So would NSMB be the biggest opening for a Wii game? And outside of DQIX this would be the biggest opening(so far) of the year for any game?

cw_sasuke

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

1. So far? Yes it is. In the long term? I think when DQX comes out (assuming it will :lol ) then it would definitely top NSMBWii

No, this reminds of 2007 days.

Haha, I was mostly referring to PS3's terrible software performance. But yeah, when's the last time there were that many Wii titles in the top 30? Geez.

ponders whether or not to post some return of the king pics

That would almost certainly be premature.

No Famitsu hardware leaks yet? Expecting Wii and PSP to do very well.

Calm before the storm perhaps? I was expecting more PS3 activity in general with the anticipation for FFXIII. The next few weeks will be really interesting.

I think we only have Enterbrain figures.

The general expectation is that Final Fantasy will cause a respectable bump, but should do little for the PS3 over the long term. The situation may be exacerbated by the lack of Final Fantasy PS3 bundles.

SM3 did as expected, still a pretty big downturn for the series though that's par for the course this gen.

Pikachu game was did pretty well actually too, considering a Saturday release.

Anticipation for other games doesn't boost sales anywhere, not even Japan.

Sometimes new games coming out will boost sales of earlier games in the series, but even that is pretty rare. Holidays and price cuts and new colors give sales boosts, but even then their effect on catalog titles is hard to prove. It seemingly happens sometimes to long tailed Nintendo titles on otherwise slow software weeks.

Trying to finish the predictions results but...why does the Famitsu leak round Musou to 127k while sinobi rounds it to 126k? Not going to change the whole picture but hey.

edit: well, actually it doesn't change anything at all, no positions move, guess I'll post it with the leak version and change it later if its needed.

Kurosaki I think you have mixed some numbers. My PSP 2 prediction for example.
Checked but can't see it, you have 240k and I have that in the excel file. Maybe the grid here doesn't show properly? (I had to fix the alignment but maybe it just shows properly to me?).

Btw, collective win, we did predict for 8 biggest titles. 360 nearly jinxed it once again though!

The grid aligns for me too. Looks fine as far as I can see.

Holy fuck yes for New Super Mario Bros Wii! :D
Totally deserved and with such great sales perhaps we'll see even more classic style games start to re-apear. :)

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
I underestimated NSMBW and Assassin's Creed II, overestimated Gundam, SW3, and Power Pro Pocket 12.

Stupid PSP2!!!
Stupid me for believing it would have a better first week.

Thanks, Kurosaki Ichigo, and congrats to Takao.

Now to what will rape me this week. Can't wait for first day numbers.

I will not make some gaffers eat crow in front of others and I'll just say I "told you", Mario 2D is legendary.

Now I'm waiting to see if my prediction Wii will outsold x360 by a 3x factor WW in Q4 turns right.

Good God grieve. First it was "retarded", now it's "raped". Okay, I'm sorry, from now on in MC threads I will only use terms which are approved for a G rating under MPAA standards. I apologize if I have hurt your sensitive feelings.

I like being immature: I think the Wii will rape the PS3 this holiday season.

Finally things worked for Nintendo and all they needed to do was be creative: copy something they had already done that worked. Who said the Japanese market was harder to please than the American one?
