Media Create Sales: Week 21, 2018 (May 21 - May 27)

Breath of the Wild officially passes the million sales in Media Create. First time a console Zelda game reaches the treshold since Ocarina in the N64. Is this correct?

Tropical Freeze still charting in the top 10 since its release.

Switch 3rd party releases putting up solid numbers in comparsion to PS4 versions baring BlazBlue, which is not surpraising given it's niche status and that it's user base has been cultivated on Sony platforms for years now. With that said wished BlazBlue numbers were higher in general.

FIFA 18 Switch handly outsold the PS4 version at least in Japan kind of sad we havent heard much from the follow up so far... at least not in the EA press conference.

Yes you're right about BotW being the first Zelda 1M seller in JP since OOT. Phantom Hourglass got close (900K), but this is the first Zelda game since OOT to cross 1M retail. To be fair, BotW with digital and the Wii U version reached this a little while ago (136K for the Wii U version), but it's nice to have it sell 1M on Switch alone in retail.

FIFA 18's JP sales are still tiny (across the board) compared to European & even US sales. It's just not much for EA to talk about. It's great to see the Switch version do well though.

Well Shantae is pretty niche in general? Also what's wrong with BlazBlue exactly? I heard it's a lot of recycled content, but past that I don't know much.

It is, just seems like something Japan would be into.

Half the roster is paid DLC despite it being a asset flip (like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for example), and half the DLC characters were shown off fully playable before the game even released, some months ago. On top of that 10 of the 20 DLC characters are 100% complete and balanced on disc (4 of which were day 1, but are thankfully free for 2 weeks as an "apology") just like Street Fighter X Tekken, and on top of that you actually fight those 10 in story mode so Arc aren't even trying to hide what they're doing. PC players are already using them online from hacking, along with Yang (who releases in a week(, who seems to be fully complete and balanced but missing a effect on the last hit of her astral separate from the character (so I guess she's technically 100% finished), and making combo videos for them.

Then on top of that the game was rushed out for Evo so the game is missing standard single player content like arcade mode like Street Fighter V, which gets better because on the main hub there is a arcade section complete with a NPC that you can't interact with confirming the game released unfinished, with plans to most likely patch in the rest of the game later. Literally has finished post launch paid content on disc before the rest of the game.

So yeah, it's basically Worst of Capcom Fighters: Greatest Hits: The Game.

Nice to see Dark Souls at the top spot. It´s one of my favourite games. Haven´t gotten around to that yet since I got so many damn other games in the backlog. I thought I was gonna play it at launch, gearing up for another go at the deadly double duo but it has to wait. So many games, so little time.

Blazblue did a horrible start. I was expecting the ratio of PS4 and Switch version be 60 - 40% in favor of PS4, but that was very low. Maybe announce a ton of DLC prior to the game be released affect the sales, but is just a guess. And on other news, this was very interesting :
