Epic fail for Wii Music. Especially considering its their flagship Wii title for the holidays, and they've been hyping it for years.

This is a rare case of sensibility displayed by Japanese consumers.

Looks like Nintendo caught their first major brick with Wii Music

Can't imagine it's doing too well in the States either.

Wii Sports Resort will be pretty big though.

I actually wouldn't count Wii Music out at all. It might just linger for months to come. Casual consumers by software... well... casually. We could see it pull a Brain Age. Also, Japanese software sales seemed to have hit a slump. World economy collapsing.

Wagamama translates directly as "selfish". So I'd go with either Selfish Fashion: Girls Mode or just "Fashion: Girls Mode", which is probably better.

Wii Music is too softcore for Japan?

i guess they needed to include some sort of peripheral or plastic accessory...

What about the disc the game comes on?

Pfft. That's your excuse for everything.

Castlevania's numbers are encouraging. It should definitely beat Portrait and Dawn's LTD (I believe they're both around 27k).

And it should considering it is pure awesomeness contained in a cartridge.

It has topped Aria as my favourite Metroidvania. It deserves to do very well. I'm actually pretty worried about NA sales though...

That last sure fire 10 million seller I see is that. Well unless they do Wii Play 2 pack in. Sport has always been the best of the Wii line anyways.

Btw, have you read the description for Girl's Mode? You play as a Clothing Boutique owner and you have to use your charisma and what I assume would be called management skills to make money and expand your shop. Sounds compelling, actually.

Like Aerobiz, without the jets.

I'm not categorically opposed to this, but I'd like to see a couple screens when someone has the time~

Damn it, do you want me to buy the game?

It sounds pretty fun.

You guys do realize that even at around 10-15k a week till Christmas and then a slight boost at Christmas (as most games get) would put Wii Music well to 300k or past 500k right if things are really good for the Wii

Hardly a bomb unless we are saying that every Nintendo game must sell upwards of 3-4 million

In all honestly, I agree.

Dawn of Sorrow sold 250,000+ in the USA
Portrait of Ruin sold less (I don't know the number)

Sadly, this game had less buzz from the general DS userbase than the two previous games. That does not bode well for sales.

I know u got the second one, but i noticed that both are on sale at playasia.com

No, Portrait did around the same amount as Dawn. Both were very, very successful games for Konami.

But for some reason, I just get the feeling Shanoa is going to get a raw deal. I really hope I'm proved wrong, it's the most fun I've had with an action game in a very long time.

Never did, the second one was good enough :D

Oh, I had no idea. I thought that it sold less because of the NeoGAF backlash.

I hope Shanoa doesn't get a raw deal because it tells Konami two things.

1. Keep recycling the old games, and forget doing a higher budget metroidvania
2. Female leads don't sell

Its a Wii line title and it had a massive drop. A few more weeks are needed but this isnt looking good. A lot of people were expecting 1 million+ in Japan

Indeed. The two year dev cycle for OOE definitely made it a better experience...

Wait 'till the end of the year before pronouncing this one dead. I definitely think it will be less of a phenomenon than Wii Fit, but let's just watch.
