I overrated Tales, thought it would do 130k. Will be tough to reach their worldwide goal I think.

edit: not saying those are bad numbers, just thought it would sell more

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

It did as well as anyone could have hoped- it sold to 1/6th of the userbase in one week.

what is this summon night 2? wasnt one released in japan and more recently in NA under the name twin age? is this summon night 2 more of a traditional rpg? if so i hope atlus hops on that.

So is ToV offically the biggest first week a 360 game has done in Japan to date?

Using Media Create numbers, it's about 25,000 units higher than Blue Dragon's first week. I wonder if it can beat BD's second week that was around 25,000 units.

It had the best 360 launch ever, didn't it? Blue Dragon did like 80k it's first week right or am I remembering wrong?
The number is good, I had just assumed it was the biggest title coming out this week.

It's an SRPG series with four entries, that only came out in Japan and is actually somewhat popular there. Twin Age is just a spinoff.

I played the first part on the DS, and it turned out to be somewhat simple in gameplay, with slight dating game tendencies.

First thing I noticed too. How many does that make now? How is the DS comparing to stuff like the NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2 in terms of million sellers?
I'm not sure how many million sellers there are on DS in general, but comparing the sales for Dragon Quest V within the series (numbers from Wikipedia):

SNES - 2.8 million
PS2 - 1.64 million
DS - 1.01 million

Not too bad for a game that's been up to bat twice already.

Wow, and it still hit ~73k this week? It may make 1.3 million by the time it's done selling, maybe more if it has extreme legs.

do those Vesperia numbers include the bundle? 108k is not bad at all, but I was predicting 120k at least.

Not really, considering userbase size, the PSP should be doing MUCH better.

Why though? PhantasySP has outperformed its predecessors and MH2P is the established king of the genre; it does well enough to be the Pepsi to MH2P's Coke.

Hasn't PSUP already outsold the combined LTD of the entire series across the platforms it released on by now? Sounds like a pretty remarkable thing, especially for a port.

The 'H' stands for hentai.

My post was not a reference to the Phantasy Star for the PSP.

It was in reference to the Software sales compared to the installed base. Since RobertM's original post was not a specific post that talked about Phantasy Star's sales.

Famitsu also said that it's outpacing DQ4 DS by two weeks. Pretty neat.

I think that says a lot for how VI is going to sell (though personally I expect it to outsell the previous two regardless of this apparent trend). :)

Come on, hang in there. You can do it, man! We believe in you!

VI was the best-selling SNES game so that wouldn't be terribly surprising.

I dunno, V is basically still the most popular, in terms of being a fan favourite, so I think VI might not sell as much this time around.

When was the last time that a Sega game topped the Media Create charts two weeks in a row? ;p

I think even they are surprised with the sales for it - there's surely going to be a follow up.

Great to see FE get some solid sales :) All around a pleasing chart this week. Hopefully IU can keep the 360 momentum going in Japan, if not just a little.

Yeah, too bad it wont include Phantasy Star V as a bonus.
