So strange to see PS3 and PSP games in the top 10. The legs on MHP2G is ridonkulous.

Eh, not only that. PS3 and PSP games outnumber DS and Wii games in the top 10.

Mario & Luigi RPG 3 is the best selling game in the series, by quite a bit.

1 GBA 2003-11-21 1150 Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Nintendo 438,781
2 DS 2005-12-29 212 Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time Nintendo 417,391
3 DS 2009-02-11 3432 Mario & Luigi RPG 3 Nintendo 497,000

Of course, I guess it's been that way for a few weeks now.

Come on Taiko!

It's no Rhythm Tengoku Gold, but its nice to see a good little series ride the DS rocket to sales nirvana.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

MHPG2 only has sold 550,000 copies? I thought it sold absolutely crazy over there?

The more valid question would be has a market leader had this long of a software drought

Its not like it was 80k a week last week, its been steady at 16-20k for a while now

Im itching to see what that PS3 hardware jump is for FFVII. Id cry and laugh at the same time if the Wii outsold it. It will next week, but will be back under again with FFVII.

What i dont understand is who is buying PS3 right now. WHen you can wait 1 week or 2 and get a FFXIII demo with it. Doesnt make sense.

NoA will take their sweet time.

God I hate them so very, very much. They are about Activision level right now. Can they beat dev killer EA? Only time will tell (doubt it but they still fucking suck)

America gets better games?

But if I could speak/read Japanese I'd sell my US Wii and get a Japanese one so maybe, just maybe I might have a chance to play Fragile, Fatal Frame, Disaster and whatever else we're never gonna see localized.

Yakuza 3 / Biohazard 5 hang in there!!!

It's really sad the best selling game was 34,000.

EDIT: what does PS3 have after FFXIII demo? Nothing? Is it going to be like the Wii right now?

I think there is a dynasty warriors 5 : empires version coming up, besides that nothing except the usual suspects, winning eleven etc etc

What are you guys talking about? The market leader is very clearly dominating the charts and sold 65,809 units just last week!

Is Monster Hunter even showing the slightest signs of slowdown? That thing is insane.

Well, they were taking major Retro staff members and "escorting them off the premises" not too long ago: http://kotaku.com/383366/key-metroid-prime-staffers-leave-retro-studios

Though interestingly enough EA picked them up when they reformed as Armature.

Wii is just a third string console

wow, inazuma @ 30. i hope there will be a pal or us version some day.
That is pretty much guaranteed, soccer + layton success means they'll give it a shot. Bear in mind L5's software aren't made for Japan only but worldwide.

Stumpokapow

listen to the mad man
The last week I remember the software sales being this overall disappointing was the week that Seaman 2 topped the charts in Fall 2007. Which, also, FWIW, was the week the Wii bubble first burst after a year of record-breaking sales. It's true that after that the Wii enjoyed several other crazy periods of sales, but that was the end of the initial streak.
