Since when did Capcom release LP: Colonies on PS3?

I'm surprised only 3 of the 17 new games in Top30 (Famitsu) have a <50% sell-through. Many titles underperforming but at least they didn't get overshipped.

NDS SRT OG Endless Frontier - 90,248 (LTD 120,556)
NDS SRT OG Endless Frontier EXCEED - 78,700 (85%)
With a fair Fami vs Fami, its not down as much as MC (65k), and it has one of the highest sell-throughs of new titles. Legs not expected though so seems to have been handled pretty well.

PS2 Kenka Banchou - 41,843 (LTD 108,958)
PS2 Kenka Banchou 2 - 43,087 (LTD 85,632)
PSP Kenka Banchou 3 - 48,865 (LTD 139,300)
PSP Kenka Banchou 4 - 72,900 (76%)
Just wow. Last one already did great and had some tremendous legs which seems to have translated into a quite bigger 1st-day-fanbase. Legs will most likely be smaller this time, but it should still outsell KB3 and maybe top 150k.

PSP Minna no Golf Portable - 66,079 (LTD 399,257)
PS2 Minna no Tennis - 210,392 (LTD 535,826)
PSP Minna no Golf Portable 2 - 85,866 (LTD 287,296)
PSP Minna no Tennis Portable - 45,200 (60%)
You could say that Tennis on PS2 was half as popular as Golf ones at best (535k vs 1.2m vs 1.7m), and the PSP one isn't that far off the Golf PSP ones start, but in the end its just underperforming. This should be SCEJ biggest series. As much as I wanted MintenP, it just went under the radar like MingolP2. Maybe they should go back to PS3 now that it seems it hit a slightly bigger mainstream userbase. Worried they could try something stupid with Arc myself :/

NDS Shiren the Wanderer DS - 79,932 (LTD 195,052)
WII Shiren the Wanderer 3 - 58,507 (LTD 97,227)
NDS Shiren the Wanderer DS 2 - 47,429 (LTD 85,790)
NDS Shiren the Wanderer 4 - 41,000 (64%)
New publisher, old were Sega, new one Spike. That's a fair point, but on the other hand it did less than Shiren 1 and Shiren GB2 remakes on DS, and less than Shiren 3 Wii which was a low point too. Franchise seems to need a bit more care from Spike than how it has handled it so far.

Sheesh, this took longer than I thought. Short version for other titles:

- NDS Higurashi 4 - 20,000 (68%)
DS ports going down. 43k -> 30k -> 26k -> 20k.

- PSP Kiniro no Corda 3 - 18,500 (79%)
- PS2 Kiniro no Corda 3 - 7,925 (70%)
PSP version alone is the biggest start for this franchise in garaph. Really good for a series this niche.

- 360 Borderlands - 17,900 (91%)
Undershipped but doesn't seem like 1st-party-publishing made it way bigger than it would have been as a 3rd-party-multiplatform-release.

- PSP Power Pro Success Legends - 15,900 (40%)
Still not sure what's this exactly. There's another weird Pawapuro coming to DS in two weeks. Numbers seem pretty low to be interesting to establish a lesser subseries. But they haven't announced yet whats they are doing with the PS2/Wii ones this year (2009/Next/MLB) either, which are certainly bigger deal than this yet their numbers aren't much better.

- PS3 Demons' Souls (PlayStation 3 the Best) - 15,800 (77%)
Holy fuck. Budget re-releases were hot this week. This one particularly is off the charts, certainly just a very few have their budget re-release do these numbers first week. For reference: MHP2G the best did 20k first week (and its now a million seller), yakuza 2 the best did 17,659 and its now over 200k. Used copies and this must be building a sizable fanbase for a sequel, SCE. Lets remember the original release only moved 36,794 first week. Also, 77% sell-through is bad for this game. Really. Budget re-releases are supposed to be available at any time, not to sell out! :lol

- NDS Estpolis - 14,100 (32%)
Bomba of the week, no doubt.

- PSP BlazBlue Portable - 13,600 (64%)
PS3 debut 35,522; 360 debut 22,841. Not too bad for a HD-to-PSP-port given Tekken 6, but nothing great either.

- 360 Espgaluda II Black Label - 12,300 (70%)
Death Smiles 20k > Mushihimesama 15k > Espgaluda II 12k. So-so?

- PSP Hitman REBORN! Kizuna no Tag Battle - 10,300 (50%)
Battle Arena 24k > Battle Arena II 16k > Tag Battle 10k. So-so?

- WII Budget re-releases
Pretty good. >5k budget re-releases are scarce, nearly three did.

Ahh, I need some rest.

On one hand, its nice to have an opinion be verified.

On the other hand, Nintendo isn't exactly being encouraged to release games when they can sell 30K plus week after week from one freaking game.

so this time they will release 3-4 games instead of 2-3 games and thats it ;-). Obviously it works. It is pretty much proven.

