Goddammit Japan.
if the amount of effort Nintendo put into raising general awareness of their first-party games in Japan is comparable to the amount of effort they put into it in the West... yeah, I don't know what they were expecting.

Dropped out of the top 30 last week after a ten week run. Last total was about 690,000.

Glad to see PS3 Bayonetta on top. The more bad reputation Platinum Games gets, the better.
It's Sega that is getting the bad rep. Platinum did nothing wrong.

Huh? Sega published it, Sega ported it. How can PG be at fault for the PS3 version at all?
We know Sega did the job. Majority of those playing the PS3 version don't. They see the PG logo > they assume PG is responsible.

Those unaware of who actually ported the game are the majority I guess.
like Japanese people are going to look at the X360 version and go "HEY WAIT! this PS3 version is gimped!!" - it's not going to happen.

But why on earth would you hope for a games company to get a worse reputation? So we can get -even less- games?

:/

It's their product? They disassociated themselves entirely from it, that's just bad.

Is this like Japan's XSeed? Making a small income from selling obscure western games to a tiny Japanese fanbase?

I also think it's rather unfortunate the PS3 version of Bayonetta sold that much, too. It tells other publishers that they don't have to work hard on their PS3 versions for them to sell.

Decided to skip out on Bayonetta entirely because the PS3 version lags behind the 360 one, and I hate the 360 pad like rats (not to mention MS customer service).

Most of those publishers probably look at WW sales, and I seriously doubt the PS3 version is gonna perform well in the west given the bad rep.

It's Sega's product. PG built a 360 game, and their publisher decided to capitalise on it and make a PS3 game.

They disrespected his system. Never disrespect someone who is emotionally invested into a faceless corporation's system.

well that's good news!
the sooner we get rid of all these wanky companies who don't show the PS3 the respect it deserves the better.

Lets hope people get their wish and these company get bad reps and then stuff simply stops selling on PS3 and they migrate over to other platforms! - it'll be a long hard wait for the next Naughty Dog game whilst everyone else i banished

You know me. I can go on and on about why I don't personally trust the 360 or Microsoft as a consumer.

That said, the 360 Bayonetta deserved more sales than the PS3 one, and it's too bad that didn't happen, because we've seen it happen occasionally. Personally hoping it's lopsided elsewhere.

I still own a 360, so I'm not totally against the system. But I'm at that point where I won't buy another one at the present price points if mine decides to die again, which makes me hesitant to invest in games for the system that are multiplatform. But that doesn't mean I'll buy crappy PS3 versions either. Bayonetta just happens to be a game in which I know I'd enjoy the Dual Shock 3 more, after playing through the Onimusha and DMC games on the PS2. So, it's a skip. I would have put up with the 360 pad if I had nothing else to play this holiday season, but that's not the case, so too bad. Maybe next year when it's hit the budget lineup.

no one trusts MS fully, not even x360 fans like me.

but we at least know where to pick up X360->PS2/3 controller converters (i.e. every games shop in TK at the moment!) ;)

you might have missed it - but yeah, go check out Bic or Sofmap or Tsutaya , they are all carrying the same one.

now this advice goes to a whole slew of people who bring this similar point up over and over. if you aren't going to play your X360 and you have a PS3 - SELL the X360!

This is a prime case where the X360 version is better in a substantial way - if you are going to say "bu bu it might break if i use it, so i won't buy the game for it" then you basically just have a soda streem looking piece of junk taking up space in your house.

GET RID OF IT!

Me? Get rid of my LE RE5 console? Surely you jest. ;)

The 360 will still get exclusives in the future, and there's also Natal. It's a system worth owning, but you have to be cautious. Anywho, not sure why people are taking too much issue with this perception, especially in a sales thread.

While S&P 2 has bombed at least I can look forward to getting a really cheap JPN copy sometime before the US release.

That kind of goes against whatever I'm supposed to be standing for(especially since it's a game that runs at 60 fps most of the time) but Q1 2010 sounds more like Q4 2010(I'll probably buy the US version anyway cause I don't want to give NoA any ideas).

Looking forward to what Treasure is going to do next at least. Will they resume work on mysterious 360 title? Snag another anime license and churn out a couple fighters? Sky's the limit I do believe.

PLUS adds stuff like more playable characters and etc etc. The WoTS3 that just hit the US is vanilla.

Kind of annoyed by that.
Supposedly coming via DLC in US. We'll see. The main game feels like it has enough content as is. If they're not adding more endings/story scenes, it doesn't matter.

The most important thing is that Plus adds a female main character. More characters in general would be a good thing as well. The game feels barren compared to WoTS1 in that regard. Hell I wouldn't even care if they didn't add to the story. Just throw in a bunch of wandering badass dudes to have kickass fights with. Though they may need a bunch of new swords cause I've just about matched every weapon skill in the game. =/

But yeah female main character. I'm getting kind of extremely bored with the kimono/sandal-fest that is the female npc cast. I need a fine lady in cool(or even stupid) armor wielding swords that I named after 2D shooters because I'm a nutter.

You know, some sites were acting like the PSP Go was doomed because of selling 28k units in one day in Japan..
But seeing the (leaked) chart, and seeing the the DSi sold 8k more..with 6 additional days...is not as bad as some we making it..
