Oh interesting. So you get to choose after trying to use the code? I kind of wonder whether we'll ever get stats on what games folks are buying w/ the codes.
@nintendotweet tweeted a pic of the code. Youkai Watch was number 2 on the eShop charts last time I checked with Animal Crossing a few places below.

PS4 and especially PSV seem to have a far higher percentage of digital sales

15. [PSV] Soul Sacrifice Δ <ACT> (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2014.03.06} (¥4.980) - 78.006 (12.437) / 90.443

means digital represents 16% of sales which is like 7 times higher than several of the high selling 3DS titles

That's not that good of a comparison as 3DS's highest sellers are million sellers.

I wonder if 3DS can surpass PSP LTD. Probably. As long as Nintendo doesn't throw a successor out there in a year. Which they very well might.

I suppose but even ignoring the relative differences one PSV title managed to sell more digitally than the top 3 3DS titles did combined [that were available digitally, I assume harvest moon was not?] And the total sales of the 3 3DS games come to 529k versus 78k for the PSV title

Granted that's the highest digital sales rate but still

Man, those are some poor numbers for Child of Light. Guess if it's not made in glorious Nippon the Japanese won't buy it, even if it's in their favorite genre.

Many of the sales could have been digital, and all Wii U sales were digital. Even so, for a low-ish budget type game I don't think it did TOO badly.

Vita's digital sales tend to be higher than other platforms, even in Japan.

Considering how many fairly big 1st party titles the 3DS is getting this year in Japan, I somewhat doubt they'd release a successor next year. Knowing Nintendo, they have to neglect the 3DS for a year before they release their new handheld. I think they might release one in 2016, because QoL is next year.

...you realize those numbers are for a slip of paper that allows you to download the game from PSN, right? And that they sold just under 80% of the 10,000 download slips that they printed up, right?

Ah, I thought it was a physical copy. But regardless, all the evidence we have suggests that the digital market in Japan is still negligible compared to the retail market.

01./03. [3DS] Yo-kai Watch <RPG> (Level 5) {2013.07.11} (¥4.800) - 70.021 / 890.525 <80-100%> (+12%)

A few weeks back this game had slowed a bit. I was thinking it would limp to 800k, now its gonna blast through 900k and clearly hit a million. Not bad for a new IP.

Horrible numbers all around besides 3DS minor bump. Any expectation of Yo-kai Watch in the West from Level-5? 100k top?

Instead of porting it to PC they port it to iOS.

Capcom is the most disappointing company I can remember.

a. In the Digital Contents business, the featured title "Monster Hunter 4" (for Nintendo 3DS) was supported by overwhelming popularity, as mentioned above, and created a huge buzz even comparable to a sort of social phenomenon. Moreover, sales of "Dead Rising 3" (for Xbox One) that has been geared toward the European and U.S. markets, and "Resident Evil Revelations" (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC) exceeded a million titles each and so three titles have become million-sellers.

b. In addition, "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" (for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) showed firm sales while projected sales were basically achieved for "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies" (for Nintendo 3DS).

Furthermore, full-game digital titles, which respond to changes in forms of distribution, contributed to the expansion of sales by growing significantly both at home and overseas in line with the progress in diversification of business models. This included the over-performance of "DuckTales: Remastered" for overseas in addition to the aforementioned "Monster Hunter 4" showing strong sales.

c. Sales of "Lost Planet 3" (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC), were below expectations due in part to intensifying competition in the European and U.S. markets.

d. Meanwhile, the online game "Monster Hunter Frontier G" (for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U) performed lower than anticipated, but the browser game "Onimusha Soul" which was distributed in Taiwan with the aim of expanding Capcom's business fields, garnered a great deal of attention and ranked first in popularity. This thereby marked the beginnings of gaining a foothold in the market for the local corporation, which
was established two years ago.

e. However, mobile contents underperformed as a whole due in part to a lack of major titles and the fiercely competitive environment even though "Monster Hunter Hunting Quest" performed steadily.

f. As a result, net sales were 65,824 million yen (up 3.4% from the previous fiscal year), and operating income was 4,489 million yen (down 36.4% from the previous fiscal year).

Konami's Vita percentage really puzzles me, the last game they released was Silent Hill Book of Memories?
