Media Create Sales: October 25-31

That is glossy. I didn't know those cards were being sold via retail. I thought the only way to get them was to win it.

There were three sets released earlier this year. The one you can win is a minor variation of the Retro/8-bit deck.

Really disappointed with Solatorobo sales. I was hoping it would outsell Naruto :(

CC2 is really going to get stuck doing licensed games for life unless they can make a breakthrough hit like L5 did with Layton.

Random Famitsu LTD from the latest issue in a feature that focuses on budget re-releases. Sales are of their original releases. Didn't list older games that have fixed LTDs or games no one cares about.
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - 136.344

Although that is on GDM, it isn't on Chris' database (or at least on the one that version he uploaded for us).

It is impossible to know for sure if Move also contributed to this week's PS3 bump. But i agree that it is more likely because of the Winning Eleven bundle indeed :)

EDIT: I fixed a typo.

The move's affect on the PS3 last week was zero. And the only game in the top 20, I believe, clocked in right at 20, with 7,130 sold. Which was #8 last week.

20. / 08. [PS3] Beat Sketch! (SCE) - 7.130 / 29.295 (-68%)

Well behind weekly won't last long.

Is that true, though? B/W launched on basically the same week in the year as D/P, so wouldn't it be fair to assume that upticks B/W will see associated with Christmas would also impact D/P around the same week in their sales curves?

I might be missing a factor here.

He's probably talking about the Nov 20th release of the special Pokemon Black and Pokemon White DSi bundle systems. There should be a decent marketing push as well which should create a larger impact than just a normal Christmas bump.

11/11/10 [PSP] Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fate (Square Enix) - ? / ?

Highly doubt it'll do as well as the Nintendo entries, but it can still do ok though.

10/07/08 [PSP] God of War: Chains of Olympus (Capcom) - 16.850 / 39.519
11/11/10 [PSP] God of War: Ghost of Sparta (SCE) - ? / ?

GOW popularity seems to have gone up a little

GOW 3 LTD is around 90K and the Collection + Trilogy is around 40k, GOW1 did 7k (60k with re releases) and GOW 2 did around 40k, so I'm gonna guess GOS will sell a little more than COO, but not by much, maybe 60k?

Also, is there any reason why God Eater Burst released on PSN when the original God Eater didn't?

The superior Mario is selling less. I can't believe a glorified rom is selling so well though, it must have boosted NSMB sales.

It's a lot more than a glorified rom. It's seen as a collectible, and there's really nothing wrong with that.

PS3 Vanquish is 40% off at amazon. That was faster than Re:coded.
Dunno if late to both but currently those are just marketplace prices, amazon has them at their normal ~20% off. I think I did see Re:coded discounted (more than usual) by amazon itself last weekend though...and not that Vanquish won't hit bargain bins soon at its pace, Famitsu debut has it at <50% sell-through (both PS3 and 360).

EDIT: Neowing retailer lists Irem's Disaster Report 4 for February 24 of '3DS, PSP2i, Haruhi, Disgaea and such' fame. Come on

I was actually poking fun at myself with that comment. :p

I predicted that NSMBW would cannibalize SMG2's sales within a few weeks of launch. It turns out that it took 6 months before they finally switched places on the chart. :lol

It's not so impossible to know. Move didn't move PS3 units last week and the yearly Winning Eleven bundle always gives a bump.
SlipperySlope said:
The move's affect on the PS3 last week was zero. And the only game in the top 20, I believe, clocked in right at 20, with 7,130 sold. Which was #8 last week.

20. / 08. [PS3] Beat Sketch! (SCE) - 7.130 / 29.295 (-68%)
I fully agree that Move most likely didnt affect the PS3 hardware sales much last week. I just wanted to defend a bit if someone said that Move might have had some impact on last week's PS3 hardware sales :) If the PS3 hardware sales went up like 7k from last week, it isnt possible to know for sure if all of this boost was due to Winning Eleven 2011 or if some smaller part of this boost was due to Move. But i do agree that Winning Eleven 2011 was most likely the biggest factor for the PS3 hardware sales increase indeed :)

How can you say that? There were lines at TGS.

I still try to fing a single reason (outside moneyhating from Microsoft) Japanese developers announced so many Kinect exclusive games when it was known from before that most of them would bomb.

There's no other reason besides moneyhatting, same reason as to why the 360 got some major RPGs exclusively before. Didn't Namco pretty much say they got moneyhatted to put Vesperia there?
