Better for Reginkleiv than many would have expected, but probably not as high as there may have been potential for. Probably would have been better off as a bargain title from the start instead of just being the victim of a (probable) price collapse.

It's crap sales for a big budget game. If you expected worse sales, you probably should have been in charge of the project so you could terminate it before it got off the drawing board.

It's also Sandlot's best first week since EDF2. I have no idea what the budget of the game was, but given their past games vs. sales, they can't be disappointed.

But Nintendo also could've done a lot more to help them.

I don't think I would call it big budget....it was probably higher budget than the EDF games because of having actual cutscenes, but then again it sold for a lot higher price than those games to increase profit margin.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the game broke even or made slight profit at 30-40k ltd sales. Even for wii it's pretty low-medium budget imo.

That's not saying much and the gap between EDF2 sales and this is pretty stark.

Now, now, I'm ready to defend any claim that the title should do better considering the development time and production values, but it is most certainly not a "big budget game" by any stretch of the imagination.

Monster Hunter-ish game. One of the many attempts to fill the void that Capcom has left...(another one in a couple weeks from Koei)

This will be interesting. There's no base to expect any noticeable hardware impact or software sales in the higher thousands (or even hundreds), but the concept for this line of cheap games is so nice that I really want to see how this turns out in the longer run.

Food for thought; Muramasa has been hanging around #40 overall for the past day or so and at least around #100 at Amazon for the past while.

I'm curious about how Borderlands will do, actually. I don't expect much from it, but its RPG elements might be somewhat appealing considering the weird thing Japan has for FPS' right now.

Also strange that Microsoft is publishing it.

True, but they do seem to be a bit more en vogue lately. Modern Warfare 2 had a ton of western hype, but I can't explain MAG at all.

No, no, of course not. But unless there's 30,000 PS3 owning American military snatching it up, it's still decent.

Remarkably consistent. I'm pretty sure we can get a decent estimate for total sales in say, half a year by multiplying that 38k by 26 and adding it on to the current total. Actually, I'd say 27, to account for Golden Week.

Just out of interest, I calculated. 3,843,000 total sales in 26 weeks time. That'll be the numbers we get on 19th August. Let's see if its consistency is completely predictable!

I wonder how the Wii hardware will do this week...it's been slipping...how long can NSMB hold it up?

Also if PS3 slim drops any lower I will be worried.

Edit: ^ both NSMB DS and NSMB Wii have god-like legs.
