I can see why Japan prefers handheld gaming to console gaming; it's a lot more practical and easy-to-get-into.

Stop It

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.
Nice to see Layton still flying off the shelves, Level 5 are on to a real winner with this series.

PES has taken this long to come out in Japan? I thought they got their Winning Eleven games before we got it as PES, ah well, AC isn't dead yet either.

Oh, I've been meaning to ask, what does the % thingies mean next to each game?

Edit: PSP top 10 Domination? Well, that is nice to see for once, and at least 2 of the games will end up in the UK too, yey!

Did PES move *that* many PS3s?

Well this is when sales start going up anyways due to the impending Holiday season. Look at the Wii's hardware..went up significantly without any big releases.

PSP games dominating the top 10. Never thought I'd see that happen again.

It's crazy, And then you look at the U.S and there is like nothing coming out in the next few months.

There's already a Layton 3? Layton 1 just got released in Europe.

Layton 3 will be released in 2012 in Europe confirmed.

I'll repost my reply to the previous thread regarding Rune Factory Frontier:

I don't think MMV needs a major seller to be happy.

Look at NMH, that game bombed in Japan, but did pretty well in the UK, and proabably well enough in NA.

Rising Star was glowing with praise for its sales, and I doubt it was like a million seller... was it?

Besides, it obviously made MMV happy if we're getting a sequel!

As long as they see nice numbers and meet, or even pass their expectations, I don't think we have anything to worry about! :)

Besides, Rune Factory Frontier may do even better overseas! :D

Actually, I think "praise" would be a major understatement:

"We are weeping with delight. Especially as sales should improve further with the TV campaign moving up a gear from tonight. It is a verification of all the posturing and ambitious claims made these past months. I think a 'told you so' would be apt at some point. Thanks to Nintendo and the Wii console. Thanks to Mastertronic for their sales efforts and all our retail partners. Most of all thanks to Grasshopper for the greatest of products"

WOW! :lol

The only thing that can save the PSP from beating the DS right now is Dissidia (YTD wise).

But again, what's is the difference betweem the YTD PSP and YTD DS right now? 150k-200k?

OK performance so far for Animal Crossing. Will it have legs ?

I don't think it will be incredible legs, +500.000 could damn good though. More the release on Europe and US, it should do just fine.

Now if only they would localize more PSP games for the west...

I picked up Kenka Banchou 3 yesterday. I'd love to see someone localize it, but that won't happen. :-(

With the glut of Fall releases, I think I now have more Japanese PSP games than North American releases.

I'm pretty confident it will reach a million in Japan. It started out higher than Galaxy and Galaxy almost made it.

Agaist!

And holy shit at the PSP games filling up the top 10. It's about time. Good numbers for Winning Eleven. And Chrono Trigger is finally getting the sales it deserves.

Call me crazy, but I don't think a lot of those games would sell in the West. Probably because PSP games don't sell in the West.

Yeah, it's going to be close but the psp is "fighting" with the Wii for the second place in Japan and it's winning in hardware and software sales for now.

Next year we'll see but if things don't change that situation could benefit the psp.

So I wonder if the first day leak was completely and utterly wrong :lol

Wow. So RFF basically didn't shift from its reported 18k opening day? What size was the initial shipment? Is it a stock issue, because it seems really rare for a title to do basically no business after the first day, isn't it?

LOL @ the difference between PES PS3 and PES 360. I thought they would be a lot closer since the improvements made by the 360 this year. Oh well.

And I think this is a title a LOT of kids will be spending their New Years money on. Something would have to go terribly wrong from this point for the title not to reach 1 million. Nintendo is still advertising it and kids are droolling around the kiosks in the game stores.

So far in my town no used copies either, which is surprising in it's own right. I wonder how long that will last?

Plenty of used Wii Music...
