Seriously, I have no idea how on earth I managed to completely not even know that Sloane and MacHale came out last week. What is wrong with me? I'm hoping my last-second Play-Asia order slides in right before I leave for E3.

It took a year and a half for Mass Effect to get a Japanese release? I thought Microsoft's Japanese division was usually pretty prompt with localizing Microsoft-published titles.

the amount of time it spent in the coming sometime section of the famitsu release calendar could indicate there was some kind of trouble or strategy to waiting so long.

purely speculation of course.

Why do you change the title format every single week?
This week is the same format as the last MC thread I did. The significant difference from before that is adding the year. Going back through multiple years of MC threads from time to time, I realized it would be nice to have the year attached to the thread name instead of having to open the thread to confirm what year it was from.

Last week's thread was posted by The_lascar.

Edit:
Hmmm. I have the "-" in the name, because there's a dash in the website name. However, the MC website seems to use a space on the actual text of the page instead of a dash...

this is probably the scariest DS import I've had to get~ You really can't get through this with trial by error. Japanese language ability is a must~

Famitsu Sales: 05/18 - 05/24
01. [NDS] Sloan to Michael: Nazo no Monogatari (Level 5) - 59,000 / NEW
02. [NDS] Pro Yakyuu Team o Tsukurou! 2 (Sega) - 47,000 / NEW

02./00. [NDS] Pro Yakyuu Team o Tsukurou! 2 (SEGA) - 39,000 / NEW

Wtf with the differences yet again :/
Pro Yakyuu Team o Tsukurou! 2 does a little worse than the first one, 60k vs 47k by Famitsu numbers.

19. [PSP] Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes (Capcom) - 4,300 / 161,000
Having fantastic legs, most likely the anime is helping a lot. It has pretty much matched the original Basara on PS2 and the Basara 2 expansion, Heroes, on PS2 too. I wonder if Capcom will listen to this and Basara 3 will at least hit PSP too.

Thanks for the effort in doing this though - at times it feels like the Little Red Hen

Wow @ Xbox 360. Wow.
No surprise really, and it's going to get worse.

Not even 1 PS3 game in the top 30. How much does number 30 sell like 4,000* or less? So not even a single game sold more than 4,000* this week in Japan that is pretty amazing.

Having said that software sales in general are pretty damn dismal.

Edit:*not sure about that could be a little more or less but it doesn't make much difference.

whatever company is losing with this situation, they deserve it and I am glad they lose big money.

the big 3 let the Japanese market rot and die. There is so much the DS can do to keep alive the market, it's a 2004 piece of hardware, ffs.

well deserved.

So I can basically ignore Japanese sales till MH3 hits? Okey-dokey, good to know.
Is that the next major release we can expect?
Wii Sports Resort and Dragon Quest IX should be kind of big deals.

Usually it's more, but that's pretty accurate for these recent down times.

I am unsure why the 360 surprises GAFers in a negative way. It's doing fantastic YOY, and compared to any other year for a Microsoft console.

Did you know that 2009 is within 10,000 hardware units sold of 2006, 2007, and 2008 cumes COMBINED? That's how well it's doing.

31. [PS3] Valkyria Chronicles (BEST) (SEGA)

43. [PS3] Musou Orochi Z (Koei)
49. [PS3] Demon's Souls (SCEI)

Is it really surprising that PS3 doesn't have a single title in the top30? It has had a shitty month and it'll only have something this week we're on, with Musou 5 Empires, PSStore to Blu-ray The Last Guy and late version of HAWX. Er, lets leave it at Musou 5 Empires then.

Also, see PS3 releases in June for hilarity:

4th June
Nothing

11th June
Nothing

18th June
Nothing

25th
Agarest Senki Zero
Bionic Commando
BlazBlue
Extreme Racing: Pure
Rorona no Atelier: Arland no Renkinjutsushi
Wanted: Weapons of Fate

Awesome planning is back :lol

Btw some comments, Kingdom Hearts DS launches on Saturday, so no first day today (and probably no first day overall), and first week will be two days only.
Oh and its released at a premium price, 6000Y, which is funny since it costs more than Musou 5 Empires on PS3/360 this same week, which is only 5000Y (but its still more than what the PS2 Empires versions were).
On the other hand, its also funny that Atelier Rorona limited edition costs over 10000Y, or basically as much as 3 Sloane and McHale (Level 5, DS), which is pretty budget priced (3500Y).
