ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Wow, I expected too high for SO4I (150k). :p

While I am not happy about the lack of improvements in SO4I, I am glad to see that this is probably the first truly international release, and hope more are like this in the future. I don't see how it can possibly hurt for games released to have the option to play in both Japanese and English (and whatever other languages they want to add) Seems wasteful to remove the Japanese text/voice when bringing the game outside of Japan.

Er, I guess Star Ocean 4 isn't going to pull a Vesperia. Looks like it'll be lucky to pass the 360 version at this rate ._.

I guess we'll see if Japan is sick of monster hunter clones (well, not clones, but vaguely similar games) in a month, when Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 comes out. But so far, apparently not (though nothing can beat the original, which hangs in there every week...)

NSMB Wii drops in the past 3 weeks have been {-18k, -26k, -28k}...It is starting to lose ground in comparison to NSMB DS's first 10 weeks, which is to be expected, due to differences in release date in the year. I wonder to what 'equilibrium' level it will drop to; the DS version was somewhere around 30k weekly, but it will probably be below that.

just watched trailer for god eater as i didnt know what it was... looks rediculous

not saying it looks like a bad game... i think the oversized swords made me roll my eyes and the mixture of dramatic japanese speech and melodramatic english popesque song added to the muddled mess of naffness

subsequent milking expected

Pop 'N Music Portable sure fared a lot better than the Wii game, heh. The new Wii DDR also seems to have crashed, wonder why other music games can't take off after Taiko's success. Makes me wonder what could have happened if they just ported the Pop 'N game to the Wii, instead of making some strange new version that no one wanted.

Didn't notice before but SO4 International is going to do pretty similar to SO3 Directors Cut (all following data is from Famitsu):

PS2 Star Ocean 3 Directors Cut - 81,629 (LTD: 146,859)
PS3 Star Ocean 4 International - 84,882 (Shipped: 150,882)

Huh, funny. Another one, both SO4 are going to follow closely the PSP remakes:

360 Start Ocean 4 - 208,521 (LTD)
PSP Star Ocean 1 - 204,996 (LTD)
PS3 Star Ocean 4 - 150,882 (Shipped)
PSP Star Ocean 2 - 143,424 (LTD)

Ace Combat goes Monster Hunter, too

I expected 500k for God Eater :/

SO4 is doing "fine", in comparison to EoE (for a year old port VS new game).

You might have missed out an important thing of the equation.
The part is: Star Ocean is an estabilished franchise, with decade-long fans out there.
End of Eternity had no such help at its launch.

I wonder if Sakamoto is hot shit around the Nintendo offices now that his last few games, Rhythm Heaven and Friend Collection, have been huge sellers. Before this his games (Metroid, WarioWare) have always been smaller sellers (in Japan at least).

WarioWare has pretty much always been a great seller in Japan...

I wouldn't call WarioWare small seller in Japan with the exception of last entry that tried to take a different approach.

Err, ok, you know I was joking but I think I was joking with the wrong game. For some reason I thought that was Zettai Hero.

Yes, I know, I'm dumb. Laugh at me.

Yeah you're right I just looked at that after I wrote it. Up and down but definitely the portable ones have been good sellers. Wario Ware Touched did great. Over 1 million!

Actually Nintendo marketing have a huge hand in this. Warioware and Twisted did great but not blockbuster, but they were on the GBA and didn't have as wide of an audience. If those games came out now I'm sure they'd have such large exposure that they'd do over 1 million.

Matt said:

Rhythm Heaven and Friend Collection are definitely bigger, but WarioWare is no slouch. Touched! in particular was the first original (read: Not Super Mario 64) DS million seller.

Is there a possible way to import this and play it on a European PSP2000? Play-Asia doesn't ship to Europe and they state it's region locked? I thought PSP games aren't at all?
Is it avaiable in the Japanese PSP Store?

PSP games are region free, it will work. I'm in the UK and just waiting on my copy shipping. Try eBay, there should be plenty of copies for sale there.
