You can't fight pachinko and Evangelion. Unless you're Mario or something.

It's good to see Ouendan 2 sticking in there.

Ahhh! RE4 only dropped to #11. That's a good sign (even if we aren't given numbers). Considering that #10 is ~20k, it wouldn't be a bad guess that RE4 is at least >15K for the week.

WHY do people buy Pachinko games in Japan? Isn't that the equivelant of buying the Deal or No Deal game in the US?

It's like buying a pokie machine compilation, except their pokies have anime, manga or video game tie-ins.

To continue from the other thread ...

The software-only site is shutting down, right?

Very nice for RE4: Wii. I'll be picking it up next week in the U.S. :D

Edit:
9 straight DS games from 12-20. Nice. :)

Only 1 PS2 game in the Top 30. The PS2 has fallen off far more quickly than I would have imagined at the start of the year.

No, it's worse, because at least with Deal or No Deal, there's some level of interaction. You aren't just watching the cases open themselves.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what was the initial shipment?

We'll find out roughly what it is tomorrow night. But reports out of Osaka and various other places indicate low stock.

Dead Rising is releasing nearly a year later in Japan than the US? What's the reason?
Re-releasing. Platinum hits version I'm assuming. Some with most of the other "new" 360 titles for next week.

It was already released in Japan and is one of the top sellers on the 360 overall. Maybe it's a budget re-release?

Sony's coming back, oohhh yeah baby!

Seriously though, anyone wanna predict how much those games at 1,3 and 4 will drop next week?, PSP games need legs and it seems only The Lion War provides some (still no-where near DS-type legs)

Another week for the Zombie games as well (NSMB and More Brain Training)

Playing pachinko is really really expensive, it can be anywhere from 10 dollars to 100 dollars a game in a pachinko parlor. My guess is that people buy these to practice at home. Every pachinko game has its own peg pattern and finding the hotspot takes some skill (apparently, I've only played pachinko once).

Also I think people just like playing pachinko.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully this version will have bigger text ;-) Perhaps it'll have new missions and costumes.

Dead Rising, Bullet Witch, Tenchu Z, GRAW, and Fight Night Round 3 are all part of the Platinum Collection budget re-releases this coming week.
