Wii Fit already has over a 100k lead on the PS3, so I doubt it's gonna happen next week.

I would say "prepare to be devastated" but the average MC-reader should be able to recognize that the PS3 has sold less than 25k for 18 weeks in a row (4.5 months). MGS4 will do very little to change that.

So the PS3 could potentially have the best selling game three weeks in a row. This week with Dragon Ball, next with MGS4 and if MGS4 has a decent second week it could also claim the #1 spot the following week. Or am I missing some other big releases for other systems? (Tales is coming out on the 26th right?)

I'm not sure what the competition is, but for comparison here's MGS2 and 3's first and second weeks, to see the drop. Famitsu numbers.

I think many MGS4 bundles will be sold on the back of one of the most anticipated games for the PS3. I think the PS3 number next week will be larger than 25K (since it's normal PS3 sales + bundles). But you're right, it'll probably not be able to overtake Wii Fit LTD

So the PSP keeps on selling the most. Does anybody know what the Japanese are playing on PSP now (is it really only Monster Hunter?)? How often do you see people in public with a PSP, are they playing on it, or using it for media? And if they are playing, are the games warez or not?

Here in Holland I see some people using the PSP mostly for media, the 'cool' youth is waving them around showing the shiny handheld and listening to the latest rap music. The older people are watching TV shows mostly. When someone is actually playing their PSP it's either a NFS or FIFA.

DS is seen the most in public, mostly by kids playing Pokemon. Older people (up to 30 I guess) are either playing Training games or using a flashcard.

I sat next to a girl in the subway, she played Loco Roco and seemed to enjoy it quite a lot. One guy in a convenience store had it linked up to a sound system and used it as a music player. I saw people using the PSP as a navigation system in their car. All in all I'd say the gaming/media ratio is well mixed.

I dont know about first day, but here are the first week's numbers atleast posted in the previous Media Create thread by donny2112:

1st week/LTD

MGS: 317K / 706K (45% 1st week)
MGS2: 457K / 798K (57% 1st week)
MGS3: 487K / 820K (59% 1st week)

2 and 3 had the added advantage of launching shortly before New Year's.

EDIT: I guess you ment other first day sales from other games yesterday, not other Metal Gear Solid games, sorry
