Well, we know what the Pokemon Company switched to after making X/Y.

It just goes to show you that Z is for the Wii U after all! =P

Jeeze at that SAO drop. Did Bandai Namco not ship more copies?

It'll probably pick up slightly again when the anime launches (July, iirc?)

lol @ mario golf sellthrough

How does this Golden Week compare to the last few years? Probably not very favourably.

vinnygambini

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
58k for Mario Golf.

Seems shipments were quite large. Should have a decent hold the following week.

Western Musou?

I don't see any/many companies to even know what Musou is to want to collaborate so it's probably something for a platform holder again, tecmo koei is pretty close with Sony and they do have franchise developed in west that can work....

God of Warriors!
Heavenly Sword Warriors.

I'd bet on second one if I had to.

Playstation All-Stars Musou.

Thanks

Good week for 3DS, better week for Wii U than previously. Sub-5k held off for now?

PS4 on its decline to sub-10k soon, PSV stable at 25k???

Huh? What caused the Wii U increase? Golden Week shouldn't be reflected until next week right?

Thanks. PS4 and Wii U finding slightly higher baselines right now than most were expecting seemingly. (There was lots of talk of sub 10k and sub 5k respectively.) So that's... something. It'll be interesting what kind of baseline Wii U finds after the Kart initial surge dies down. And with almost nothing coming out, will PS4 be able to hang around that 10k area.

Those hardware bumps are really small :/

Those were the hardware bumps last GW:

3DS # | 71.384 | 57.199
| PSV | 17.855 | 17.070
| PS3 | 17.490 | 15.353
| WIU | 10.573 | 8.058
| PSP # | 8.834 | 8.265
| WII | 1.670 | 1.527
| 360 | 388 | 412

Vita seems inmune to Golden Week effects XD.

I thought next week's numbers will reflect golden week? Can we get confirmation which week it is?

It'd never happen, but I'd love to see a DC or Marvel musou game. They have wide character selection and super heroes would easily fit the one vs many style.

Somebody posted Famitsu Week 18 numbers.

I think Golden Week holidays go from 29 April to May 5. So there is only one day which they aren't covering with those numbers :)

May 6 is a holiday too because Greenery Day fell on Sunday (May 4).

Okay, last one:

Ni-Oh X Daikatana

So ruby sapphire remake.
Pikachu 3ds game
Pokken game

Pokemon seems to have a lot coming out. And a stadium game has to exist sometime. I mean, it's way too obvious not to.

R/S remake was kind of expected. With the X/Y being in 3D already, I think a Stadium type game loses some of its appeal. Pikachu detective game and Pokken might be interesting.

Hmm so maybe some GW effects next week but majority of it should've been seen this week

Might explain the 3DS and Wii U rise I suppose. Wonder if it held off a Vita decrease? PS4 decreased regardless

Theatrhythm series, second week comparison:

[3DS] Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - 10.786 / 77.993 (sold out) [LTD: 163.098]
[3DS] Theatrhythm Curtain Call - 24.796 / 100.663

I don't think they are having stock problems. The original dropped real hard too.

14./01. [PSP] Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment # <RPG> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.03.14} (¥6.280) - 18.002 / 156.182 (-87%)

Now we watch how it unfolds.

Now that Nintendo has announced Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, 3DS will have four big releases for the second half of the year:

Yo-kai Watch 2 (July 10)
Super Smash Bros. 3DS (Summer 2014)
Monster Hunter 4G (Autumn 2014)
Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire (November 2014)

But people were saying 3DS had no games to be released on 2014 and Vita would be Japan's new 3DS. Whom should I believe?

Yup. Those 4 are pretty big deal. And since it's pretty much guaranteed Nintendo will launch the 2DS/new 3DS model this year, 3DS should have a wonderful Christmas.

By the way, I wonder when Spike-Chunsoft is planning to release a new console/handheld Attack on Titan game.

It's probably fair to say that all four of those will be considered system sellers. Yet, Yokai Watch released last year, Monster Hunter 4 released last year, and two Pokemon titles released last year. Which cats are compelled to buy hardware based on these titles, yet didn't buy the machine last year?

I guess you see the same thing in the west with CoD and FIFA. I just never think of them as system sellers.

Special edition Bundles.

The only true system seller is Smash of course.

This is true, those franchises are kind of still fresh on 3DS.

Aye, I know. I get it, but I don't get it, if you get it. I know it happens, I just can't fathom significant numbers of people going out and buying a device they already own because it now has a sticker on it. Still, that's the market they're catering to and it obviously works.

Definitely expecting an announcemet this year, but August 2015 release, tbh. No matter the platform. Maybe Late february release at the very earliest.

About the "not system seller games".... no. Granted, they already have one or two games on the console, and pretty "fresh", but they're still amongst the biggest IPs in Japan right now, they WILL have a significant impact on sales (though we should not be expecting insane numbers like those we got last year). It's not like the 3DS has reached total saturation like the PS3...
