Well, if Wii Sports/Wii Play are any indication..its going to be another record low Wii week. Possibly 30K?

Wii sales are low because Nintendo is moving units intended for Japan to boost sales in America.

:lol ffs the demand has become lower for now, they are available everywhere in Japan. When games come out it will go back up anyway.

Wrooooooooooooong. Wii demand has dropped, plain and simple.

What's up with Wii Play outselling Wii Sports 2 weeks in a row?

Wii Sports used to be the game that people bought with Wii, now MP8 is that game. People still want Wii Play for controllers, however.

What a slow week in general .The low Wii Sports and Play figures are a reference point for low (in comparison to pre weeks)Wii hardware sales again,I guess .

Ow at Liberty City Stories. San Andreas was released in January of this year in Japan and sold 300,000+ total, 227,000 in the first week.

Probably a slow week for everyone actually. There seems to be very little going on, altho I would expect higher sales for FF:CC. Then again I think all FF games on DS have been selling in the 300,000?

Yeah but this is PSP "Stories", not a big time GTA game.

EDIT: Oh yeah this is the PS2 version. Anyway I guess it having being released on PSP already doesn't help:)

So it seems when Wii has low sales, every other console system also get low sales.

Wii the only one holding up console sales in Japan confirmed?

More like major lack of games. Everything good is on DS, and a bit on PSP now that it is getting good games (specifically, MOAR RPGs!).

It's back to school so you won't see crazy sales for a while.

That really has that large of an effect on things? Interesting

The thing to wonder now is what is the Wii's low point, i.e where will it stabilize? 30K? Maybe even lower?

Oh, I'm specifically talking about consoles actually.

DS and PSP seem par on course.

I'd say the combination of that and no games, games are more of a deciding factor. DS is really strange though, could be saturation.

I'm not too surprised. When school was out, Wii and DS were the perfect things for parents to buy their kids to keep them busy while they were home. Now any kid asking for it will likely be told "Wait for the holidays"

Ok.. to tell the truth, I am a little surprised. I thought it would do 50k+ in the months leading up to the holidays and then explode as they arrived. If this was any other two systems the slump would be nothing out of the ordinary, but the Wii and DS seemed to be above all of that.

You obviously haven't been here for a while. Bladestorm was there last week and HSG5 was in there for a few weeks....

Good. I'm glad. I hope these systes plummet even further. Maybe then Nintendo will get the message that if they want their machines to sell, they need to put out quality games and they need to give on-the-fence potential buyers a reason to be optimistic enough to invest in the hardware.

If these sales lead to Nintendo finally releasing their plans beyond the next three months then thank God.
