Konami's Vita percentage really puzzles me, the last game they released was Silent Hill Book of Memories?
Long tail digital sales. I only picked up BoM a week or two back.

(I have no idea really. Don't they release some baseball games in Japan?).

Instead of porting it to PC they port it to iOS.

Capcom is the most disappointing company I can remember.

Man, buy Freedom Unite, RIP the UMD, download the PSP emulator, tweak the settings. Enjoy Monster Hunter at higher resolutions and with some sweet AA.

Konami's Vita percentage really puzzles me, the last game they released was Silent Hill Book of Memories?

That I can remember they have:

- Silent Hill: Book of Memories
- Metal Gear Solid HD
- Some sport IP (non PES)

I remember the laughs here when they expected 700k

That's 100k above their expectations IIRC.

Has it launched somewhere in Asia?

That handheld software share confuses me.

Also, Rising PC bomba?

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4) - 865.000
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (XBO) - 324.000

Pro Evolution Soccer series had a 37% drop in sales. Anyway, I still don't know how they manage to ship 3 million units outside Japan since their titles never chart (only the first few weeks), that's some impressive channeling stuffing.

So, still nothing from Media Create huh? Guess the numbers will be posted in roughly 2h on 4Gamer.net.

Long tail digital sales. I only picked up BoM a week or two back.

(I have no idea really. Don't they release some baseball games in Japan?).

yes, they launched Pro Baseball Spirits and a F2P Pawapuro, the latter has been removed from PSN due to the presence of an exploit which permitted to install PSP CFW on latest bios IIRC

(recently a F2P Pawapuro has been released for smartphones and got 600k downloads in just one week)

way behind. the psp go did 175k-180k in japan. the vita tv is around 50k-60k less than that.
Deservedly.

The PSP Go was actually a great handheld imo. Massively niche of course, but it was very portable due to the small size and low weight, and you could carry all games on one device. It even had Video-Out. The price was bullshit though and digital games were too expensive back then.

Whereas Vita TV is limited as fuck and allows you to play maybe 20% of the PSV library. At least they got the price right I guess.

I got Dec 31 numbers from the google cache

http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...capcom.co.jp/ir/english/business/million.html

RE 4 Wii edition is still selling? Damn...

I remember the laughs here when they expected 700k

I don't think there were that many laugh, that was rather reasonable considering that's around what the original one sold.

So did child of Light sell just under 16k in total or just under 8k?

It looks like the software promotion for Yokai Watch and Animal Crossing (get 1 for free if you buy a 3DS) stole some thunder away from Nintendo's new release. Mario Golf is a really successful series in Japan, so the sales trend for it will keep it in the charts for some time to come, just like Kirby, Animal Crossing, Mario Party, etc. Games like that don't have huge debuts and then plummet, they just remain steady for a long period of time.

RE 4 Wii edition is still selling? Damn...

I don't think there were that many laugh, that was rather reasonable considering that's around what the original one sold.

Give me a Wii HD version Capcom.... you know you want to do it.....

woohoo level 5 back, and then they'll bleed this franchise dry like a stuck pig in 6 months.just like little battlers.

The only thing they were milking with Little Battlers were the toy model kits though. The anime and the games never really took off in the same way. Mediocre success at best. This is definitely on a different level. No doubt they'll still milk it dry, but at least this cow actually has an abundance of milk!

I'd found it sad if they milk this series like crazy until nobody cares about it.

Seeing those sales Yokai Watch could be the next Pokemon if they do it right.

i thought it was more they were releasing games after they were already announcing a sequel, that was only 6 montha away from the release of the game that wasn't out on store shelves yet...they really mishandled that IP.

Wow, God Eater 2 at 700K... That's quite a lot isn't it?

no. within expectations.

I remember the laughs here when they expected 700k

the laughs was people expect 700K on VITA alone and GE2 could easily reach 1 million in Japan.

What's up with Mario Golf at 20-40%?

nothing wrong with it if you know how Nintendo title usually sells.

Seeing those sales Yokai Watch could be the next Pokemon if they do it right.

A lot of titles could be the next Pokemon if they do it right. This is like saying all these hunting games could be the next MH if they do it right. They are all not done right which explain why they are not selling like Pokemon/MH.

I haven't seen yet any hunting game that has sold 70k on a week 9 months after it's original release and an anime with quite a good TV rating (both Yokai Watch and Pokemon X/Y are around 5-6% at their respective times)

They seem to have done everything right until now. What would make me sad it's if they fail now that they have almost half the job done.

Annualization of the franchise will kill it.
It's also killing Pokemon.

Mobile has utterly devastated the market. Yes, the 3DS is doing well by comparison, but even that likely won't come near the DS or GB lifetime totals of around 30 million. The Wii U is looking at around GC lifetime sales and the PS4 will have to see a serious sales uptick to do better. The Vita is still far from relevant even with higher YoY sales. The growth of the previous gen evaporated.

It's also killing Pokemon.

Pokémon Red and Green: February 27, 1996
Pokémon Blue: October 15, 1996
Pokémon Yellow: September 12, 1998
Pokémon Gold and Silver: November 21, 1999
Pokémon Crystal: December 14, 2000
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire: November 21, 2002
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen: January 29, 2004
Pokémon Emerald: September 16, 2004
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl: September 28, 2006
Pokémon Platinum: September 13, 2008
Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver: September 12, 2009
Pokémon Black and White: September 18, 2010
Pokémon Black 2 and White 2: June 23, 2012
Pokémon X and Y: October 2013

I think those are all the Pokemon mainline titles released. It's not a yearly franchise but titles are not that far apart (sometimes you have a 12 month gap, sometimes a 18 or 24 month gap but there are 1 or 2 times when there is a 6 months gap O.O) .

You could not consider Yellow / Crystal / Emerald / Platinum mainline though since those are like a "complete" version of their respective generations though.

What I wanted to say it's that this is not the first time we get 2 new Pokemon games in two years :)

So Pokemon Z in 2015.

I'm ok with this. The new series and the remakes are really like two separate lines.

I thought Children's Day (the biggest day of Golden Week) was May 5th?

Maybe there will be a bump? At least for Nintendo platforms?

Impossible to see a bump.
Yeah, children's day was monday, (and tuesday a holiday too), but the post golden week drop is big.

I'll give you a real example. I have a part time job in a restaurant and the last two days almost nobody came. My boss even gave me free day yesterday. He apologized and said it's because people spend a lot of money during golden week, so they are saving now, until they'll get the new salary by the end of the month.

So even on monday people spend money buying things, the rest of the week mostly stayed quiet and i don't think a couple of holidays can prevent that drop. It's just that the drop won't be as big as other years.
Small drop probably will happen.
