Glad to see Super Paper Mario holding strong. He actually gained one place from last week :) . Big Brain Academy is at the exact same place as it was last week. Both are showing reasonable legs.

Anyone have RE4 numbers for Japan? IIRC the PS2 version did better over there, so I guess 44k isn't that suprising?

Aren't those like double the first Ouendan's sales?
Also suprising to see that Super Paper Mario and Brain Academy have legs (somewhat).

The 'H' stands for hentai.

There is no doubt that Ouendan 2 will outsell it's predecessor like how Gyakuten Saiban 4 sold more than Gyakuten Saiban 3.

The question will be, by how much?

So where does this rank for a first week RE game?

Isn't this the worst opening ever for a numbered RE game, not counting the DC/GCN ports of RE2/3? Or did Deadly Silence do worse?

The GCN version opened 3.5x higher, and the PS2 version almost double that.

It appears that Japan is worn out on RE4. Hopefully the US sales will pick up the slack, the Wii really needs this game to do well (500k+ WW) for 3rd parties to take it seriously for M-rated content and complex action games.

Edit: Some quick and dirty calculations show that Wii Sports is going to outsell Final Fantasy XII in about 6 months if it continues at its current rate. 0_o

Everybody knows it's a full-price port of a two year old game... I doubt they expect all THAT much.

nah Nintendogs is obviously Jesus. NSMB is like, a disciple or some shit.
Except Nintendogs is at ~1/3 NSMB in Japan.

I don't understand why they priced it like that in Japan while we're getting it so cheap.

call me crazy, but I bet if the wii had something like....RE5 it miiight sell a bit more than a remake of a port. But that would be too logical for publishers I guess. Obviously if a remake sells poorly it means 3rd party M rated titles just wont sell on wii.

Obviously past precedent showed that RE Zero sold much better than REmake in Japan, but we already know RE 5 isn't coming out on Wii.

So the question is, if Capcom sees RE: Umbrella Chronicles become a huge hit (relative to RE4 Wii or even RE5), will they simply create more on rails games for the Wii and keep the traditional games off of the system?

how much WW has NSMB sold"? I was going by worldwide #s and nintendogs 14 million or something absurd like that.
WW numbers mean nothing in a MC thread. :)

RE4 is full price in japan? damn that sucks, I'm already having a hard time buying it again at $30 (even though it was a great game).

But for an enhanced port 29 months after the original release?

Well then, how did Code Veronica X do in 2001?

Thank you.

Sorry for spamming the first page, I just really want to see games like this do well so the Wii doesn't get pigeonholed too early in its life.

According to Famitsu it debuted at ~184,000 (or 181,000, can't remember the thousands digit) and ended up somewhere near 400K. The GCN port sold less than 10K, and it was the third version.
