NSMB Wii's numbers are amazing (as are FF XIII's), but I have to say that PokePark somewhat surprises me more. :lol

What are the totals for PS3 hardware in Japan? That attach ratio for FF13 must be off the charts.

And because I do not want to trudge through the official thread, what is the consensus on FF13 compared to X, X-2, and XII?

71,000 for Inazuma Eleven 2? Damn. And it hit the 800k mark that Hino said he hoped the game would reach... even though it seemed like such a longshot back then.

Wait...Inazuma could hit a million ? AWESOME !!!!

Selling 70k in a week at this late date, with 800k sold through and 200k sitting in stores, yeah, I'd say a million is a pretty sure bet.

Awesome FFXIII sales. It is the first million-selling "HD" game in Japan, isn't it?

With Final Fantasy's numbers old news at this point, Inazuma is the big story. It's above 800,000 and posting a big number. It'll definitely reach a million copies at some point.

Pokepark is certainly surprising. I didn't really expect it to have good legs but I think the low price definitely helps especially given the target audience. Smart move on Nintendo's part for sure. It looks like PSP2 is probably going to settle with a LTD close to 500k, which while isn't bad, is probably disappointing since Sega and Alfa expected PSP2 to be bigger than PSP, like how MHP2 was bigger than MHP.

With the 54% increase from last week, New Super Mario Bros. Wii will have better "legs" to reach four million or more in Japan. I wonder where it is in its place among Super Mario games in Japan.

Also, I quickly noticed that Tales of Graces, Modern Warfare 2 (both versions), and the Naruto game have dropped from the Top Ten list. It was as I expected, but for Tales fans, the fact that Graces has quickly dropped out of the Top Ten is not good news.

Finally, are there any predictions on where Final Fantasy XIII will be next week or how many copies it will sale? I predict that it will lose at least 50% of its sales next week, but somehow manages to keep its #1 spot. I would not be surprised if it falls to #2 or #3 spot.

Phantasy Star is in 9th position with 50,000 sold.

Wow. New Super Mario Bros. Wii already sold better than all 3D Marios. Why the fuck did it take so long for a 2D Mario to appear on a console again?

HOLY SHIT NO TALES OF GRACES :lol

No way it will do 50 percent, 300k seems reasonable.

First million selling third party game on consoles this gen too. Just pipped MH3 at the post. (well I suppose more like leaped)

NSMBW is insane. If this game survives the usual Nintendo post-holiday drop then they don't even need a Q1 lineup.

I forgot to realize that I am looking at the Media Create chart and not Enterbrain's which has Wii Sports Resort in the 9th position instead of Phantasy Star Portable. I will edit what I said as it was a mistake.

Hey, I was simply disputing that it would do nothing for the hardware itself, which I guess we can never prove either way. But yeah, the software has done really well and I certainly didn't expect that. :)

I didn't expect Queen's Blade to do that much.

Pretty good sales for PSP2 too.

I hope FFXIII will hit 2 millions soon :D (maybe not this week, but before the end of the year).

I really enjoyed X which seems to fit that bill. Are people enjoying it as much as X?
I dont know but some people say its more linear and theres less exploration than X.I also heard the characters are kinda weak but the battle system is good.I also really like X.so if its similiar than great.

I really have no problem with linear JRPG's. I think in order to really tell a compelling story and develop characters you need a more linear experience. Extensive player choice in where to go and when just makes it nearly impossible to keep a cohesive narrative going. Linear with optional side quests is fine by me with my JRPG'S. I expect that out of Final Fantasy. I can play Oblivion or Fallout if I want that other RPG experience. Which I do enjoy equally, but that is not what I want out of Final Fantasy.

It needs to sell over 300k this week to stand a chance for that.

Edit: Can you guys take specific game discussion out of sales threads. Unless it has direct relation to a sales discussion, this is not really the place, thanks.

Apologies. I was trying to find a more neutral ground to ask a few questions about FF13 and this was not the proper place.

Um, how exactly is FFXIII number's surprising? X, X-2 and XII all did similar, if not far better, numbers as this.

There is this thing called difference in installed hardware base, you know. PS2 around that time was 5,2-5,4, while PS3 is at least 20% lower now.

I would say install base plays a factor in it plus general popularity of the platform, but I do not see all that much general surprise in this thread to begin with.
