The same blogger who posts the first day sell-through, post leaks some hours before the numbers come out. The problem is that he likes puzzles, and you have to guess what is saying.

Maybe he is doing this to avoid problems with Media Create for leaking the numbers.

I doubt Media Create is as "paranoid" as NPD, but I doubt they're too happy about people leaking data some people pay for. Better safe (and puzzled) than sorry, I guess, ha ha.

Its leaks of the actual MC (?) data by a trusted source who uses needlessly confusing puzzles to leak the data.

Thanks, not a very good second week for X then, not terrible either, looks like a typical front loaded jrpg drop off, might still eek it's way to 140k which considering the userbase ain't too bad

FF Explorers would indicate that SE is open to N3DS enhancements but I reckon they'd do dual analog and better framerate and leave it at that.

Do we know why xenoX's sales are so middling? I'm no expert but it seems to be the kind of game that Japan would enjoy.

They didn't really bite the first two times around. If it's not part of one of the big legacy series, based on an anime, or some sort of Monster Hunter clone, Japan doesn't seem to care about JRPGs.

I don't think it's true that Japan doesn't care about JRPGs, but like any market, marketing is very important if you want something to be a huge hit. With their non-family branded core games, Nintendo deliberately limits the marketing stuff they publish. I suspect it is because they really don't know how to market them. That, combined with the fact that the WiiU is a dead system in the eyes of the mainstream public, makes it really hard for stuff like Xenoblade X and Bayonetta 2 to be big hits.

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition is doing disappointingly bad, I don't know what I was thinking when I predicted it would sell 500.000 units in May.

Because they need to spend around 35000¥ to play it.
And after this, the next (and last) jRPG comes in more than 6 month.

The PS4 has a lower install base but Bloodborne sold pretty well on it. Yes, I know that it's an established franchise and all but XenoX is as JRPG as it gets and it has a seemingly big budget and mechs as well. The N3DS version of Xenoblade sold like 50k+ in its first week and that has a lower userbase than the WiiU. I honestly expected it to sell at least 100k in its first week as it's a brand new game instead of a port. I'd really like to know how XenobladeX and Bloodborne were marketed in Japan in order to make some kind of comparison. I would assume the lack of proper marketing is the primary reason it didn't sell as well as it could have.

Man hopefully Nintendo can somehow break even on XCX

Everything looks so dire right now.

I would be surprised if they didn't have follow-up content for it. It seems like a product too big to not extract more out of it and Nintendo needs more long-live content to sustain Wii U.

At this point, we need to wait for the end for June for brand new movements in the chart. End of June for brand new major movements, if COMG tells the truth.
