, but I think it's silly to dispute that Nintendo, specifically the DS, is in control.

If it stays at this constant rate how long until it surpasses MGS4?

I wouldn't say that...

Okay let's take a look at this week's numbers based on Famitsu:

Nintendo: 88300
Sony: 75700

Do you call that domination?

Not disputing that, just saying it's not dominating right now.

On top of that the Wii is very nearly double the combined userbase of the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan.

I would call that domination personally.

I was talking about weekly sales, not LTD, sorry about the confusion.

Purely for argument's sake: MGS4's last known LTD in Japan is 686,254. So if we assume that Taiko continues to sell 12,000 a week it would surpass MGS4 in ~13 weeks.

Yakuza! hang in there!

Hopefully it gets a bump when the FFVII PS3 goes on sale.

Not set in stone in the least.

Besides, if they do remake FF7, then Nintendo must remake Zelda II for the sake of karmic balance.

About five months. MGS 4 is very close to 700k.

No, it's 698k something. From Famitsu's 2008 Top 10 per system.

Ah. I must have grabbed some old numbers accidentally. A few more weeks, then.

Does the FFXIII demo come out next week? If not, when's that due? It probably won't be tracked in Media Create, but we should expect to see a nice little jump in PS3 hardware.

Now what about Monster Hunter G? How's everyone expecting that to do? Personally I'm guessing it'll sell somewhere between 200-300k tops.

200-300k in the first week or LTD?

Maybe I'm underestimating the appeal, but I was expecting maybe 200k LTD max.

I was saying LTD.

I would say lower, but it looks like Capcom is actually going to market it decently. The classic controller and MH3 demo in particular are awesome.

Right tracker. Wrong date. It's through 3/8/2009. At the end of 2008, MGS4 was at 686K.

I was gonna guess 500k LTD for MHG, I just think that MH is a lot more popular now than back in the PS2 days, but then again I might be way off :lol

Ouch ouch ouch on so many things. Haruhi, Space Invaders, 360, how terrible...how did the Haruhi dancing game outsell this proper adventure game? The adventure games were popular on the PS2...

I don't even know why they bothered to release NBA2K9 here at such a late date, I guess it's better than last year when 2K8 was released after the NBA season was over.

It is a port, and it will be the third version of the same game.

The MH3 demo might cause some commotion however.
