So it's pretty much confirmed PSP took over again this week? Good for Sony. I wonder if they are profiting off the HW yet.
what do you mean by took over again this week? you mean with the top selling game?

I know 35K a week is pretty stellar, but I really thought WiiFit would be selling 50K consistently. I wonder if that'll show the same kind of legs as WiiSports?

Do we have any impressions or scores on LA2?
Nothing from gaffers unfortunately, and Famitsu gave it the same scores as the first I believe. According to imageepoch's blog (translated by duckroll), Shuetsu Kadowaki was the director of the game this time. Hopefully that means it's better than the first.

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.

Once one household buys it that's it though, and it is more expensive.

Quite a discrepancy on MK compared to Famitsu. Slow week all in all.

The Bleach HTS fanbase must be one of the most consistant, this one should go to around 80-90k as well. Do the games differ or is it just a yearly rooster update?

Valkyria Chronicles :( - That's really disappointing
Well it is the only PS3 game in the Top 30 and it held steady, though with the 10th best selling game at 10k that's not saying much. I thought it would do much worse, but in the end still rather disappointing sales for Sega.

Wait, so households need more than one copy of WiiSports?

are these sales normal or are we seeing an unusual dip?

also, it's quite interesting how far Monster Hunter has gone on PSP. i would say it is one of the best system sellers to come in years if it can manage to keep the PSP that high (and being good enough in multiplayer so that people purchase it instead of pirating it)

the Mario Karts still hold their own.

Actually, the kitty is enjoying itself, so not to worry. :)

These software numbers are low, and hardware is down across the board, except for psp.
Don't you mean especially for PSP?

It's the week after Golden Week, this usually happens.

It's usually just roster updates. But there's game play changes as well. Bleach owns!:D \

Oops, I meant hardware year over year is down across the board, except for psp. PSP hardware is up, year over year, I believe. Don't have my spreadsheet in front of me, but I'm pretty sure psp hardware is up, year over year.

Exactly.

Any insights as to why it sells so awfully? (aside from it being on ps3 lol)

So Valkyrie Chronicles underperformed? I hope the western audience latches on to the title a lot more than the Japanese market. The game deserves more.
It performed to or even above expectations, but certainly hasn't made back the money Sega put into it.

I'm sure they were expecting RGG Kenzan to give PS3 a sizeable hardware bump for some time when deciding the budget for Valkyria, which just didn't happen.

Ah OK, thanks for the info. Not too crazy about Bleach myself though.

It could become a sleeper hit, which would be awesome
I don't think so.

The original did 21k in the first week, for a LTD of 55k. And that was on the GC of 2005 (meaning deader than dead) :lol .

Fucking Japan, you rather buy a crappy Mario Kart than buy SMG, the greatest game of this gen. At least it's nice to see a PW game in the list.
Best MK since SMK :D .
