Not like Wii will get many titles but if the few it gets do like this, lawl. Not expecting any better from next week SD Gundam either, but will be interesting to see Rune Factory Oceans.

Is it two weeks or three weeks before the massive 3DS media create thread?

Also what the heck on MHP3. Huge jump in sales with almost another 100K sold! Is this the Monster Hunter bundle sales or the PSP 3000 back in stock?

I think the only reason that the Wii got SD Gundam G Generation World was that it was cheap to port it over from the PSP and used similar assets as G Generation Wars (PS2/Wii title).

There were a bunch of new PSP models released recently that appears to have finally fixed the shortages... for now. This caused the pent up demand for new players to jump into MHP3.

Bundles effect greater than usual because of PSP shortages.

Yeah, unlike here with Musou where it was exclusive tanking making it multiplatform. Thing is, going forward, I wonder if they'll bother anymore. Talking about next Basara, next Gundam, next Sengoku Musou...having lost some like Pawapuro already.

No..just 10 days until they are released (so they're next week titles) and exactly 2 weeks until we get numbers. We'll also predict for them this weekend.

The Wii isn't getting SRWZ2, which is a PSP title using many PS2 assets.

107 psp go's

wow

is that the record low for the device? I cant imagine a situation in which you could sell barely more than 100 units in a week.

Were the first week shipment of 3DS 400K to Japan? PSP would probably retain the YTD lead that week, in that case.

Edit:
Or was that 1Q shipments or am I just completely misremembering things here? :lol

Semi-off topic, but who was that guy again who, years ago in these threads, liked to say things like "I'm bullish on Wii sales", "The PS3 has. Not. Once. Outsold. The Wii." and "360 won't reach a million before its successor is announced."? He funny.

Not singling the guy out for crow-eating, btw. Few predicted the resurgence of the PSP and PS3, in particular. I didn't. Just that the effort he put into sounding like a proper market analist seldom failed to bring a smile to my face.

I dont know, but 400k for 1Q sounds very low. That might be sold out in the first week and then there is nothing left for the rest of the quarter.

EDIT: Already answered (i forgot to refresh the page before i replied) :)

We got some fairly intriguing info that tells us how poor(lack of online sales) these trackers are for niche games:

From the twitter account of President of the company that makes Students of The round table for x360:

1. Game sold more then 8,000 first day, Yet Famitsu has it at around 4,300 for first day
(although this is possible the president doesn't fully realize how tracking works, since he says famitsu can't be correct because his company sent out over 8000 copies the first day.)

2. Sold over 10k first week.

3. Day one shipments were enough for it to be profitable

"No million for us meow?"

I don't think Nintendo can print enough copies or produce enough 3DS's to cover the demand for cats.

At February 28 we will know what 3DS hardware was sold at weekend and software sales for some titles (or even all of them).

Samurai Warriors 3 came out for the Wii. They ported it to the PS3 with additional content.

No it didn't. As of right now it's Wii exclusive in the US and Europe.

SW3Z is basically SW3 + SW3 XL on a single disc. The Wii got SW3 XL separate.

As always, thank you Chris.

Very good LTD when compared to first week numbers. We will see if PS3 version does the same !!!

Probably not, IIRC SW3 Wii rode a solid holiday sales tide. SW3Z won't have that, plus KoeiTecmo are hitting the PS3 Musou audience hard at the moment. They had Gundam 3 at the end of last year, SW3Z now and DW7 next month. Apparantly spreading out your releases to maximise sales never occurred to them.

The PS3 version should pretty easily match or surpass the Wii LTD anyway though. Musou games in general seem to have more legs than other core games, regardless of platform.

Normally I'd agree but I think DW7 releasing so soon is going to cut the legs on SW3Z short, especially with DW7 looking like the biggest effort they've put into the series in a long time. Still it's already put in a more than respectable performance that'll only get better, just they would probably have increased their sales overall had they managed their portfolio a bit better.

I'm just hoping that their western arm is thinking the same thing and that's why they haven't announced a localisation (with DW7 releasing late March in the US/Europe), not because they aren't bringing it over at all. I still don't understand the rumours that SCEA didn't allow WOZ, especially as they were okay with that content in WO2 PSP and they've obviously okayed NamcoBandai and Tales of Graces F.

I just realized that it only needs to sell another 50k or so to match the Wii LTD. So I don't even think it is debatable at this point that it will well surpass the Wii LTD for both SM3 and SM3XL combined. It should match the Wii LTD by next week already, so DW7 isn't even a factor in this. The only question is how much more it can sell beyond the Wii LTD. I would say at least 300+k would be a pretty unambitious number at this point. Obviously it's not going to match the Wii's legs in terms of doing over double the first week sales, but it also sold a lot more in the first week, so that becomes less important.

I'm surprised that the PSP has sold so many as I still can't find a Japanese PSP in any of the stores around me, most of the store have been importing European and US PSP's to sell to the Japanese public. You'll also have a hard time trying to find a 2nd hand PSP and as for the PSPgo I'm surprised that it's sold that many. All the store's I know of have stopped selling the device and have taken down everything to do with the PSPgo, even 2nd hand PSPgo are a rarity these days.

The 2 tone PSP which is bundled with Monster hunter is impossible to find, I've only found empty boxes on the shelves saying "Sold out."

So the PSP shortage's are FAR from over.

I wonder if the PSP will have a LTD of > 20 million when all is said and done. It'll probably be pretty close even if it doesn't. The PSP might have been a total failure by this point outside of Japan, but coming so close to the PS2 LTD in Japan is a pretty solid achievement for this territory. Especially when the DS did so much better, and is the main competitor. The PSP might be the best second place system in Japan ever.
