Gah, I can't believe people still don'y know what ACE is even after that nice official thread we had by duckroll. It's a mecha game that features mechs from many popular anime series of the past. If the Super Robot Wars series is any indication, especially the PS2 one, seeing ACE doing well in sales isn't surprising.

New games come out in Japan on the same day, every week. Very, very few exeptions. Whenever a game does not sell as well as expected, people start getting desperate and asking......which I find amusing. So nah, I'll continue to be amused here.

Besides, is it that hard to figure out when this came out? Search?

360k Japan (~140k first week, had some good legs though)
510k USA
370k Others

1.24m total

Resident Evil 0

450k Japan (~200k first week, xmas sales to offer a bit of a boost)
520k USA
220k Others (ignored in Europe)

1.19m total

2.16m total - Capcom's biggest game this gen.

Could RE4 outdo DMC?

I think it's got a good chance in the USA, and should at the very least come close in Japan. Europe will be interesting. I reckon a safe bet would be:

600k Japan (300k first week)
1m USA (400k in Jan NPD)
500k Others

2.1m total


I'd love to see it do much much better than this though, I reckon a possibility:

850k+ Japan
1.5m+ USA
650k+ Others

3.0m+ total.

I am not surprised that RE4 didnt sell huge numbers, but I am surprised the Cube didnt get a bump from it. As I recall, the last two games caused the system sales to surge to around 25-30k the same week.

I heard 2 months. 1 month for the bet, and 1 month for being moronic supposedly. Not sure if his bet for this new week of PSP > DS sales will be added. He also has another bet pending on the PSP not clearing 1 million in Japan by March 13. Of course there's also the big dec 2005 bet, and no doubt the countless other bets that will be made once he's back. It's kinda all looking bad for him at the moment.

I see what you mean, considering one game (RE4) is very good, and the other one total dross.

The difference is that RE0 came out when the Gamecube was fairly healthy in Japan, where as it's now on life-support.
