I knew MC would undercount DQS for some reason... now opposite of Zelda PH.

Pokemon sales are going up again thanks to the movie.

Wow... lower than I thought was reported for DQ:Swords. Still good, just a little lower. Zelda keeps chugging along, though.

Oh yes, thank you.

Hang in there Chibi-Robo. I hope it can crack 150,000 mark. I wonder what kind of sales they were anticipating with this title?

26. [360] Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (Ubi Soft)

Shane Kim redeemed. :lol

Amazing that even PS2 games can't show legs in the face of the Nintendo onslaught.

Great start for Dragon Quest Swords, I hope it can keep it up and get to the 600k mark sometime down the road.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
Much lower than I expected for Swords..still impressive though.

In one week, Dragon Quest Swords managed to outsell the LTD totals for Blue Dragon and Trusty Bell combined.

In some circles, this is known as an "oh snap".

you can't put a price on sparks
200k first day sales ended up only have 60k the rest of the week?

seems kinda low compared to most of the predictions i think...i thought it'd get at least 320k

I can't tell if thats impressive for DQ:S or not.

I expected the fact that its DQ and being the first big 3rd party game on the Wii would arrant a lot more sales.

Can any one tell me what the userbase for the GCN was when FFCC came out and what was FFCC's first week. Cause GCN was a pretty dead system in terms of software sales, so I'd expect DQ:S to do much better than FFCC considering

1.Wii is the hot system right now.
2.There is 0 high profiles 3rd party games on the Wii right now
3.DQ>FF in popularity in Japan.

Wow. Zelda really is raking it in. It constantly surprises me how games that sold mildly well on the Cube or Wii are becoming breakout success stories via the DS. Nintendo has positioned the DS brilliantly with the marketing thus far.

The Wii is where the GCN was at the end of 2003 or so, so the userbase is bigger for the Wii now than the GC was when FFCC came out.

Jeeze why even bother waking up in the morning?

Nintendo is going to have to make some new consoles just to create some competition at the rate this is going.

Famitsu numbers--the ones we get first day sales from--have it at 300k for the week. MC is probably undercounting on this one, though I'll wait for Vinnk's report to see how much weight the rumors about it being sold out actually bear.

this is what's wrong with sony and microsoft's efforts so far in japan. there is almost never a 360/ps3 game in the top 30. when there is one, odds are better than even that it will be a western game.

How did that happen?

Just like there's a niche hardcore JRPG fanbase here in America, I'm pretty sure there's a niche hardcore "shootan games" fanbase in Japan.

I know Mega Man isn't really all that popular anymore, but some part of me still pangs at My Household Diary doubling up on a new Mega game.

It would help if tCapcom hadn't run MegaMan into the ground, it's not like the latest two incarnations are anything to write home about. I mean MegaMan Zero and Battle Network those got good sales and rightfully so, but the latest two are pretty trashy. If Capcom wants a new highselling MegaMan game, they should bring it into a new genre in a new way, that's what made Battle Netwrok such a hit in Japan.

I'd speculate about it being an all Nintendo chart next week, but the cheap version Monster Hunter 2 comes out for the PS2 tomorrow along with a couple of other things. I think the big question is which version of Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu will sell better, Wii or PS2?

If the first shipment was 350k, a 75% sellout is still really good.
