PSP go 871
Just noticed this. Is this the first time the PSPGo has fallen below 1k?

I wonder if Sony is even still manufacturing these things anymore (although we probably would have heard about it if they had shut down all manufacturing completely). They still aren't anywhere close to even selling out their launch-day shipments yet in Japan. And the Go isn't putting up any worthwhile numbers anywhere else in the world either.

It actually probably makes a price drop more difficult for Sony when you get down to the ridiculously low manufacturing numbers that the Go must be at right now. Once you cross a certain numerical threshold, it becomes quite a bit more expensive to manufacture once the numbers get too low.

Top 20 + DS top 10 + PS2 top 10 (29/03/10-25/04/10):
I have to wonder why they even still bother with the PS2 top ten any longer. Damn near the entire top ten is like 2,000 units for the whole month. I'm not sure why they haven't switched over to reporting the PSP monthly top ten or the PS3 monthly top ten instead.

I predict Super Mario Galaxy 2 to sell around the level of Super Mario Sunshine.

Depressed? Me too. I hope I'm wrong. :(

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

I don't think that's ever going to happen. I can't imagine any situation where that can actually happen.

Maybe if they sell the game for 100Y or give it away for free. :p

FFX LTD was 2.3 Million before re-releases which took it up to 3 Million

So if we count FFXIII re-releases (& I'm sure ther'll be a Versus XIII + FFXIII combo like there was with X& X-2) then it will be well above 2 million.

With re-releases it will get there

On its own though its never getting there & I blame some secret propoganda

Not a great example. Let's look at how re-releases have sold since FFX:

Final Fantasy X International - 240k
Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission - 288k
Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System - 137k

Final Fantasy X Mega Hits - 199k
Final Fantasy X Ultimate Hits - 179k
Final Fantasy X International Ultimate Hits - 47k
Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimate Hits - 44k
Final Fantasy X + X-2 Ultimate Hits - 25k
Final Fantasy XII Ultimate Hits - 29k (Media Create number, waiting for Enterbrain 2009 Top1000)
Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System Ultimate Hits - 5k (Media Create number, waiting for Enterbrain 2009 Top1000)

It's obvious that FFX's huge sales in the budget re-releases is something that FFX-2 and FFXII does not share at all. This indicates that a budget FFXII release might not do enough to cover the 150k needed to break 2 million.

An International release will certainly help, but how well that sells will depend on how much additional content there is added, and even then, honestly I don't feel that International releases really "count" towards the original release since they can generally be considered as expansion packs or new releases in their own right. Even if there is one, and we do count it, it could end up doing 100k or less, and if there is only a single budget re-release this time, then even in 3-4 years FFXIII might still not have crossed 2 million in Japan combined.

Those should be the minimum legs on the game. If it actually has a 300K first week, 1m suddenly becomes a strong possibility.

64 DS outsold Galaxy 1 ? Daaaamn

I mentioned awhile back that I think Japan would be far more responsive to a New Super Mario 64 rather than any game with the Galaxy or Sunshine monicker. So I wouldn't say 3D Mario is a lost cause for Japan until Nintendo returns to SM64's style.

I've seen bttb has edited out his posts in this thread, any particular reasons? I thought about using Famitsu again through azalyn (compared leaked 3-9 may week with Famitsu top30 and it fits perfectly being always rounded to the lower hundred) but I guess its less risky to use Media Create.

He posted total software numbers thinking they were from 2009 Famitsu yearly report when they were actually from weekly top 30.

edit: He edited all his posts. I don't know why he did that.

Maybe if they sell the game for 100Y or give it away for free. :p

I know this is just a joke, but it would almost have to be that way. Stores in my town are selling brand new copies for 1600yen (and there are plenty of them) and used ones for as low as 900yen.

Unless the Ultimate Hits version adds a lot of new content, I don't know how square can expect people to spend the around 3000-4000yen those re-releases usually cost.

Huh? Ultimate Hits never have any new content. They're just re-releases of existing games, unaltered. The only ones with new content are the International versions, and those are all full price games, never budget.

I know. But in this case a regular UH has very little chance of selling. At least until all the low prices original copies have cleared out. But yeah, if it had additional content it would indeed be an international or some other special subtitle edition.

Like ALL of his posts in EVERY thread... How can you even do that without the forum search?

Weird.

3d version is eventually coming(one could assume) that should make a cool 10K extra!

Next week PS3 prediction: 26K

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this: Does anyone know the LTD Sales WW of every main Final Fantasy entry (even including x-2) including the latest one (FFXIII)?

Is it a mod's work?

bttb apparently left sales age the same way he joined: out of the blue at the top of his game. He was one person who enriched sales age by just being informative, no unneeded discussions and the likes. I still recall how he joined like an old veteran, irritating everyone with his "junior member" tag. :)

The only platform with BB initials I can think of is the balance board but the number is off.
A > 2 million system that is relatively unknown sound strange to me.
Bingo. This number is from November 2008.

For the week 03/11/08-09/11/08 it was

[WII] Wii Fit (Nintendo) - 15.840 / 2.696.700
and
PS3: 25.707 / 2.446.315

Sinobi was comparing PS3 to Balance Board install bases. Road must have also found what LA meant.

If I post Famitsu top 1000 when it comes out and after that start deleting all my posts we will have finally found what happened to bttb.
If he deleted only the posts that were connected with Media Create and Famitsu top 1000 I would assume that geimin.net was the only problem but the fact that he deleted all his posts (with Media Create and Enterbrain trying lately to clear every leak there is) makes me wonder if any tracker directly contacted him...
