Even considering that it's bizarre how high it is, I actually almost did a double-take when you consider how poorly Clannad performed when it came out and how it was supposedly the most popular visual novel ever or something similar.

Yeah, surely.
The first release did 16,434 in its first week and 40,487 LTD (Famitsu).

So a combined 42k for this game is pretty fantastic. Even though the double-pack would technically raise the LTD of the first game, too.

If this was the PAL thread someone would be saying that only selling to 14% of your userbase is a disasterous start for Zelda! To be fair 3DS sales look miraculous compared to everywhere else, and the game might hold on for a while. How long until it becomes best selling 3DS game there?

Go go new games! Little Battlers did freaking amazing numbers.

We don't have the sales ratio yet. Hope it is good, or the big box (bundled with plastic model of starring robot) will receive similar treatment as Ninokuni last year...... fast and huge price collapse to push out all stocks for space...

I don't think there are many stocks left. The first re-stock in Amazon has been sold out again and next stock will be arrived on 26th June.

Layton is currently around 300k. So maybe never, but it'll take at least quite a few weeks.

Very good for OoT3D. It manage to drive some 3DS sales either.
We will see but if it can pass 500k, I think it will be a good result given the early release on its system compared to PH/ST.

I wonder what Zelda's sell-through is. It was reported that Nintendo ininitially shipped only 150k copies, so it should be rather high. At least if Nintendo's weekend shipment wasn't especially huge.

Sales are really low at the moment though, new releases aside. 6k for a Top 10 spot?

Nice for OOT, I thought it'd do a bit better though..

Completely surprised by Little Battlers, how did it do compared to Ninokuni? Here's hoping it doesn't crash and burn.

Soo close

Decent bump for 3DS as well. It'll be interesting to see Zelda's sales next week and see whether the supply constraint held it back this week or it will just drop down anyway

Ninokuni 177,249 / 529,218

It's pretty damn close. I didn't think Little Battlers had nearly the same hype. Of course Ninokuni was hyped up ridiculously on the internet but I have no idea what the actual situation was like in Japan.

I think 500k is very optimistic. If they manage to ship another 150k+ ltd, that would be more realistic.
Nice to see the 3DS sales bump

Ni No Kuni did 170k first week on a 600k shipment. The Little Battlers shipment was reportedly 300k, and has a TV anime, and multiplayer features to support the title.

I'm comparing this MC number with Ninokuni's Famitsu number, but Ninokuni's first week was just a little higher.

Well, I guess all we can do is wait for next week to see how it fares from here on.

Mobility is more than a trend. It's more than a new lifestyle. It's... freedom!

I don't know if this is right, but Zelda came out on the 16th in Japan I think, so that would mean those sale numbers are for only 3 days?

Most Japanese games release on Thursday, the same as Little Battler and other new releases on chart.

I had no idea Little Fighters was actually not vapourware.

Unlike that other game people thought was vapourware that saw a June release, The Little Battlers is apparently a good game!

Chris said he'd be away for when the numbers would come out. I update the OP for when he does come back with his percentage dips, top 50, and hardware summary.

No that would make it 4 days.

I believe pretty much every game is released on thursdays in Japan, except for mainline Dragon Quest and sometimes Pokemon and other similiarly big releases which are released on saturdays, so the number of days of sales argument isn't really relevant

Yup. Portable gaming has taken over in Japan. DS + PSP are going to be over 50 million combined.

Good news for 3DS and Steins;Gate - I'm interested in seeing how the latter does on PSP. Looks like good news for Little Battlers as well, though we'll have to see the sell-through and the legs before we can know if this will turn into the kind of franchise Level-5 wants.

Looking at some previous Zelda numbers...

Much bigger start than any of the GBA games. More than where they were at after two weeks, even
Minish+Cap

Starts a little higher than Twilight Princess, outdoes Four Swords Adventure's total.
Wii+TP

Polygonal Toon Link is the big man, though.
