So anybody with access to something more solid than wikipedia have a list of probable WW million sellers on DS.

Well,

Million sellers in Japan
1. Pokemon Diamond
2. Pokemon Pearl
3. New Super Mario Bros
4. Brain Age
5. Brain Age 2
6. Animal Crossing WW
7. Mario Kart DS
8. English Training
9. Mario Party DS
10. Common Knowledge Training
11. Big Brain Academy
12. DQM Joker
13. Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon 2 (combined only!)
14. Tetris DS
15. DQ IV
16. WarioWare Touched
17. Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop
18. Kirby Squeak Squad
19. Super Mario 64 DS
20. Love and Berry
21. Final Fantasy III
22. Yoshi's Island

Million Sellers in the US
23. Nintendogs Daschund
24. Nintendogs Labrador
25. Nintendogs Chihuahua
26. Diddy Kong Racing (someone confirm this one, I'm not sure)
27. Nintendogs Dalmatians (possibly; was close last I knew, but haven't seen updated numbers recently)
28. Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
29. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 1

Million Sellers, US+Japan
30. Pokemon Ranger
31. Mario and Luigi 2: Partners in Time
32. Flash Focus (possibly; US+Japan was close last I knew, not taking into account Europe)
33. Mario Hoops 3v3
34. Diddy Kong Racing (possibly; I don't have full data, but it was close and still selling briskly last I knew)

Worldwide
35. Professor Layton (US+Japan is on the cusp; Europe will punch it over the edge no problem)
36. Super Princess Peach (US+Japan is not quite there, but Europe should bring it over the edge and it shipped a million a while ago)
37. Possibly Mario+Sonic at the Olympics. Depends on Euro sales. Will definitely hit the mark over the next few months.
38. Possibly Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2. Depends on Euro sales. Very close without Euro sales.
39. Cooking Mama

I'm not seeing any more obviously over the mark games. Most of whatever else I'm seeing is titles where US+Japan is two thirds of a million and there's no way of knowing if Europe pushes it over the edge--Metroid Prime Hunters is a possible candidate. I don't like doing the shipment thing so someone else can do that.

The following titles on the Wikipedia list almost certainly haven't hit a million:
- Spectrobes; only shipped 1mln and nowhere near it in its biggest territory.
- High School Musical; shipped 1.2 but would need huge Euro numbers to pass 1 mln

What about Sonic Rush and Zoo Tycoon?

Last number I have for Zoo Tycoon (one year old give or take) has it just shy of a half-mil in the US. I don't know how its grown since then or how it did in Europe. Japan is a non-factor for the game.

Last number I have for Sonic Rush was around then and around a half-mil in the US. I don't know how its grown since then or how it did in Europe. Japan is more of a factor than Zoo Tycoon, but not a big factor.

Both are possible million sellers, although I wouldn't call either of them probable per se

Doesnt Sonic Rush have over 300k in UK alone?

Harvest Moon DS sold 500k in Europe alone last year. Depending on American sales (Japan was ~120k iirc) it's possibly past a million.

You got a press release or some such to back that up, cause that seems just too good to be true.

Shocking if true, but I have my doubts.
Confirmed by series creator and head of MMV, Yasuhiro Wada. Europe is now considered their biggest HM market actually, ahead of America.

edit- it was in a Gamasutra interview... I'll see if I can find it.

There are way more million sellers on DS then we think there are..

My Sims comes to mind.

Also Drawn Together..a game that really had no chance out in the gaming world garnered over 800k in sales..

Werent those numbers estimated and not entirely correct...like their Pokemon number was way off...though I dont doubt MySims is probably a million seller

Would be nice if we had some numbers on members of the Petz and Imaginez series...

...honestly, without a clear picture of western tracking, there's no telling how many DS million sellers there are worldwide. I wouldn't be surprised if the figure's closer to 100 than what we have now...

Really now, SE should have something big in development for the Wii. Crystal Bearers might get an entire revamp to fit in with the Fabula Nova Chrystallis concept. Kingdom Hearts Wii seems fairly likely as well. Personally, I'm thinking another Dragon Quest game. Maybe a big remake of an old entry or a high-profile spin-off.
I don't think KH will be exclusive to any platform(Wii/PS3). It seems Nintendo would jump at it but Sony wouldn't let it go that easily as well. I can see it being like the portable versions with KH3 being on the PS3 and KH3:Subtitle being on the Wii or something like that.

think the main KH3 would be on wii and the spin off on ps3 more likely

Interesting if true... Especially since Magical Melody was only released three weeks ago in Europe (yes, Magical Melody, the GC game repackaged in a Wii title here... the port don't use Wiimote at all, e.g. for menus, and the simple button mapping gives sometimes strange results, when R gets mapped on +... I'm still happy to have it, though, thanks Risingstar games)

Too bad if one of the less polished version (too many bugs) gets the best result.

