Ok so now that Monster Hunter has been established as a multipaltform franchise even by Nintendo fans, what's next that should go multiplatform.

Shin Megami Tensei is already multiplatform but I hope Capcom considers Ace Attorney for other platforms as well. Exclusives don't make sense anymore. The more platforms, the better.

I wouldn't be so sure about SMT HD. I mean if it is multiplatform, why they haven't said anything yet?

I think SMT and Persona make sense to go multiplatform, at least Nintendo/Playstation multiplat with probably PC as well, since both games have similarities and a comparable origin, so releasing on both PS4 and Switch/3DS and maybe PC would probably expand both significantly.

I do foresee Persona 5: Crimson for Switch/PS4. They already revealed they cut some content from the game including a female main character so it is possible for sure.

Well it is on Smartphones and also not all games are released there, are they? I am talking about porting the whole franchise to modern platform that is accessible to hardcore fans like me. Switch/PC/PS4 should be considered atleast. It is not like PC/PS4 lack visual novels or don't sell that well.

Because maybe they have nothing to show for it yet :p

Pokémon was officially announced for it.
Anyone saying that this is not the 3DS successor has no idea what they're talking about.

I am so glad Ishihara announced that, otherwise 3DS successor speculation would have been going on for over a year until the game would be shown.

There's one, right? Only VOEZ as far as I know.

There's also Plantera DX Edition, iirc. But yeah, not many of them, which is understandable. Devs/pubs don't want to alienate anyone, and I'm sure Nintendo recommends against not support all 3 modes.

Absolutely. Hope that also means the handheld developers will start seriously developing for Switch. Would be nice.

Two, Plantera is handheld only.

Generations is actually at 4.2 million, making it the best selling 3DS entry.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Neat.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Given how a few pages earlier it was posted a PS4 vs Switch comparison with titles divided per publisher, I decided to use it as a different way to represent one of the main criterias I used for inter-generational support comparisons, i.e.

"Releases by Japanese publishers / developers from the launch to the console's first Holiday (in case of an Holiday release, the subsequent one)"

Honestly, I think this kind of comparisons can highlight also how much the industry changed in the past few years, between several companies not existing anymore and the rise of digital-only titles (as a reminder, 3DS did not have the eShop at launch, and it released back in March 2011).

Yeah no. They tried and it bombed. And it was the most ideal game for starters. HD collection with the first two games and before WiiU fate was sealed.

They tried with late ass ports of a HD collection of PS2 games and that was the Wii U. I wasn't necessarily talking Switch either. Those games should release on PC at the very least.

Japan game industry is dying. So sad.

I was thinking about this before but watching the Treehouse stream at the minute solidified it. Salmon Run is going to give Splatoon 2 extra life in Japan. I missed who it is(Producer/Director) but he was just talking about how it came about because they wanted to make it easy to play on the go with friends, you don't need 8 people to get a match going.

I'll wait Salmon Runter World on PS4 :p
