Media Create Sales: August 30-September 5

farnham has gone crazy DQX will sell no matter the system the question is how much .
I still see it selling at least 3 million or maybe SE will do something no one expects and bring it out on PS3 also. (don't see this happening)
Sony can bundle it with move then i see it selling at least 4 million.

It terms of software the ps3 going to kill Wii in 3rd party sales.
While Nintendo beat everyone thanks to there first party sales.

Then 3DS take crown after it out for few months for everything .

i think its widely believed that square enix has little to no creative control over the mainline DQ series

if hori wants it on wii its going to stay there.

How ??
I see DQX selling 3 million on Wii and maybe if bring out on PS3 they can get another million maybe getting it to 4 million.
Maybe i was not clear 4 million maybe in all .

gundamkyoukai said:

By proffering up one of the dumbest possible variants of the "DQX will move/get ported to system X!!!" meme which itself is universally representative of the person saying it not understanding anything about Dragon Quest as a series or how its platform is selected.

I've been trying to come up with an equally ludicrous example to give people when they do this, and the best I can come up with is if you suggested that maybe this year Madden would become exclusive to 360.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd will not outsell Pokemon Black & White. It's not even guaranteed to outsell Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. Those are Capcom's expectations, but we all know they don't always reach them.

"Nearly shipping 100k"? Try more like 76k.

That seems like a reasonable first (and possibly only) shipment for the series given its history, and it will be interesting to see what kind of drop-off it has next week and whether it might manage a small second shipment.

I think we can now draw some lines about the list of the potential best-sellers on 3DS. We know that Persona, MegaTen, FF, DQ, Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, MH, Brain Training, Western games and some more will land on 3DS.

The DS itself has 30+ million sellers.

The 3DS could end up at 50+ ?

You know, I don't toss this kind of idea around for just any game, but there's a reasonable chance that it was physically impossible to manufacture more cartridges in the given time frame.

Just saw a new scan of Cardboard Troopers/Senki and still says 2010. It should be on that list.

And on a related note, is there anyone who still thinks that psp2 will be announced at TGS even when everything points otherwise?

PSP2 will be Sony's biggest secret (ever?) if it is announced at TGS. I find hard to believe it will be there and nothing has leaked yet. Unless they show only a logo.

Very impressive!

Still I concede the point, the PSX might have been replaced at that point but it was still tops when DQ VII came out.

Wii will still be tops when DQ X comes out, but not in exactly the same way.

Would be weird, too much support on the PSP right now. Not just this year but many 2011 things still in the works/being announced. Although I still expect a PSP-4000, that would be also be announced closer to its release, which everyone would probably want around MHP3.

Sony is in a really shitty position for PSP2.

PD: Oh, I totally expect Level-5 to delay Starship Senki to 2011 eventually. Probably still using 2010 just because they haven't announced otherwise yet.

I would gladly buy a PSP-4000 because my PSP-1000 is falling apart pretty fast with all the gaming I have been doing on it.

About new releases. DS release schedule looked emptier than Wii's, but the last 2 months there is a ''ton'' of new announcements. For PSP this is expected since the successor doesn't look close but for DS it shows that the transition won't be as sharp as the one with GBA. Big games have all gone to 3DS (unless Pokemon Grey is also DS compatible) but DS will keep getting smaller projects and maybe won't let 3DS take off so early at its life like DS did. These are some of them:

[NDS] Zack & Ombra: The Phantom Theme Park (Konami)
[NDS] Magician’s Quest: The Merchant’s Store of Sorcery (Konami)
[NDS] Super Robot Wars L (Bandai Namco)
[NDS] Momotaro Railway: World (Hudson)

[NDS] SaGa 3: Shadow or Light (Square Enix)
[NDS] Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2 (Capcom)
[NDS] Shiren the Wanderer 5: Fortune Tower and the Dice of Fate (Chunsoft)

Yep, Nintendo had a easier time (or probably had a much better planning) because most high profile third party games were released before the announcement of 3DS. Sony wouldn't be in this position if Capcom started working on MHP3 earlier and S-E didn't take 3 years to develop most of their psp games. It's one of the downsides of a resurrection in the middle of the generation.

PD: Oh, I totally expect Level-5 to delay Starship Senki to 2011 eventually. Probably still using 2010 just because they haven't announced otherwise yet.

If they delay the game I think it will be because there's too much competition to launch a new IP in November/December.

How well can it sell shovelware to undiscerning parents? Thats the real trick. Also Persona and SMT are not gonna be best sellers unless Persona gets a big jump in fanbase over 4.

About new releases. DS release schedule looked emptier than Wii's, but the last 2 months there is a ''ton'' of new announcements.

[NDS] Shiren the Wanderer 5: Fortune Tower and the Dice of Fate (Chunsoft)
I cannot stand that Shiren 3 Wii version, Shiren GBC 2 DS, Shiren 4 DS and Shiren 5 DS are not in Europe.

Maybe later on something will arrive for smartphone and iPhone, still I prefer to have them on gaming devices.

This talk about PS1 sales is interesting. With 3DS going to sell a lot of software and DS still selling software, maybe Nintendo tried to kill off Wii software sales to not have to have four systems selling significant software on the market at the same time when Wii 2 comes out next year. Yeah! That's it! Nintendo's whole crazy, stupid, idiotic Wii plan in Japan explained!

Oh, my.