By the way, I'd like to know why they removed most of the events between characters in the US version of Magical Melody, and used the US version to make the European one :(

Well, rumors point to Disney wanting it on Wii... at this point, I'd say even a PS2 version is more likely than a PS3 version to be honest.

MMV/RSG has a lucrative publishing deal with NOE for Harvest Moon in the region too.... which is probably in part helping push sales. Actually, I've noticed NOE tends to do lots of deals with JP publishers on their EU stuff (Atlus, Namco, Capcom, Square Enix, etc).

Well neither company(Disney, Nintendo, Sony) are "exclusive" partners in any sense. They all have a connection with each other in the games department and other areas.

If not PS3, then PS2 at least like you said. I don't think the Wii will be left out but I also find it unlikely that either the PS2 or 3 will. I'd like to see a "next gen" Kingdom Hearts though on the PS3, it was a really charming game.

The interview with Nomura on IGN was interesting as well regarding the "sequel", he mentioned how the next game wouldn't be KH3 but would deal with the universe. So either way both platforms are likely to get a piece of KH action.
Nomura Talks Kingdom Hearts Sequel
Square Enix planning an all new series.
by Anoop Gantayat

April 2, 2007 - With Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix + Re: Chain of Memories at last out in Japan, Tetsuya Nomura and crew can now devote all their energy to their next project. And that appears to be another Kingdom Hearts game, or at least another tie-up with Disney. But is it Kingdom Hearts III?

Speaking with Japan's Gemaga and Dengeki PlayStation publications, Nomura gave a few hints on the new project, which he's previously hinted would see formal announcement later this year.

Gemaga asked if the characters who appear in the new CG "secret movie" that has been added to Final Mix are from the new title. "They are people who have some relation to the new series," said the producer. "However the next title won't just be Kingdom Hearts III. If it were III, we wouldn't call it a new series."

Asked if Sora and Riku would make an appearance in the new game, he said with a laugh, "I can't say." He also hinted that the new game would have something to do with Xehanort, the main villain of the Kingdom Hearts series.

He was just as direct when Dengeki PlayStation asked for some details on the new title. "First, it's not Kingdom Hearts III. Of course, because we're calling it a 'new' series, it won't be KHIII. Also, it's a series, so it probably won't be just one title."

Nomura once again promised an announcement of the new game, whatever it may be, some time this year. In the meanwhile, he suggested that players attempt to unlock the Final Mix secret movie and start imagining.

isnt he just talking about the portable games in that interview? kind of fits. those games are the next KH games, and they arent KH3. i forgot when they were announced though. if it was before april 2007 then nevermind.

The portable games were announced at TGS 07, can't remember the date but I'm sure it was a little while after April. It could be just those that he was referring to.

At the end of 2007 Famitsu has it at 789K, up from 744K at the middle of the year. Wouldn't be too see it make the 2008 Top 500 and break 800K, but 900K or more seems far-fetched.

hmm.. i may be wrong but Media-Create/Famitsu doesn't count import sales and with it being one of the most imported games for the DS i assumed that it will push it up to or close to 900k.

I'd think they'd get the sale counted at export at least, I doubt NCL distributes directly overseas? I mean, wouldn't *all* game sales be somewhat undertracked then?

Though big anime DS games do tend to get imported more probably., I mean, I can walk into Best Buy and pick up JUS or various Naruto games...

Monster Hunter 2G has a shot to surpass MH2nds LTD in its fith/sixth week. Mario Kart Wii sales aren´t bad either.

So Nintendo restocked within first week?

IIRC when Sinobi posted the first set of numbers he mentioned that there was a second shipment within the first week. A good deal of the time, though, people only translate Sinobi's numbers instead of his often insightful commentary.

lol @ MK DS in the top ten.

MK Wii did really well (once again showing that on consoles in Japan, the Mario Kart games seem more popular than the main Mario games).

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
No hardware bump for Wii (I kind of expected that), but its still doing decent...PS3 on the other hand....yikes

lol! MGS4 needed now!

You're nuts if you think MGS4 is going to do away with the magical 500k cap (--it might break 500k through extended sales, but not during its active weeks on the chart) or move hardware beyond the first few weeks.

The 8400 number is particularly striking given that many folks thought a new weekly baseline of 25-30k had been reached post-holiday. Looks like no.

I reckon there might be a bump in the MC data and Ps3 will still be over 10k.

Mario Kart Wii's sales don't surprise me at all. It's a great product, and even the Wii Wheel isn't such a bad way to play the game. Expect it to beat Smash Bros. X in the long run.

Am I mistaken, or would 8400 for the PS3 be it's lowest number ever?

DBZ: "It's below nine-thousand!"

I would say this was a minor bump.

No PS3 game has broken 400K in Japan according to Famitsu.
