I'm kinda surprised FFXI is up that high. I mean, I'm surprised the PS2 version is up that high. It's only compatible with pre-PSTwo systems and the backwards compatible PS3s, and I would have expected some of the long-time players to have moved on to PC by now.

Hmm..judging by where Wii Sports is...my not so bold prediction- Wii outsells PS3 in hardware.

Ouch @ Mario Galaxy :O

And NDS owns 17 in the top 30, that´s insane...

Also, 600k for DQ DS omfg

140k for WE PS3, great number!

PS3 is starting to get better in JP.

For a DS/third party game?
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker did a bit better in its first week during the last week of December, but this is doing better than any other S-E game released this year though.

I'm pleasantly surprised PS3 WE sold so well, the typical Playstation owners might just be starting to pick up the machine... maybe.

Well, the top 10 is pretty strong this week, so Galaxy isn't doing that badly ... aw, who am I kidding.

Wtf Japan, seriously. Hopefully Smash won't suffer the same fate.

wow SMG....

Never thought it would do this bad.
It may have only slipped by 10% and be out of the top ten. Unless there's a huge gap between #10 and #11 this is actually encouraging news.

DQIV should have sold at least 3 billion more copies, but still a good start. Now bring this to America.

Assuming SMG sold 35k it would be at exactly 400k.

Hmm... Super Mario Galaxy gone from top 10. DQIV sales are expected, I expect 12-1.4mil in Japan for the title.

Musou 5 losing it's legs, please keep selling!

WE08 better be restocked Konami so that supply is not strained for next weeks sales, if that is indeed what happened.

Overall, very close to Famitsu so I expect the hardware to be very close as well.

Not releated to this thread, but does anyone have the lifetime sales of all the main Final Fantasy games?

Why would you want such a shit game to continue selling?

In before elaborate SMG spinning

600,000 for DQIV is impressive.

I don't think there's a way to spin this other than to point to actual predictions on a per-poster basis.

"Oh yeah, -->> I <<-- thought it would continue the trend of 3D marios, rather than the NSMB route, and here's my prediction to prove it: (nonexistant link)"

The real question now is:
If you were Iwata, would you let Shiggy and Co. spend another 3-4 years and 15-25 million developing the next 3D mario?

Why not? It's the fastest selling Mario game ever in the U.S. Worldwide it will be just fine.

Sure, unless they keep all the dirty foreign money in a separate vault. And then burn it.

SMG out of the top 10? That didn't last too long at all.

More like Super Mario Supernova, am I right?

If Japan alone was the reason they continued making the Zelda and Mario games as they do, things would be very different.

SMG will sell 4 Million worldwide at the least when all is said and done.

Why would Nintendo not develop another Mario?
