Fairly decent HW Bundle deal.

Also When I meant PS3 sales will go up a steady amount I was referring to this week, not lost planet's week, sorry there..

The 360 is catching up, at this rate.....

Edit: Wow so no new wii releases this week and only 2 'the best' releases for the PS3. So i guess it's safe to assume things will keep on getting worse.

What are you talking about? The top-selling system just sold 23,000 units in a week! Imagine if you had a product selling 23,000 (that's three zeroes) in a week across the country. You'd be jumping for joy!

How much did SMG on its first day ?

Bebpo

Banned
SMG2 seems really overshipped.
SRW DS numbers are pretty decent.

and yeah I knew those "30k preorders" death smiles II comments had to be bullshit. DS2 is gonna do good for a Cave shmup, but Cave shmups do not do 30k and DS2 will not do 30k. Probably 20-22k. Also the terribly low sales of the standard version is pretty crazy. I can't think of any other game in the history of gaming where a $120 LE version is substantially outselling the $70 standard version.

I am just amazed that a version of Tropico 3 came out in Japan on the 360. The fact that it had a single sale, also blows my mind. So little I know about this place called Earth.

Thought Galaxy 2 would open a bit higher than Galaxy, not just that slightly. Not bad for SRT OG Saga but Medarot seems to be the surprise. Last Medarot on garaph is from 2003 and from a company named Jujube (who?) but this new DS game is from Imagineer (2001 Medarot GBA) and developed by Rocket Company (that one niche company that had huge success with training-like games on DS). 46k is a pretty good debut.

Seeing this, what is everyone expecting to be the biggest seller this year? Not combining 3DS with DS that is. 3DS on its own shouldn't have enough time (units produced?), DS has Pokemon Black/White but very unlikely a new SKU, PSP also has new system rumors but MHP3rd and maybe a PSP-4000 could bump its HW. PS3 and Wii doesn't look like they'll fight that fight, maybe one for being top of each other?

Me, I think PSP will win if PSP2 doesn't happen yet but PSP-4000 does, if not, DS. Although given shitty numbers across the board I wonder if Nintendo can produce 2'5m 3DS and sell it from November and still reign over everyone else.
PS3-Wii I think Wii will win handily, both far from PSP-DS-3DS that is.

PD: Possibly best time to say, but recently started playing Galaxy 1 and its damn so good. Too bad exams and world cup next month, hopefully I'll finish it in July.

Nice to see SMG2 open higher than the original game, though not by much.

Maybe it'll pick up some steam after people see the ads that compare it to NSMB (Like what happened with the original SMG)

DeathSmiles IIX (360/Limited Edition) – 9,000 (58%)
Death Smiles (360/Normal Edition) – 2,800 (34%)

i wonder how you could call "Limited Edition" if it has been shipped much more than the normal one... :lol

I preordered the Japanese version of the game from Play-Asia back in 20th April, and the game just released yesterday in Japan. I was wondering why I still haven't received my shipping notification, so I checked their site and the game is currently back ordered! What the...

This is the first time I have preordered a game from Play-Asia and getting this treatment... does this mean the game is actually selling very well in Japan that they don't have enough to fill preorders?

EDIT: OOps I should have read those first day numbers before I posted :lol But what the heck then.. Play-Asia give me my game now!

Problem is, SMG had that big holiday boost which was a big part of what pushed it up to the near-million mark. With a similar opening at this time of year, I don't see SMG2 coming particularly close to the original.

The best part is that I'm NOT buying Super Mario Galaxy 2 in Japan, so I'm not going to contribute to its sales. :lol :lol :lol

Ended up with the U.S. version!

A littble bit dissappointed by SMG2 numbers ... I think (personally) is a better game then NSMB.
I love the SMG style they got going, it is freaking awesome stuff.

But 3 or 4 player NSMBWii cannot be denied. I have gotten so much better at the main game because of it.:lol

SMG is like the best of its kind, and so is NSMBWii.

So... yay? I won't pick a side because both types are spectacular, for very different reasons.

Lost Planet was 2007-01, not 2006-01.

Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition has finally left the MC Top 50. :( I wonder if it's surpassed 275K yet.

I just checked three places and they say 2006-12 for Japan (2007-01 for the rest of the world).

Chris, I was cross-checking LTDs for hardware and I see you put DSL as 4,026 this week, but I'm seeing 3,921 in other places. Did MC correct the number or something?
