Good point, probably should have. From my perspective it comes out on 月曜日, because I don't really get to think of the days of the week in English all to often, but I guess if I was translating to English, I should have just simply stated Monday and left it at that.

My bad.
WTF are you talking about :lol Is English not your native language or something?

Then I recommend using a machine translator which does not suck balls?

People should just stop posting machine translations. If there's something interesting you want translated just say so and let someone else do it. Posting sense-less garbage is just annoying.

Wow the Bayonetta review obviously had some effect on the 360 version numbers.

Yeah, looks like that's the one thing I undershot...but perhaps that will be like 90% of its sales.

where is persona 3 psp

edit: Where are those from? it's 2pm in tokyo and missing some big releases.

Thanks for the numbers!

Now hopefully we'll get a comparison between all our predictions vs the first day figures to see who's totally off so far. I'm pretty confident of most of my predictions look good! :)

the 360 Bayonetta is close to the PS3 version but I think the gap will get bigger along the week.

Honestly thought Tekken 6 will sell more than Bayonetta.

[WII] Sin and Punishment 2 (Nintendo) - 5.6k

WOW

What a shame. Tokita was making a nice comeback after his years of exile following The Bouncer. I guess it's back to the closet office with him.

FFG prediction is already shot to hell.

That's generally what happens when predictions are made with no grounding to reality and research whatsoever! :)

I wasn't quite sure what to research with that one, honestly.

Iwata: We don't need to advertise anything! It's a waste of money!

I bet they looked at the Nintendo Channel videos and the Iwata Asks feature and said "there, best. marketing. ever."

Goddammit now I'm worried NoA will cancel the localisation.

I'm going to say 100k first day Crystal Bearers.

I'm an optimist.

Yeah I don't see that happening at all.

So guys, will Sin and Punishment: Successor to the Sky be the worst-selling Nintendo-published game of the Wii? Because I remember the original game was close to being so for the N64.

How do the sales of Disaster, Another Code R, and Captain Rainbow compare?

Is 85k in one day considered bad?

I totally don't feel like digging up first day numbers for these, but here are comparable first week numbers:

Code:
Dissidia PSP 503,723
FF3 NDS 501,701
Crisis Core PSP 470,152
FF4 NDS 308,794
Revenant Wings NDS 289,325
CC: Ring of Fates	NDS 206,439
War of the Lions	PSP 169,768
Tactics A2 NDS 158,408
CC: Echoes of Time	NDS 101,989

Given the front-loaded nature of the series, 85k first day isn't really a strong number at all.

Thing about Bayonetta is that they shipped the same amount for each platform - this is quite unprecedented for a multiplatform game actually. So the sell through is:
360 version: 45000 / 33%
PS3 version: 93000 / 67%

At this rate, the 360 version might drop in price before the PS3 version.

Also, 4WOL was sold out when I tried to buy it yesterday lunchtime. I think it was ridiculously undershipped.

Do they want the ps3 version to fail or something? first the difference in quality between the two versions, now this!

PSP sales are better than they once were, but that doesn't exactly mean that they're good either. It's the same with the PS3.

Please don't mock the sales of PSP software, pachter jr. They get ridiculed enough without requiring anyone else to do so.

The lowest first week I can recall is Takt of Magic at 4k.

Treasure probably would have been better off not canceling that mythical 360 game they were working on.

It would have sold better at least.

Unless that game was based on Bleach or another popular contemporary anime franchise, I doubt it.

The signs were pointing towards Treasure's 360 game being a 2D shooter. By default it would have gotten 10k in the first day.

You doubt that a Treasure shooter that's the next installment of the Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga series would sell less than 5k on the 360 in Japan on the first day? :lol

I do.

Doubt that it would sell less, that is.
