Also New Donkey Kong Country. :D
This thing with ''New'' was always puzzling me.
I think it has more to do with: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
and less with: New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

There was New Super Mario Bros that preceded it.

On DS, when on Wii there are:
Wii Sports
Wii Sports Resort
Wii Fit
Wii Fit Plus
Mario Kart Wii
Wii Music (even that).

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
Was there a new PSP model or color or something?

Rest of the Top 50 Media Create is up.

This I find puzzling:

Muramasa is #38 in Media Create this week, One Piece is #40. Famitsu has One Piece at #37, but Muramasa isn't in the Top 50 at all.

Why the vast difference here?

With One Piece at 3700 in Famitsu and #50 (Sacred 2 PS3) at 3000, it's fair to expect Muramasa is just barely behind, maybe even at 3000 as well for all we know.

On a positive note, while for a few days Muramasa was hovering at times below the top 100 (as low as around 140) at Amazon, it's now around 80 for the whole day. That's just one store though...

Wow at psp. Is it due to that new pink model? Wasn't there also a .hack bundle?
I don't think there was a .hack bundle but 3 pink models were indeed released on 3/4:
top_pspj30013.jpg

So about 14 SKUs right now for PSP-3000:
16,800Y core pack in Black, White, Gray, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and the new Pink
19,800Y value pack in Black, White, Red, Blue and the new Pink
21,000Y limited edition Pink Jill Stuart

I read that Yellow was going to be canceled as it sold the least though.

Yeah, it was in the MC blurb for the week. PS1 started slowly and picked up, whereas Wii started fast and slowed down, though. What did the PS1 end up at?

So much for God Eater being a Monster Hunter killer.

I wish we had those DQ Ultimate Hits. How is the box-art though? Do they look like crap like every Ultimate or Greatest Hits releases?

And the PSP Go, why bother. If that is tanking in Japan than why does Sony even care anymore?

i wonder how long it will take for PS3 to reach Saturn sales...
Another 5 weeks (avg. 28k) to reach 5 million. Anyone have the exact number for Saturn? I've only read that it sold around 5 million.

Looks like PS3 is holding at ~28000 baseline after slim + price drop, not bad.

Wii is also holding steady at ~33000. Last year I believe it was doing less than 20k around this time. With NSBM doing ~40000 every week I'm tempted to say that the baseline bump might also be an effect of the price drop.

Some of the PS3 sustain may be due to anticipation of RGG4. I expect it will drop a bit more in the weeks after its release.

Am I getting this graph right? I used GBA HF but not sure if its including GBA, GBASP and GBAMicro (I thought it was >16m?)
fam

Anyway, PSP is on track to outsell that this year, its about 1.5m off right now with 700k sold so far this year. Since it did 2.2m last year, repeating it would be enough.

Its their common Ultimate Hits brand:

I'm not surprised the wii slowed down: It hasn't exactly been embraced by the industry players. Japanese devs and publishers are mainly focussed the DS and PSP this gen, and most serious console efforts are put on the 360 and PS3 instead of the wii. It's no wonder wii sales have slowed to a crawl and fallen behind the PS2 and PS1 by several months.

Judging from what various retailer blogs are saying, it looks like Zettai Hero is selling pretty well relative to the shipment. It's selling out in many stores. I guess Nippon Ichi will not go out of business just yet.

Still page 1, we're dying here.

So, should we predict for Yakuza 4 week? Relive classic arguments about Monster Hunter 3 and/or Final Fantasy XIII? Wonder again when are Nintendo and Sony going to bother releasing something for their home systems? Come on!

Oh my! Kensakusu vs Goddoobuuo 3 vs Aranueiku!! Clash of the universe, no wonder they're gambling everything on one single card.

Yes, all 3 have one dated game each. Nothing more.

It's certainly nice to see Dragon Quest IX return to the top 10 after a short hiatus. At the rate things are going, does anyone think it still has a shot at 5 million?

Another thing worth mentioning is that New Super Mario. Bros Wii could become the best-selling Wii game in a few months. To my memory, Wii Fit is the best-selling title as of right now, correct?

The Pokemon franchise also seems to be on a decline on the DS. Pokemon Ranger: Tracks of Light debuted well below that of its predecessors, as did Explorers of Sky last year. Anyone think that the new Pokemon Ranger has a chance of reaching the sales of its predecessors?

And finally, now the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games have ended, will Mario & Sonic fall off the chart or will it hang around as an evergreen title?

Man what a crappy start for Link ;_;

Wasting time and content on 3player modes and w/e clearly wasn't worth it >.<;

to me, it looks like players are getting tired of pokemon spinoffs.

So what if Nintendo came out with a unique Pokemon spin-off - would sales be higher than usual or would they continue to decline?

Pokemon Ranger 3 was released on a Saturday, so it had two less days of sales compared to 1 or 2. Still probably wouldn't have done 2's numbers I guess (243,271 from Famitsu)

Explorers of Sky is the third version, obviously it won't do as well.
