If Radiata Stories bombs then I'd guess:

#1 - ACE ~250-350k sold
#2 - Radiata Stories ~200k sold
#3 - RE4 ~170k sold
#4 - Yoshi DS ~150k sold
#? - DDS ~70k sold
#? - Death by Degrees ~20-30k sold
#? - Nanobreaker ~16k sold
#? - Outrun 2 ~2k sold

If RS doesn't bomb, then switch the top 2 positions IMO.
Heh, I was a little high on the numbers but I'm proud of my understanding of the Japanese market :)

What is ACE and why do people like it?
Gah, I can't believe people still don'y know what ACE is even after that nice official thread we had by duckroll. :( :p It's a mecha game that features mechs from many popular anime series of the past. If the Super Robot Wars series is any indication, especially the PS2 one, seeing ACE doing well in sales isn't surprising.

Err, and ah read the thread Bebpo mentions. :D

When Enterbrain sales come in, point out that a group of angry Japanese ex-DS owners have thrown their systems into a bonfire. That will make this whole topic worth discussing again. Get the popcorn, it's time to go back in time!

I wasnt aware bh4 came out any other week.

Answer it or become easily amused elsewhere.
New games come out in Japan on the same day, every week. Very, very few exeptions. Whenever a game does not sell as well as expected, people start getting desperate and asking......which I find amusing. So nah, I'll continue to be amused here.

Besides, is it that hard to figure out when this came out? Search?

I thought MC numbers would be much higher for this particular game - unless it gets some major legs, and soon, it'll be the worst selling game in the main series.

That's amazing. With all the reported shortages, PSP > GBA + GBASP + DS + GC.

Why are your 2005 totals for the PS2 1,000 low every week? Did I make a mistake with one of my weekly totals or are you just wrong?

Code:
PS2
Jan 3-9 | 124,401
Jan 10-16 | 65,837
Jan 17-23 | 56,374
Jan 24-30 | 58,673

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right, as always I know the first 4 posts will be "this thread will blow up" "doomed" etc, but hey.

Some facts:

REmake

360k Japan (~140k first week, had some good legs though)
510k USA
370k Others

1.24m total

Resident Evil 0

450k Japan (~200k first week, xmas sales to offer a bit of a boost)
520k USA
220k Others (ignored in Europe)

1.19m total

for reference:

Devil May Cry

650k Japan
770k USA
740k Others

2.16m total - Capcom's biggest game this gen.

Could RE4 outdo DMC?

I think it's got a good chance in the USA, and should at the very least come close in Japan. Europe will be interesting. I reckon a safe bet would be:

600k Japan (300k first week)
1m USA (400k in Jan NPD)
500k Others

2.1m total

I'd love to see it do much much better than this though, I reckon a possibility:

850k+ Japan
1.5m+ USA
650k+ Others

3.0m+ total.
:)

I am not surprised that RE4 didnt sell huge numbers, but I am surprised the Cube didnt get a bump from it. As I recall, the last two games caused the system sales to surge to around 25-30k the same week.

How long is he gone for?
I heard 2 months. 1 month for the bet, and 1 month for being moronic supposedly. Not sure if his bet for this new week of PSP > DS sales will be added. He also has another bet pending on the PSP not clearing 1 million in Japan by March 13. Of course there's also the big dec 2005 bet, and no doubt the countless other bets that will be made once he's back. It's kinda all looking bad for him at the moment. :(

Making fun of RE4 doing badly sure is a mature behavior, bitwise. Oh wait, I forgot you are 12-yr old.

Nintendo, please, bring on the Revolution and forget that Gamecube ever existed. There's no turning back right now.

He's making fun of Broshnat's predictions, not RE4 doing badly. The fact that Broshnat predicted RE4 doing well in Japan and was wrong in that aspect is simply an unfortunate side effect. Get your facts right junior member!

I think what's most surprising about RE4's numbers is that it didn't even outdo RE0's first week totals.
I see what you mean, considering one game (RE4) is very good, and the other one total dross.

The difference is that RE0 came out when the Gamecube was fairly healthy in Japan, where as it's now on life-support.
