Yes, I mean skyward sword, I'm not sure but there's little to no hype for this Zelda game and I don't think Nintendo wants it to bomb after 4+ years in development.

Didnt Mario Galaxy 2 sell well? I dont see why Skyward Sword wouldnt, and haven't they already designed the game around motion controls? What you're saying doesnt make no sense!

You are taking the crown from farnham with this prediction.
It's quite a stretch but the focus for the Zelda team seems shipping OOT 3DS a launch and Wii's 2011 software drought will put the GameCube to shame... either a Wii2 + Wii release or a 3DS release for holiday 2011. I can't see Nintendo release two Zelda games during the first half of the year. Not to mention that I've played Zelda SS and it was little more than a tech-demo with 'meh' controls compared to Wii Sports Resort.

You've got to be kidding - the damn game has been built around the capabilities of the Remote w. M+ and it's obviously far, far into development. You seriously expect it to shift to 3DS?

Predicting that SS would move to the Wii's successor would be reasonable, especially given precedent with Twilight Princess; predicting that it will jump to 3DS is incredible.

Let's see. So far in this thread

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword: Wii -> 3DS
Pikmin 3: Wii -> 3DS
Dragon Quest X: Wii -> 3DS

What's left?
Rhythm Heaven: Wii -> 3DS

Normal shooter as non-high profile ones like modern Warfare, Halo or Resistance, etc....

How about Lost Planet 2? Also a multiplatform Japanese third person shooter. Had about as much awareness in Japan as Vanquish. From a Japanese publisher. Featuring a known producer/director. LP2 sold 2x what Vanquish did.

NSMBwii will retroactively be cancelled and moved to 3DS.

I think there's something in the thread which is making people go crazy. We should probably try to purify the air before the sickness gets worse.

How do you even know there is a Wii 2? Also there is some stuff for next year: Mario Sports game, last story, and vitality sensor in addition to zelda.

If Pikmin was to go anywhere, I would say it would be to the Wii's successor. Miyamoto has already mentioned Pikmin as a game that would benefit from HD, so I could certainly see it dropping somewhere in the launch window for Wii2/SuperWii/whatever. Nature programming benefits hugely from HD; I can only imagine the natural landscapes of Pikmin would benefit similarly.

It is downright tiring how the Wii was in the same position last year, getting the same comments from the same users who just don't seem to learn/remember anything.

OK, fine, Vanquish is a bomb.
trying to give a game the benifit of the doubt is hard, it seems

Mario Sports Mix - early 2011, fairly minor release.

Last Story - very early 2011.

Vitality Sensor - possibly cancelled, possibly not. No indication of it coming anytime soon and could possibly be moved to a Wii successor.

There really is very little announced for Wii, and much of what is coming is outsourced or from subsidiaries. I think internal resources are aimed squarely at 3DS and Wii2 by now.

I wouldn't call Mario Sports Mix minor, but I'm looking at what could drive Wii sales in 2011 and I can't come up with anything other than Dragon Quest X. Nintendo already released most of their popular franchises.

Wii's 2009 October weeks were 30,741, 29,965, 25,917, 28,888. That's more than twice the week-to-week sales it does now.

Not the same position.

The only thing that's reasonably close so far is the YTDs, but that'll fall behind a bit more in the coming weeks, too, rest assured.

Don't be so sure, you don't know how many Mario 25th Anniversary Wiis Nintendo will ship for the holiday season.

Good point. I don't see that exceeding the NSMB Wii bump of last November and onward though. When this year is in the sack, Wii should finish well below 2009 levels, and belowerer than now.

Mikami should have made a P.N.03 sequel for Wii instead.

Vanquish is the closest thing to a P.N. 03 sequel we will ever get and that bombed too, I guess Mikami should just give up on this idea of shooting with style in a futuristic atmosphere.

People didn't care back then and don't care now.

I /think/ they said they were going to print it until the end of the holidays so new shipments should eventually come in. And since it's a collector's item I'd say the risk from the used market is lower than usual.
Super Mario Collection will be available through January 10, 2011.

''Nintendo will produce and ship the product through that date as demand requires.''

With 25th Mario advertising campaign in full force and the low price it should show a Super Mario Galaxy performance but at a stronger form assuming there is the supply.

Kirby should be the light version of Super Mario Galaxy.

But Vanquish is the best and most awesome thing that happened to the third person shooter genre since Resident Evil 4 came out. :(

Same opinion. I think that Skyward Sword would be a perfect launch title for Wii2.

Sony announced the PSP Go pricedrop 25th October, and i think that the pricedrop is in effect from this date. It is real, not a rumour :) The latest Media Create tracking goes to 24th October, so we wont see any changes in the PSP Go hardware sales before in the next Media Create numbers.

my god, that's like 1 game every 4 months and one of those isn't a game.

Already happened, Go and 3000 are the same price right now.

Yup, NSMB gave an insane bump that lasted right through to January, there's no way we're going to see that kind of performance again this year.

True hehe. I dont expect huge PSP Go numbers next week, but the price did afterall drop 10,000 Yen which is quite a pricedrop (at least from RRP (recommended retail price), i have no idea if stores in Japan sells the PSP Go for less than RRP though). I think that the PSP Go will sell something like 4000-5000 units in the next Media Create numbers. That wont change much in the big picture indeed, but at least it is a small change for maybe a week or two :)

About tLoZ Skyward Sword, it can go to 3DS as long as EAD3 (Daiki Iwamoto) primarly portable device team is up and running and EAD3 (Aonuma) team can do tLoZ OOT 3DS on parallel. My point is that double releases distract public attention, they are not good.

To quantify how big of a bomb Vanquish is. I should point out that Bayonetta on Xbox360, sold more in the first week in Japan, than Vanquish did combined. :lol

Poor PG, they are not long for this world. :( They should pull a Mikami and get bought out by a big publisher.

Poor PG, they are not long for this world. :( They should pull a Mikami and get bought out by a big publisher.

They can all just go work for Mikami instead. Several of them have already bailed.

While Vanquish certainly underperformed, I don't worry about PG. Sega has already said they're up for what amounts to round 2 of the original Platinum deal. Since they're not owned by anyone they can't simply be closed down, so as long as they continue to get publisher support, I'd say they're safe.

It doesn't have a date but right now this looks the possible scenario.

But Japan's doing so well for Wii that it doesn't need any software drivers.

Seriously, if Wii2 takes two years (still looking for a Fall 2011 Japanese debut), it will be amazing to see how Nintendo somehow takes a market-leading console and strings it out to GameCube levels with no software on a wing and a prayer. :lol

I don't think Donkey Kong has many chances this December with Kirby and Mario titles. Nintendo better releases it early next year when the Mario 25th anniversary campaign ends.

I think I read somewhere 8 old and new Mario titles will get an advertising push.
