Dang BB CS dropped like a rock.

ALso I thought Ina Eleven stuck on the charts really well for the last game, was that big of a drop expected for number 3?

This was how the last one performed, via Garaph.

Either Wii Party, with its insane word of mouth, will be bigger than Wii Fit, or Famitsu's numbers differ greatly from Media Create's.
Either way, it's definitely a good start.

Not quite as good as Wii Sports Resort or Wii Fit Plus, but again, if Famitsu's first day figures are an indication, it has great word of mouth.

Yes, it didn't push out as big a number as the third game, but the second didn't have the benefit of the World Cup being right around that time.

The second game had better legs, and went into the holiday season not too far from its launch.
The third doesn't have the benefit of a close holiday period, so it remains to be seen if its legs will hold up.
Given its second week, I think it can do better than the second, but I don't think it'll do that much more.
But again, it's just the second week, so it's still a little early to call.

Well the drop off was way more, but then maybe that is just because the fanbase got so huge and it will put up similar numbers going forward.

I didn't really know, just seemed like the fall was harder then I was expecting.

Wait, isn't that a bad for WKC2?

As I remember, The first one did well around 500k or so.

I was under the impression that it did like 330k or something, but I might be confusing lifetime with first week?

I'd say that's actually really good surprised I am.

From Wiki on WKC1:

Despite the lukewarm review, the game sold well; around 130,000 copies on its first day and around 207,000 on its first week in Japan.[12] As of December 31, 2009, it has sold 360,000 copies in Japan.

Wii Party did a lot better than I thought. The first day sales were really low. I guess that's a good sign that it will have some legs. I wonder if its any good though? Has anyone here played it yet?

Nintendo is really close to doing a real stealth release. imagine one random media create day you enter and see the latest Wii ____ game before it was even announced.

I actually think we wouldn't see it for a couple weeks if we ever did if they released that way.

I mean sure word of mouth can spread quick but I don't know if it would be fast enough to release without anyone knowing and then still chart.

Then again I could be horribly wrong.

I'm surprised that Wii Party is selling so well, considering that it was announced very recently. I know that I should not, but I am.

WKC 2 did 'okay' considering how lowly rate the predecessor was.

Evo pro Blue samurai challenge is selling surprisingly well though.

Wii Party already released? Wow! I thought those importer emails were just for preorders :lol

Well, is any part of Wii Party in English or does it have an English setting?

Scratch that, when is the US Release? Don't want to waste $80 for nothing when I JUST got my wii back

Some games are in english, some aren't.

The only date we got for USA release is this holiday.

Great improvement on first day figures for Wii Party - now to see what kind of legs the title will have.

SMG2 still remains ahead of SMG at this point in their respective lifetimes. Interestingly, next week will see SMG over the most of its holiday bump and SMG2 will still be ahead, albeit perhaps only 20-30k. SMG had another two 60k-ish weeks before rapidly dropping to sub-10k levels but even taking them into account, it will come out at week 11 or so just 100k or so ahead of SMG2. I really am beginning to wonder whether SMG could manage to pip its older brother here...

Art Academy still holding relatively well, but a bigger drop-off this week. Friend Collection is a monster as usual, and interesting to note that a few key Nintendo titles had a bit of a bounce this week. Xenoblade clinging on as well!

Poor Ghost Trick, though - better luck with the Best Price rerelease and (possible) sequel, Capcom!

Thanks! I Think I'll import maybe after i get paid this weekend or something. Believe it or not Wii Party is perhaps one of my most anticipated game, if not THE most anticipated aside from Metroid Gaiden.

Maybe sell it on Ebay before the US release like I've been doing as well!

Art Academy dropped two places and theres four new releases this week, its virtually a nil drop.

Everybody underestimated Wii Party... GAF being GAF. Now I'm sure Kinect will be a huge hit, and Move will flop.

I really dislike this way of thinking, and it seems to have become commonplace on GAF.

"Hey, we laughed off Wii and look what happened! Kinect is sure to be a massive success!"

That ignores the specific factors that made the Wii and its titles a success, and overlooks what seem to be some fairly large obstacles for Kinect (price, for one).

That Taiko Drum master, Is it the third one on the DS?

Also Love PLus + is slipping. I can't imagine Konami is happy with 150k LTD, didn't that game had insane amount of production value?

I said GAF still underestimates the Wii casual appeal. I don't contest that the Wii's initial success was unpredictable. I mean, everybody underestimated the Wii. And that's cool, such market trends are almost always a surprise. But, the thing is, most of GAF quickly dismisses the mainstream trends as a fad. It baffles me how to this day people still dismiss Wii titles as if Wii music is the norm.

Obviously, I'm with GAF on Kinect. I don't think it'll be a huge. But it is possible for Dance Central to become a Guitar Hero like success. And that could bring momentum to Kinect.

BTW, I was obviously joking in a "Octopus Paul get every World Cup winner right" kind of way.

Well, Wii Party was given so little hype by Nintendo I think it was reasonable for people to think it would start out lower.

Nintendo has spent a lot of money on a fun, colourful campaign for it. It's almost guaranteed to be the next Wii Fit (or maybe Wii Sports Resort).