This year they're still releasing SMG2, Metroid, Xenoblade, The Last Story, and pretty obviously Zelda Wii. That's not bad at all and they still have things for 2011 (Pikmin 3, Project Sora's game, Retro's new game [not a factor for Japan though], probably another Intelligent System's game...)

Don't forget the unannounced Casual Game of the Year that'll probably be unveiled at E3.

The big question is when the hell Kirby Wii is out?

I'm sure they will have a great 2nd half of 2010. The fact remains that their 1st half of 2010 is utter shit and they don't deserve to be selling what they are selling.

Well, that game is sequel of a spin off of a spin off of a series that has a big title (Super Robot Wars).

True, probably a Vitality Sensor game.

Oh I agree that their lineup during the first half isn't that good, but whatever. If they're selling they're selling :p Doesn't really matter by what if they're still releasing all these games within the year anyway. Edit: Even in in the West!

#31 - #50 is up.

Muramasa is #31, go figure.

Seems like only ARF and DotNW out of the budget line did make the top 50. Edit: And maybe Wii Ski & Snowboard.

There has to be a stock difference for OPUC1 to be above Muramasa, as Muramasa was by far the highest one at Amazon for the longest time.

True, that Amazon is just one store, for all we know One Piece was selling faster than Muramasa at most other stores, and there you have the results.

"Probably another Intelligent System's game" is going to have a hard time competing against "Secret PS3 Game", though.

IS hasn't done much of anything lately. Thinking they'll have a new game in 2011 is perfectly plausible...

The Wii definitely got a boost from the budget release line. I'm betting a lot of gamers who were on the fence decided to bite on all of the good games being cheap. That has always been my strategy to game buying, come in late in the generation and sweep the bargain bins!

May as well post the other Wii budget sales:

#28 One Piece: UC1 7,500/7,500/68%
#39 DBZ: BT3 4,900/4,900/50%
#50 Wii Ski & Snowboard 3,500/3,500/36%
??? 428 3,400/37%
??? Arc Rise Fantasia 2,400/29%
??? Tales of Symphonia: DotNW 1,800/22%

Oh and Radirgy Noa Wii was at 700/29% Puny shipment.

Calculating the shipment percentages (amount sold divided by the percentage eg 0.50%), shows that by far Muramasa and One Piece did get the highest shipment at around 12,000.

Is MNT Portable a port of the PSP2 game or something new? The whole Minna series seem to be on a decline, I wonder if Arc will revive. MNG6 or MNG5 re launch with all DLC and trophy and CS patch, and a MNT PS3 at the Arc launch should give the franchise a much needed boost.

Not a port, its new but I don't think it messes with the first one gameplay. They added somewhat of a RPG mode (that I haven't seen explained so far), multiplayer modes (1vs1,2vs2), characters customizing (clothes, rackets). Played the demo and it felt weird, difficult to handle properly. Also I think it had just 6 or 8 slots for characters. They have been pretty silent about it, wouldn't surprise me if its clunky, or has little content.

Personally, I'd like something new next. I'm a big fan of futsal and an arcade-ish Minna no Futsal could be freaking great (11vs11 soccer is just too many people, big areas, strategy...but futsal 5vs5, small area, quick moves...). I doubt I'll get my wish though :(

Funny how similar game performances don't translate into similar all-around results.

I would have though NSMBW was the Wii's "Final Fantasy VII", the game that closes the gates, the game that confirms once and for all which should be the leading developing platform, etc.

I though the same of Wii sports, Wii fit, Mario kart.

I guess being the primary developing platform is not an accolade the Wii was meant to win for whatever reason.

If such a gate existed I imagine it would have been closed looooong before NSMBW.

The problem with SMG2, is that if (and this is a significant 'if', it's quite possible that it'll be a nonissue) it's the game as described from time to time in the past - for experienced players, more challenging - then it's the wrong game to come out after NSMBWii. If NSMBWii has got people now in-tune with the idea of playing Mario on a home console again, a game introducing them to the concept of 3D Mario would be better than one that assumes you're already familiar with the structure.

In short: An Everyone's Recommendation rerelease of SMG in the next few months could well be beneficial.

Does anyone happen to have the LTD for the 360 version of Biohazard 5 on Dengeki/ASCII? Because if we take their numbers for the two PS3 versions and then combine it with Famitsu's number for the 360 version, then Biohazard 5 is already at 895,000 in Japan. :O

I'm sure they will have a great 2nd half of 2010. The fact remains that their 1st half of 2010 is utter shit and they don't deserve to be selling what they are selling.

Maybe not for what is currently being released on the system. But, you have to remember there is a pretty decent backlog of Nintendo games that people are getting as well. That's why I suspect we keep seeing Wii Fit Plus, WSR, and MKWii on the charts after all this time.
