• Software numbers are typically posted on Wednesday nights at about midnight Eastern.
• Hardware numbers are typically posted Thursday nights at about 9:20 PM Eastern.
• Historic Famitsu Data Compiled by Garaph.
• All charts belong to LotusCharts and will be linked accordingly.

Afrika has been in the top 10 half the amount of time that MGS4 was!!! Hopefully it sells enough for them to consider an English version.

I guess you're doing it for now?

I've done it the last two weeks. I don't really have a preference going forward, though. I'll do it when I'm around on Wednesday nights, unless the translation and thread gets posted earlier.

I'd really like to do it if you don't care that much, unless anybody objects.

You both do a great job, so you two can decide, but Panther you normally do the charts right?

I just have one request. Whoever does the OP, to add the monthly totals as well, and update them once a month matched up to NPD.

Here's August 2008 monthly MC hardware numbers. Covers Aug 4 - Aug 31:

DS - 251,534
PSP - 212,182
Wii - 162,470
PS3 - 39,861
360 - 38,995
PS2 - 35,901

If we can get those added as a column with the hardware in the OP, it would be great.

Edit: They should be accurate, but feel free to double check me.

Blue Dragon didn't do as well as I thought it would. Wasn't this really popular with the 360 audience?

It only sold 200k, and it WAS on the 360, so it doesn't necessarily mean it crosses over with the DS audience. I'm also wonderin if the DS game is any good.

PS: I think posting the Famitsu hardware numbers in the OP to be swapped out later is confusing for any newcomers that join the MC threads.

Any anecdotal information about X360 sales in Japan with the price drop? I know it'll be about 33-34hrs before we get numbers, but a heads up is always nice :)

200k for the 360 was impressive, especially for the userbase. The DS audience is so huge, I thought there'd be more crossover is all.

I am also curious. It's only 2.25pm over there, so I wouldn't expect anything from the media until Friday, but maybe someone who lives in a big city could let us know if there's activity.

One thing
not
worth noting is that ToV dropped almost off the Amazon.jp top 25 a week ago and it's moved back up a few spots over the past couple of days. The same thing could be happening in real retail, and there may be leftover demand for the game.

I still think its funny that people are marveled at Afrika's performance. At least here and in other forums, the game was huge ever since the first teaser. Everybody wanted to know what the game was about and stuff.

Just looked like a bigger game, a game that would at least do Heavelnly Sword/Ratchet numers.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but i thought the game was going to be much more popular. Now we don't even have release dates for Europe and America... it's like they (Sony) gave up in the middle of the development process.

57k now means it's gonna struggle like hell to end up with 100k LTD.

Blue Dragon Plus (NDS, AQ Interactive): 8 / 7 / 7 / 8 - (30/40)

That probably didn't help either. It should have come out a lot stronger for a DS entry as more or less a new IP.

For the record, the original on the 360: - Blue Dragon (Mistwalker): 9 / 9 / 9 / 10 - (37/40)

you have to scratch the screen as fast as you can to win a "Shadow Fight"~
That's kinda what tipped me off that this game would be mediocre.

I'm still picking it up as long as it's better than Heroes of Mana

Since you've already put your stuff in the second post, I'll just update the original post as normal. Next week, I'll try to go to sleep early. :p

P.S. I like that you're not doing the columns for 11-30, since that keeps the title intact. :)

I could be wrong, but from what I remember neither HS nor Ratchet PS3 broke 40k in week one in Japan. Afrika may actually be tracking higher then either one, right now.
