I was expecting Yoshi to have modest sales, but I thought it would be closer to 100k. I hope the game "have good legs" and keep selling for a while. Smash Bros will cross 3 million next week on Media Create. Also good number for Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, it is nice see games like that selling well.

And I have the impression that Jump Force and One Piece: World Seeker are under performing.

On the hardware side, Switch is doing very well, even without having big releases on the platform. Which is kind of surprising for me. Because they changed their hardware forecast and justified that a weak first quarter was the reason for not reaching their initial forecast, and this year we are seen the same thing, one 2D Mario on January and a Yoshi game on late March. Delaying Fire Emblem : Tree houses opened a hole on their schedule and this is very weird to me, because Switch schedule for this year is very similar with last year, mainly if Animal Crossing is schedule to be release this year; and for the holiday season instead of Pokemon Let's Go and Smash, will be Pokemon and Animal Crossing, which should move a lot of hardware, mainly if the rumored new Switch modes are really a thing, but this is just my two cents, and who knows what Nintendo is doing, that VR mode for Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey was quite surprising.


And it is a pity that Media Create will no longer share this kind of information. The only source for this will Famitsu and Dengeli, and hopefully someone will share the white papers from Media Create with the full year report once per year.

Yeh not sure what to think of Yoshi's Crafted World, but it did better than Woolly World's opening (like 30K for Woolly on WiiU, ~50K on 3DS for its expansion).

Well sadly Media Create won't release public numbers weekly after this week like you mentioned to see Smash Bros obviously cross 3M in it. It already has on other trackers, so oh well.

Aren't you forgetting Mario Maker 2 in June though? In theory, Mario Maker 2, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and Luigi's Mansion 3 are all releasing this year. If so, it should be fairly different than last year. There are also titles like Astral Chain, Yokai Watch 4 for JP, and perhaps DQ11S which should help.

I wonder if Labo VR will see a bump in sales for BOTW and Odyssey. Also the other way around, people with the games buying Labo VR to try the new modes.

I did no forget about Mario Makers 2 or Yo-kai Watch 4. I was just referring to a somehow "weak" Q1 and the resemblance of last year, and the massive sales of the holiday season with two titles.

From June on, things looks better, all games you mentioned are releasing from June on. Astral Chain, at least for me is very hard to predict, the same goes for Dragon Quest XI.

Yo-kai watch 4 will be interesting to see, I still think that they should have release it on "Golden Week" it could help move a lot of hardware, but this could be the best third party game in terms of sales on the Switch, surpassing Minecraft.

For Fire Emblem, I personally have mixed feelings about the game, the change on "environment" was not something I liked, but let's see, I hope the game is great and successful. But I am not sure if it will, sell better than Awakening.

Maybe Luigi's Mansion 3 maybe is an October release, in case they don't delay the game to next year.



Mario Maker 2, will be huge, if the original game for Wii U sold like 4 millions worldwide, I am not sure if it reached 1 million on Japan, last time I checked was very close to 1 million, and the game was also very successful on 3DS. So expecting 10 millions worldwide is not that absurd.
