45k switch sold, 33k software in top 20 (likely up to about 35/36 with top 50?), that's what I'm referring to
Monster Hunter XX massively under-performed, Dead Rising 4 massively under-performed, Resident Evil 7 did awful in Japan (not sure about other territories), Monster Hunter Stories under-performed, Umbrella Corpse... lol, and AA6 is inconsequential.

Adding up games like PPT and DQH should increase the software sales of other 4,000 - 5,000 copies. Then, it's possible SnipperClips sold other 2,000 download codes more or less as well...retail software sales shouldn't be that far from hardware sales, after all

And MHXX will probably crack 2 million on 3DS including digital sales. But retail won't get past 1.8 million.
You're thinking of Splatoon Portable 3rd G. That'll make Pokemon Red/Blue look like a Vita game in comparison.

To be fair, there's only so many Switches (Switch's?) available. They would have been limited to the maximum amount, especially if they were doing it for the investor meeting.
I'm still waiting until the Switch has sold the same amount of consoles as the Wii U did. Seeing whether this is just the hardcore who bought the Wii W in the first few weeks buying their Switch in the first few weeks, but the stock supply issues has dragged the numbers out giving the Switch impressive looking legs when compared to Wii U.
Re: Switch. Realistically, looking at known releases, I can't see momentum slowing much at all until late August/September at the earliest. if Nintendo can have some decent software for Fall they should be in a very good position come holiday.
There are 35.000 SW units sold in the top20 and Switch sold 45.000... so counting digital and all the physical titles not appearing in the top20 I'm pretty sure the ratio SW-HW should be 1-1 at least.
They don't have any potential >200.000 seller until the end of July?
Fantastic numbers for Nier and legs for GTAV/Minecraft. Also always surprised to see DQM Joker 3 on almost all the top20 for Comg, Tsutsaya and Rakuten and then Sukiyaki always ends on top of it when the final numbers are released.

Well, PS4 is still hovering around 20k without significant recent games in the last few weeks, still up YoY and so on. Probably your question IS the issue: there are few significant games actually schedule until DQXI in July.
About MHXX it must be noted that MC is the tracker with lower LTD sales so far, with both Famitsu and Dengeki probably crossing the 1.5 million mark later today.
2 millions will not be achieved, imho, without the "Best price" release, but by a way smaller margin than originally expected looking at the first week MC numbers (not Famitsu nor Dengeki ones)

It's not too surprising. The focus on First Person was going to be an issue. I'd argue that the Japanese audience isn't as into the horror (especially in first person) as the western audience is.
Even when RE6 was coming out, I don't recall as much blowback from that audience as there was in the west.
Hence why I asked if some people getting the console are buying digital....thanks for answering my question
25m in Japan it might make, 125m WW it pretty surely won't break.
'tis a little early to talk about the Switch endgame, but for speculative fun, I might see it breaking GBA WW numbers in the end. More than 3DS (who knows where that's gonna end up end of 2018 though, surely north of 70m), more than all their home consoles, Wii aside, but less than DS.

You won't find the answer to that regardless as Mario Kart 8 drops which is game changer in itself. Going be many weeks until you find out the answer to that question.
It seems assured that the Switch will overtake 3DS big time before the price cut happened, since Switch is currently only 217k behind, will likely outsell 3DS launch aligned by 10k-15k each regular week, and will have massive weeks with Mario Kart and Splatoon 2. What happens beyond that is very interesting. I can't imagine Switch going back to 45k right after Splatoon hits, and instead will get much larger shipments and sales, so I think Switch has a chance of selling on par with or close to the 3DS' first calendar year.
Yeah, I think the period of slowing sales should have been a few weeks ago, a month after BOTW with "nothing else to play." I think now we can safely say that Switch will not do dramatic drops like its predecessors.

Knowing how Capcom works, Ultra Street Fighter 2 will somehow ship 1 million WW, and they'll take it as a sign to make the Way Of The Hado mode into a full game that completely craters. And they'll never do another Switch game.

Looks to be right. The only potential 100k seller on this would have to be Tekken 7. July has Gundam Versus/FFXIIHD which should definitely do 100k+ until DQ arrives.
So yeah either MK8D launch or the week after it we will see the Switch pull ahead of the 3DS. 3DS doesn't have a bump until week 25 on the market(Week 32 - Aug 08 - Aug 14 2011) when it sold 190K after the price drop. Switch should be well ahead by that point because MK8D, Minecraft, Arms and most importantly Splatoon 2 are all set to release before this date. If Switch is able to outperform 3DS after the price drop that would be truly noteworthy.

125+ million Switches is a pipe dream, but I'd like to see it happen. If only to see if Nintendo will fuck up the successor like Wii > Wii U or DS > 3DS (relatively speaking).
