Are we going to get these charts for the other consoles eventually? Great stuff..

More surpisingly, Wii software sales are disappointing too. The third party games are still more or less absent. Also, one of the two new big Nintendo holiday games is not...big.

I really don't see how you can call this weeks sales disappointing. You have numerous games increasing in sales which have been out for months if not years. Taiko Drum had a great 2nd week and the Hudson Karaoke game did well. Given what released this week don't know what else you would have expected.

Awesome :)

Just curious, but where are these numbers from? I usually just use Moor-Angol's site, and you have a decent amount of games that have been more recently updated (like ToS:KoR).

Captain Smoker, do you have a Gamecube list too? :) Would love to see it against the Wii and also PS3. The PS3 software situation is very bad tbh..

Edit: Perhaps if the list will be too long a top 30 or something will suffice :)

Oh and Captain Smoker- I'm pretty sure the Taiko Wii number is wrong. I know the Famitsu leak has it at 200K, but I think it should only be 185K (115K+70k)

I didn't talk about specific games. The fact that high selling games aren't released is disappointing (with a few exceptions of course).

A japanese site (forgot the name/url, sry ^^).

But the owner of that site doesn't like it when a western website copies data from his site (don't know the reason, but we're not allowed, japanese sites are allowed to copy his data lol). :)

But his numbers aren't complete too, because he doesn't coun't the leaked 2chan data for new released games which doesn't make it into the Top30.

Ahh I gotcha. Agree. Pretty sad that the big releases (well only releases) for 12/25 was Pikmin and REmake- two ports.

Hmm, you're right, don't know why 2chan says 200.000 o_O

1. I really liked RE0
2. I think you forgot how Capcom pissed everyone off announcing RE4 WITH EXTRA CONTENT for PS2 before the GC version even got released.

How can someone get upset about a foreigner copying his data thats published on a public forum called the internet? Its rather silly.

That chart is missing a ton of the really low-selling Idea Factory games. It amazes me that Idea factory can somehow magically stay in business with this being one of thier best selling games.

crisis core launched with a bundle of 77777 units, an early launch for the psp-2000. it sold through 100% of inventory. the next week was the proper launch of the psp-2000 where it sold ~270k. so it's pretty much impossible to divorce the impact of the psp-2000 from the impact of crisis core.

Well, then why don't we wait until next week to see what happens? Not saying sale will go up in huge amounts, but certainly the uptick will be there.

I'd be surprised to see another fighter on a the Wii again.

The Bleach fighters on DS and PSP both sold way better, and Fate/Unlimited Codes (another arcade port of an anime licensed fighter) sold over 80k on the PS2 in this same week.

So yeah, I would say similar games have definitely done much better on other platforms. :p

What I mean is, it seems pointless to suppose these things. I'm not trying to make excuses for the games, I just find it a bit simplistic to suggest that a 'bomb' of a game is down to the platform it's on. There are many more factors that than, and it would be very foolish of any developer to just think 'oh, but my game was perfect, it would have been fine elsewhere'.

Fate/Unlimited Codes is a spin off of a "game" that had been released on the PS2 already (and it probably had bigger budget than the original "game" :lol), not an anime licensed fighter.

You're correct about Bleach though. The last Naruto performed really badly too (though, in that case, they added only 2 characters specifically for the game, so they should have seen it coming).

No, you're wrong. Fate/Unlimited Codes is an arcade game based on the Fate/Stay Night property which is both an adult visual novel on the PC and an anime series. It is NOT a "spin off" of a Fate/Tiger Collessium if that's what you think. Fate/Unlimited Codes is a 2.5D fighter that was released in the arcades by Capcom, and developed by Cavia and Eighting. The PS2 game is a port of that. Please get your facts right.

That's a wrong way to present the situation.

Is Street Fighter 4 an anime licensed fighter because there are Street Fighter animes? Is Pokemon Diamond an anime licensed rpg because there is a Pokemon anime? No.

The visual novel came before the anime, so it's a game series, and this game is a spin off of the game series, not an "anime licensed fighter".

It is NOT a "spin off" of a Fate/Tiger Collessium if that's what you think.

I was talking about Fate/Stay Night...

Edit: The visual novel has a non-adult PS2 version too (including extras). It's not PC-only.

Somewhat better translation (Using Google Translate):

"PS3: White Knight Story," a good start

White Knight Story - beating the old --

The number of sales in the lead in the title of the release today

Most dealers in "PS3: beating the old story white knight" would be.

Sales of the largest scale and be the first of 10 million,

Some seem to record a fairly high rate of digestion.

It is also temporarily out of his stock wholesalers,

Not to worry so shipments will be added at the weekend.

This week I was on holiday Tuesday to run the distribution,

Flying it was cautious about sales and shipments to wholesalers of the holidays.

However, the fact that the flap in the middle end

The story of the conflicts arise from time to delivery delays and baggage.

By the end of the ship in good time so that nothing will go smoothly.

Many of the benefits attached booking initial low rate,

And moving from the first impression was that they sold more than I expected.

Gundam Musou 2 of the PS3 because of the trend trickles to large initial version,

I would watch what the movement of the white knight story this weekend.

Pretty sure the Bleach games on DS and PSP sold worse from game to game. Didn't the PSP game open around 50k or less?
